The New Kid

Cassiopeia awoke out of her daze by a hand shaking her. She looked to her right and saw Eurytion standing there looking at her.

"Hey my first appearance! Suck it losers I appeared first!" Eurytion yelled looking at the other demigods. "Oh really, how about I show you my fist?" Alexander responded. While those two were arguing the rest of the hall was confused. Some were questioning where the girl was. Others were questioning why she wasn't at Hogwarts. Many others, mainly the purebloods, Sirius Black and the marauders, were questioning why Cassiopeia was surrounded by muggles. "Hey prongs, why is your sister hanging out with muggles?" James Potter asked. "I don't know, I don't even know how she knows them." Sirius responded. Cassiopeia who overheard their conversation just snickered. She leaned into Percy's ear and whispered "Yea muggles." Causing Percy to chuckle.

"Hey, you ok? You were staring off into space for a bit?" Eurytion asked, worry etched across his face. "Yea I am fine. Just thinking about my school." She responded with a smile. "Hogwarts, right? The magical one." "Yes, that is the one." She replied while nodding her head.

"You told muggles about Magic and Hogwarts?! You broke the law!" Screamed A toad looking lady dressed in Slytherin Garments. Cassiopeia's eyes darkened at this. "Miss, I have read the laws of the wizarding world many times. I know the laws like the back of my hand. The law specifically states that muggles may not know about the existence of wizards and magic. I broke no such law. The people in the magical screen device and the people here now are not muggles." Cassiopeia told the lady. "If they aren't muggles then what are they, and how do you know them, Miss Black?" Asked Dumbledore. "It will be explained in the future. Now if anyone else has a question or complaint, keep it to yourself." with that Cassiopeia turned back to the screen.

Before Eurytion can respond, they saw a kid with messy black hair, tan skin and sea green eyes walk by them following Chiron. They looked at his hands and saw that he was holding a horn. Cassiopeia turned to Euryiton. "Eury who is this kid? How did he defeat Pasiphae's son?" Asked Cassiopeia. "That is the knew kid. He showed up here last night. Apparently he defeated Pasiphae's son by himself." This caused Cassiopeia to look back at the boy with a curious look before turning her back and heading back to sword practice.

It was now an hour later, Cassiopeia and Eurytion were walking with each other joking around when they heard Clarisse yelling. They looked towards the bathrooms and saw six people soaking wet. Hector and Alexander were pulling an angry Clarisse back to their cabin. While a Scowling Lacedaemon was following. "I am going to go see if Clarisse is ok." Eurytion told the girl. Cassiopeia nodded at that as she walked towards the smirking twelve year olds. As she walked up she heard Annabeth Chase telling the new kid she wanted him on her team for capture the flag. "Woah, not so fast wise girl," Cassiopeia said, smirking. Annabeth turned to look at Cassiopeia rolling her eyes. "Nice to see you too, star." This caused Cassiopeia to clench her fists.

"It has been so long that I forgot you two did not get along at all." Grover said. While the two in question just roll their eyes at the statement. "What is so wrong with her calling you, star?" Asked Peter Pettigrew. "Only my brother can call me star." Cassiopeia told the rat looking man. "And I meant it as an insult." Annabeth added on. This caused the wizarding world to be confused. Why is calling her star an insult? "In our world calling her by that name diminishes her." Regulus was questioning the "Our world" but decided not to ask questions for the time being.

"Call me that name one more time and I will break your nose." Cassiopeia told the girl. Before Annabeth could respond a voice stepped in. " Cassi, Annie what did I tell you about fighting?" The two girls turned to look at Luke Castellan. "To save the fight for capture the flag and spars." They both replied. "Great, so save this fight for capture the flag this Friday. As for now both you shall show Percy Jackson around." Before any of them could protest Luke walked away. "Oh, umm hi my name is Percy Jackson." Cassiopeia turned to the new kid and saw him holding his hand out for her to shake. "Cassiopeia Black, and put your hand away I am not shaking it." Cassiopeia turned on her heels and started walking away with Annabeth following her. Percy Jackson shook his head in embarrassment and ran to catch up with the two.

Soon they reached the creek. Cassiopeia was throwing rocks into the creek. "Annabeth I'm sorry about the toilets." Causing Annabeth to reply with whatever. "It wasn't my fault." Causing Annabeth to look at him skeptically. Cassiopeia turned towards the two and asked "What did he do to the toilets?" "He made the pipes explode all over everyone in the bathroom, that is why Clarisse was drenched." Annabeth replied. Causing Cassiopeia to look at Percy Jackson with a smirk.

"Wait he made pipes burst? One Cool. And two How?" Asked the Prewett twins. "It will be explained in the movies, and I didn't mean to." Percy told the two.

Percy gave a look of realization and finally accepted he was the one who made the pipes burst. He still doesn't understand how he did that but he knew he had caused it. Cassiopeia went back to throwing rocks into the creek.

"You need to speak to the oracle." Annabeth told the boy. "Who?" Asked Percy with a voice full of confusion. "Not who. What. The Oracle. I'll ask Chiron." Annabeth replied. Cassiopeia soon felt a presence standing beside her and looked to her left and saw Percy Jackson standing by her.

