First Day

It was now past dinner time, Cassiopeia and the rest of the Slytherin house was following a seventh year prefect. Once they reached the dungeons, the prefect stopped and turned around. "In order to enter the dormitories you will need to know the password. The password is changed weekly. The new password will be posted on the bulletin board in the common room." The prefect said. "Now remember this week's password, if you forget either look for a Slytherin prefect or our head of house professor Slughorn." The prefect made sure to look at one certain girl who Cassiopeia recognized as Georgia Goyle.

"This wall is the entrance to our dormitories." The prefect said as he turned towards the wall. "Toujours pur." Cassiopeia recognized this saying as it was her family's motto. It made her feel proud.

"What does 'Toujours pur' stand for?" Asked Annabeth. Instead of Cassiopeia replying Regulus Black replied for her. "Always Pure." "And why is that your family's motto?" Asked Grover. " Because my dear family believes muggle borns, blood traitors and half-bloods have no room in the wizarding world." Sirius Black replied.

As soon as the words left the prefects mouth the wall behind them opened up. They walked through the entrance towards the common room. Once in the common room the older students split off and went towards their dormitories. The prefect turned towards the first years and began speaking again. " My name is Matthias Flint. I am one of your prefects. This years Head boy is Jacob Cresswell a Ravenclaw and this Years Head girl is one of our own Narcissa Black." This made Cassiopeia smile, she wants to be just like Narcissa and become head girl to make her parents proud. "The dormitories are located up the staircase. First years are on the second floor. Boy dormitories are on the right of the grand staircase and girls are on the left of the grand stair case.  Please note boys you are not allowed in the girls dormitories, if you dare to try and enter the girls dormitories a wall will block your path. If you are caught trying to go into the girls dormitories you will lose points. You do not want to lose points for the house of Slytherin. There is also a curfew here at Hogwarts, you are to be in your common rooms no later than 10 pm, if you are caught outside of the Slytherin common room you will lose points and be punished. No fighting outside of Slytherin only areas. Now off you go." Matthias finished.

Cassiopeia finally got to look around and see her surroundings. The Slytherin common room was cold, dungeon like room decorated in greens and silvers. The back wall is made out of glass looking out to the Black lake. Cassiopeia was beginning to fill tired. She walked up the staircase to the second floor and walked into the girls dormitories. She made her way to the dorm room that had her name on it. She walked into the room to see two queen sized beds with green blankets and silver sheets. She walked over the bed that her bags were placed on and started unpacking. After unpacking her bag, she grabbed a black night gown and went to the girls shower room and got ready for bed. When she arrived back to her room she was met with Acacia MacMillan. "It looks like we are roommates Cassie." Acacia said with a smile. "I am glad we are roommates." Cassiopeia replied. Soon Acacia left the room to go get ready for bed and Cassiopeia went to sleep.

"There were only two to a room?" asked Marlene McKinnon. "Yea, how many were put in your room?" Asked Rabastan Lestrange. "four to five people." A Hufflepuff replied. "That sounds exhausting." Evan Rosier responded.

Cassiopeia was awoken by the sound of elves knocking on her dorms door. Cassiopeia let out a yawn and got up from her bed. She walked over to her dresser and pulled out her school uniform. As she was walking out she heard Acacia wake up "Good morning Cassie." Acacia said as she sat up. "Good morning Acacia." Cassiopeia said before she closed the door. She made her way to the girls bathroom. After getting changed into her Slytherin uniform, she brushes her teeth and hair. She decides to put her hair into a bun.

After she finished getting ready she walked downstairs to the Slytherin common room where she saw Caspian and Beauregard talking. "Good morning." Cassiopeia said as she reached them. "Good morning Cas number 1, Bonjour" Caspian and Beauregard responded. "Good morning Cassi." Cassiopeia turned around to see her favorite Rosier. "Evan. I didn't get to speak with you yesterday." Cassiopeia replied. "We can catch up today, walk with me to breakfast." Evan replied. "Of course, Bye Cas number 2 bye Beau." Cassiopeia said with a wave as she followed Evan out of the common room.

"I am your favorite Rosier, Princess??" Asked Evan. "Of course you are Ev." Cassiopeia replied. "I am happy to know that, you are my favorite Black, Princess." Evan said causing Regulus to give Evan a look. "And what about me?" "What about you?" Evan replied.

