Help! I’ve Been Isekai’d Into a Dating Sim
Adrien Agreste woke up feeling like absolute shit.
Which, honestly? Was weird. Because the last thing he remembered was dying.
There had been a macaron. Then choking. Then… darkness. Then a vague sense of floating in nothingness and nowhere. Now, he was here. Wherever here was.
His bed felt softer than usual. His room—wait. This wasn’t his room.
Adrien sat up so fast he nearly gave himself whiplash. Everything was wrong. The furniture was too… shiny. The lighting was soft and romantic, even though it was just morning. His bedsheets were a shade of gold that looked like they belonged on a drama CD cover. His window was slightly fogged, but in an aesthetically pleasing way.
Then he really looked around the room—and his stomach dropped.
The space was ridiculously over-the-top. The kind of room that only existed in visual novels meant to make the player swoon.
Floor-to-ceiling windows stretched across one side of the room, offering a picturesque view of an almost too perfect Paris skyline. A grand piano sat in the corner, pristine and waiting for an impromptu serenade. A giant bookshelf lined the opposite wall, packed with everything from classic literature to music theory books. His eyes trailed further—a rock climbing wall. A meticulously arranged CD collection.
Adrien swallowed hard. This wasn’t just an upgraded version of his bedroom. This was a goddamn set piece.
Welcome, Adrien! Your story is about to begin.
Adrien’s heart stopped. What. The. Hell.
You have been assigned the role of a capture target in the dating sim. However, the game is struggling to retain player interest, and engagement with the protagonist, Marinette, is at an all-time low. Your objective is to generate interest by any means necessary.
This includes forming connections with the protagonist (Marinette), engaging with other capture targets—Chat Noir (your alter ego/superhero persona), Luka Couffaine, and Felix Graham de Vanily—or even developing your own unique plotlines to expand your character’s story and establish a compelling route.
Bonne chance! 💕✨
Adrien stared. Then slowly, carefully, he reached under the bed and pinched himself. Hard.
Nope. Not a dream.
Oh my god. I’m in a dating sim.
A mechanical chime echoed through the room, followed by a disturbingly smooth voice. "Good morning, Adrien." Nathalie Sancoeur stood at the doorway, her posture unnervingly rigid, her eyes unreadable.
Adrien recoiled. "You're not real."
Nathalie tilted her head slightly, the motion calculated and deliberate. "Your directive today is clear: proceed to school and fulfill your role as a capture target. Have you selected a romantic pathway?"
[Dialogue Choice Unlocked!]
🗨️ “I think I need coffee.”
🗨️ “Marinette, of course!”
🗨️ “Maybe… Chat Noir?”
🗨️ “What the actual fuck is happening.”
Adrien watched in real-time as these options appeared over his head. He could see them. Like an actual game interface.
Instinct kicked in. He slammed his palm against the first option.
“I think I need coffee,” he said weakly.
Nathalie gave a crisp nod. "You will now proceed to school. Romantic progression must commence immediately."
The day only got worse.
- The streets were too clean.
- The sun was always perfectly golden and shining, like a permanent Instagram filter.
- Every person he passed was just a little too perfect, like they were designed by an AI trying to make an idealized version of Paris.
Adrien was about three steps away from an existential crisis when he bumped into someone.
“Agh—Adrien!” A voice rang out, and Adrien froze.
He turned slowly, dreading what he would see.
There she was. The protagonist, Marinette Dupain-Cheng, but make her fully otome-fied.
Her blue eyes sparkled unnaturally. Her hair had more volume than any normal human hair ever should. She was running late, a piece of croissant held between her lips in classic heroine fashion.
[New Character Encountered! Unlocking Introduction…]
Name: Marinette Dupain-Cheng
Route Status: Protagonist
Traits: Clumsy, Determined, Unknowingly Dangerous
Appeal: The Adorkable, Hardworking Girl Next Door
Game Description: A kind-hearted, spirited designer-in-training who wants to follow her dreams… and accidentally make five people fall in love with her along the way. Loves romance, pastries, and you.
[Event Triggered: ‘The Clumsy Morning Greeting’]
Marinette took one step forward and immediately crashed straight into him.
Adrien barely had time to register what was happening before he was hit with a flurry of warmth, croissant crumbs, and textbook-induced pain.
They both tumbled onto the pavement, Marinette letting out a yelp as her bag hit the ground. The croissant? Smashed unceremoniously against Adrien’s mouth in an indirect kiss.
“Oh no!” Marinette gasped, pushing herself up. “I’m so sorry! I was in a hurry and didn’t see you—”
Adrien sat up groggily, lifting a hand to brush flaky pastry debris off his mouth. “I—”
Adrien knew, without a doubt, that somewhere in the system, an invisible prompt had just been unlocked.
[Would you like to:]
🗨️ “Help her up and say something charming.”
🗨️ “Smile mysteriously and walk away.”
🗨️ “Panic and apologize profusely.”
Adrien stared at the floating dialogue choices, absolutely mortified.
This is it. I’m doomed.
