Week 7
Jane had entered the music store again, she had listened through all the cassettes and vinyl's, they weren't anything her parents would of listened too, they were mostly about raging against the machine and how unfair society had become for the little man.
she thought if she had lived in the time her parents did when they were kids, this would definitely have been labeled the devils music, honestly the whole thing seemed ridiculous when her parents talked about it.
then video games came and she was stuck being put in the very same situation her parents were, trying to explain that no video games didn't actually make anyone more or less violent, her mom had took some convincing but eventually got there.
her dad had been set in his ways though and would not budge how matter how much she begged and pleaded for him to just give it a chance and see things from her point of view, she had been rifling through the the vinyls in that train of thought, then she felt a hand tap her shoulder, steph looked, concerned.
Then said,"Jane are you alright? you seem kind of in a funk and it's throwing off the whole vibe of the place". Jane felt bad she didn't realize her stewing was that obvious, she then saw Alex in the corner to seem to be in the same funk as her, "yeah, sorry bad memories just pop up sometimes and their hard to deal with, whats with alex? she seemed fine when i came in"Jane asked.
Steph suddenly held up a finger, before saying, "one minute". Steph walked over to Alex, and seemed to be calming her down and then whispered something in her ear, jane couldn't make out what they were seeing but there seemed to be some arguing before steph finally sighed and nodded her head, when steph then walked back over.
"sorry, Alex doesn't usually like to divulge this information, but you seem cool and like your not going to judge or think she's crazy"steph explained.
jane raised an eyebrow, "oh?, color me intrigued what's the big secret?" Jane asked. Steph took a deep breath, then said "ok, Alex can feel and see other people's emotions without anyone saying anything, she also has a tiny bit of control over them, but like Never actually uses that last bit unless it's totally necessary".
Jane wasn't sure how to feel about that, she didn't quite believe it, but knew saying so would probably a bad idea and asking for proof would also lead to them being offended, she decided to go with it, "and my funk put her in one?, right".
It came out offended when she hadnt meant too, Jane cursed herself, and quickly covered "sorry, wrong tone that came out not in the way I meant it too, I'm genuinely asking". Steph looked at her a bit confused, and then relaxed, before saying.
"your good, just try to be more careful next time, anyway yes, that would cover it". Jane could tell the girl belived what she was saying, and wasn't purposely try to lie. "Alright, I'll try to keep calm in the future". She made sure to try to keep her tone neutral and kind this time.
She spent the rest of the time there trying to make up for her social flub by making sure to talk about what steph and Alex liked and trying to get to know more about them.