"So who is your roommate?" asked the infamous Rosier. "Acacia Macmillan, I met her at Madam Malkin's. I am glad she is my roommate I can tell we are going to be great friends." Cassiopeia replied. "Are you going to tryout for quidditch with Reg?" Cassiopeia asked. "Of course I am going to try out for quidditch I can't let your brother have all the glory." Evan replied. As they were walking Cassiopeia spotted her oldest Brother Sirius Black Walking with his group of friends. When she saw that he spotted her too she waved. She was expecting him to say hello or even just to wave back but was ignored causing her to frown. Evan who noticed turned to her " ignore him, he doesn't care about his family when he is with his friends. He did the same thing to Regulus and Narcissa." This caused Cassiopeia to frown even more not in sadness but in anger. How can one just ignore their family? Their own blood, where is the loyalty in that? "Princess you don't need Sirius, if he wants to ignore his little sister let him. He doesn't know what he is missing out on. You have Reggie. You also have me, ok if you need anything you can come to me." Cassiopeia looked at Evan and Smiled and muttered a simple "Ok

They soon got to the dinning hall and made their way to the Slytherin table. Evan took a seat by Rabastan Lestrange and Cassiopeia took a seat by her brother. "Good morning" Cassiopeia greeted as she sat down. "Good morning Cassi/ Bonjour etoile" Rabastan, Barty, and regulus responded. Soon after she sat down Caspian, Beauregard, and Acacia sat down. "Hello" they greeted the older students. After they were done eating Slughorn walked around the table handing them their timetables. Cassiopeia took hers and saw that she had Charms taught by Professor Flitwick with the Ravenclaws. History of magic taught by Professor Binns with the Hufflepuffs.  Potions taught by Professor Slughorn with the Gryffindors. Herbology taught by Professor Sprout with the Ravenclaws.  Transfiguration taught by Professor McGonagall with the Gryffindors. Defense Against the Dark Arts taught by Professor Burke with the Gryffindors. Flying lesson with the Ravenclaws, and lastly Astronomy.

"What classes do we have today?" asked Caspian. "while it looks like we have charms first, second Flying lessons than lunch. After lunch we have Potions and at night we have Astronomy.   Cassiopeia replied. ''I am loo-" Beauregard was interrupted by loud laughing coming from the Gryffindor table. Cassiopeia looked over to see that it was her brother and his friends causing all of the noise. Cassiopeia rolled her eyes and turned back towards her friends.

"Cassiopeia Walburga Black!" Walburga yelled at her daughter. Cassiopeia flinched Percy and Alexander noticed this. Percy tightened his grasp on her hand and Alexanders eyes darkened. "Yes mama?'' Cassiopeia replied. "A young lady does not roll her eyes that is unacceptable. When we get home you are going to be retaught etiquette." Walburga told her daughter. This caused Cassiopeia slightly shake her hands. The Potters all turned to Sirius and asked in a whisper "What does she mean by 'retaught'?" "She means punished. She is going to punish Cassi." Sirius responded This caused Fleamont to gasp and Euphemia to glare at Walburga. Regulus was about to come to his sisters defense when a voice spoke up. "You will do no such thing to my daughter Walburga." Orion Black responded. Walburga looked at her husband. "But she isn't like a lady." Walburga spat out. "No one noticed her rolling her eyes." Orion replied. "She is acting like a lady, it is not her fault that Sirius was causing a commotion." "I don't care if no one noticed she deserves to be retaught before the behavior gets worse!" Walburga yelled back. Before Orion could respond another voice spoke up. "You will do no such thing." Arcturus Black responded looking at Walburga. "What you are doing right now is un lady like Walburga." Before this fight could continue Thalia spoke up. "How about we just go back to watching Cassi's life?" " I agree" Sirius Black replied. "Fine we will continue this talk later." Arcturus said to Walburga.

"Why are they causing a commotion so early in the morning?" Asked Acacia. "They always do that. They don't care about anyone else's peace." Rabastan responded. "Let's just go to class  guys." Caspian said. They all stood up gathering their supplies and walking out of the dining hall. "Does anyone know where the Charms class is?'' asked Beauregard. There was a choruses of no's. Cassiopeia spotted a fourth year Ravenclaw walking and decided to ask them. "Excuse me Miss, Do you know where the Charms class is?" The Ravenclaw turned towards the girl and smiled. " I can show you where it is." The girl replied. "I appreciate the help, but I don't want you to go out of your way to show us." Cassiopeia replied. "It is no trouble at all, I am heading that way anyway." "Ok" The four Slytherins followed the Ravenclaw through the halls of Hogwarts. They walked up the moving staircases when they finally reached their destination. "Thank you for the help." Cassiopeia told the girl. "Of course, I am happy to help." After the others say their thanks the girls leaves.

The four walked into the room and saw a mix of Ravenclaws and  Slytherins. The group of four walked to four seats in the middle of the room. Caspian and Cassiopeia sat by each other while Beauregard and Acacia sat by each other. Professor Flitwick walked up to a stand and started the role call. After the role Call Professor Flitwick went on to explain what they were going to be taught through out the year. Overall the Class went by pretty smoothly, she liked having a class with the Ravenclaws. The next class was flying with the Ravenclaws, she was glad it was another class with the Ravenclaws. The flying class did not go as smoothly as Charms. there were students who were able to lift the broom and there were students who struggled. One student even hit themselves in the face with their broom. She was lucky to be one of the students who was able to lift the broom with no problem.

After The flying lessons it was lunch time.  Cassiopeia and her friends walked into the dining hall. She spotted her brother and split off from her group of friends and sat by him. "Hello my lune" regulus turned to her and smiled "Hello my etoile, how was your first two classes?" Regulus asked. "They were good my first two classes were with the Ravenclaws so it wasn't bad." They talked the whole lunch but it was time to go back to class. The potions classroom was in the dungeons. The four Slytherins walked into the classroom to be met with loudness from the Gryffindors. Safe to say by the end of the class Cassiopeia was dreading her other classes with the Gryffindors. Not all of the Gryffindors were bad, but there was a handful of them that caused a ruckus in the classroom. The first half of class Professor Slughorn explained how to brew a forgetfulness potion. Everything was going great until the second half of class when the students were tasked to brew the forgetfulness potion. Most of the students were able to brew the Forgetfulness potion but a group of students blew their cauldron up.

They had time before their next class so they decided to go the library and start on their homework. It was now dinner time and the walked to the dining hall. They sat at their table and started eating when Cassiopeia was interrupted by a voice. "Etoile come with me." She looked up to see her older brother Sirius standing there. "I will see you guys later." Cassiopeia told her friends. She got up and followed her older brother out of the dinning hall. As they were walking she decided to ask Sirius why he ignored her. "Sirius why did you ignore me earlier?" Sirius looked his sister. "I didn't want to ignore you but you were with Rosier." This made her frown. He could have still said hello or even wave back. Before she could respond she saw three people she recognized to be Sirius' friends standing by a wall.  "Where are you taking me Ciel?" Cassiopeia asked. "I am taking you to meet my friends." Sirius responded.

Sirius looked down with a sad look it has been a while since she called him that nickname. "You ok Mate?" asked Peter. "Yea I am"

She did not want to but before she could protest the three people walked up to them.  "Hey Padfoot!" James Potter sad with a smile. Remus Lupin was the one to notice Cassiopeia. "Hello, I am Remus Lupin a friend of your brothers, the idiot with glasses is James Potter and the one with food in his hand is Peter Pettigrew." Cassiopeia looked at Remus Lupin not knowing how to respond. It would be disrespectful to do the pureblood greeting to him but also disrespectful to not do the pureblood greeting to the other two. She was in a turmoil. She was about to the pureblood greeting when she saw the look her older brother was giving Remus. The others might not be offended Cassiopeia thought. "Hello, it is nice to meet you. I am Cassiopeia Walburga Black." She greeted with a smile.

Sirius looked at his sister whispering a thank you. He appreciated she didn't make his friend feel left out.

"I would love to stay and get to know you more but I have to head to my Astronomy class. " Cassiopeia said. "Good bye my Ciel.'' Cassiopeia said as she began to walk away. "It was nice meeting you / goodbye Etoile." The four marauders said.  She made her way to the Astronomy tower thanks to the help of the paintings. She walked into the tower and sat by her friends. "what did your brother want?" asked Beauregard.  "He just wanted to introduce me to his friends." Cassiopeia replied. Before anymore questions could be asked the Professor walked in. The class started and Cassiopeia was loving the class. It was the easiest class for her. Of course it was. Every Black learns about the stars. If a Black failed Astronomy it would be a shock to everyone. "Amazing Job Miss Black.'' Professor Lovegood replied after Cassiopeia got a trick question right. The rest of Astronomy class went like that.

It was now 11 pm and Cassiopeia was laying in bed writing her mother and father a letter. Telling them about how she got into Slytherin and how her first day of classes went. She also apologized for not sending a letter the night before. After she finished writing the letter she made sure to not wake Acacia up and attached the letter to her owl. "Thank you Hippolyta" She said with a smile as the owl flew away.

"You named the owl after the Queen of the Amazons?" asked Nico and Annabeth. "Yes I did, She is an inspiration." Cassiopeia replied. Percy and her Demigod siblings knew that wasn't the only reason why she named the owl after her. She also knew that she named the owl after her because Ares cared about the Amazons. She named the Owl Hippolyta to honor her father. "Hippolyta is a beautiful name." Euphemia told the girl. "Thank you Mrs. Potter." Cassiopeia replied with a small smile.