"Stay away from her, Jackson." Alexander said with a playful smirk. "And what will you do about it?" Asked Percy Jackson. Before this could continue Cassiopeia threw pillows at the two to shut them up. "That is some wicked aim, Cas number 1!" Caspian said. Cassiopeia turned towards her friends and did a curtsey.

Percy Jackson stared down at the lake not expecting anybody to be looking back at him from the bottom. There sitting cross legged at the edge of the creek were two teenage girls smiling and waving at him and Cassiopeia. He did not know what to do so he waved back. "Don't encourage them" Annabeth warned Percy. "Naiads are terrible flirts." She said while rolling her eyes at Cassiopeia who was now picking up two rocks, knowing what she was about to do.

"Naiads" Percy repeated with a faint voice, as he looked back towards the naiads only to see them getting hit with rocks. He looked over to see Cassiopeia was the one throwing the rocks. Cassiopeia who noticed Looked over at him. "Try it. It's fun." Cassiopeia said with a smile. Percy Jackson shook his head. He was starting to feel overwhelmed.

"That's it, I want to go home now." He told the two. Annabeth frowned, while Cassiopeia scoffed. "Do you not know anything?" Cassiopeia responded. "This is the only safe place for kids like us." She told the boy. "You mean, mentally disturbed kids?" Cassiopeia let out a chuckle "Say that about yourself I am perfectly normal." This caused Annabeth to look at her with a really stare.

"Ok I am confused. One Naiads which are from Greek mythology are real. And Cassiopeia Black is at this camp. What is going on?" Asked Rodolphus Lestrange. While others nod their head. "Just watch the movie." Cassiopeia replied. Sirius on the other hand was surprised to see his little sister acting like this. Never in his life would he think she would act like this. He looked over to see his mother clenching her fists and breathing heavily. He started to worry about his little sister knowing when she gets home, their mother is going to do more than just yell at the girl.

"What Cassiopeia means is not human. Not totally human, anyway. Half-human." Annabeth told Percy. "Half-human and half-what?" Percy asked, He was still confused about the whole situation. "Use your brain idiot." Cassiopeia replied. After a moment of silence Percy finally answered "God." "Half-God." Annabeth nodded while covering Cassiopeia's mouth. "Your father isn't dead Percy. He's one of the Olympians." Annabeth told the boy.

"That's ... Crazy." Percy said as he was shaking his head.

"Is it? What's the most common thing gods did in the old stories? They ran around falling in love with mortals and having kids with them. Do you think they've changed their habits in the last few millennia?" Asked Annabeth.

"Wait, the Greek Gods are real?" asked Lily Evans. " Yes they are and our existence proves it." Thalia replied. "But that is impossible!" replied Molly Weasley. "How is it impossible? Who do you think gave you wizard's your magic?!" asked Nico. All of the wizarding world looked dumbfounded and was questioning everything they knew.

"But those are just-" Percy hurried and cut himself off when he remembered Chiron's or Mr. Brunner's words. "But if all of the kids here are half-gods-" "Demigods" Annabeth corrected him. "That's the official term or half-bloods." "Then who's your dad?" Percy asked. This caused Cassiopeia to shake her head with a laugh.

"My dad is a professor at West Point." Annabeth told him. " I haven't seen him since I was very small. He teaches American History." Cassiopeia looked at Annabeth with a knowing look. "He's Human?" Percy asked, confused.

"What? You assume it has to be a male god who finds a human female attractive? How sexist is that?" Annabeth snapped. "I would have never taken you as a sexist pig, new kid." Cassiopeia added. "No, that's not what I meant." Percy stammered out.

Percy shook his head before asking "Who's your mom then?" Annabeth looked at him and replied "Cabin six." Cassiopeia shook her head already knowing the New kid was not going to understand. "Meaning?" Percy asked.

"Dude you are really slow." Eurytion told the boy. " Shut up." Percy replied.

Annabeth straightened her back and with a proud voice said "Athena. Goddess of wisdom and battle." Percy nodded and turned towards Cassiopeia. "And who is your godly parent?" He asked, making sure he doesn't make the same mistake. Cassiopeia turned towards the boy with a smirk. "Cabin five. Ares God of war, bloodshed, and violence." Percy looked surprised. "Why do you look surprised?" asked Cassiopeia. "It's just I wasn't expecting you to be his kid, that's all." Cassiopeia's eyes darkened. " And what is that supposed to mean?!"

"What! No Cassiopeia is Orion Black Daughter! What is the meaning of this!" Screamed Druella Black. The rest of the Blacks voice their opinions while Sirius and Regulus Black look at their parents for conformation. With the look on their parents face they knew it was the truth. Sirius is upset that he was lied to his whole life, and that his sister wasn't who he thought she was. Regulus just wished his sister would have felt safe enough to tell him the truth. Orion finally stood up. "Quiet! What the magic screen thingy is saying is the truth. Cassiopeia is not biologically mine. But it does not make her any less of a Black. When She was born I blood adopted her. She is as much of a Black as I am and the rest of my kids." The wizarding world was in shambles from this knowledge. Pureblood families were confused. Was she still a pureblood? Cygnus and Arcturus were furious about Walburga cheating on Orion. While the demigods were trying not to laugh at Cassiopeia's dad for calling the film a magic screen thingy.

Before Cassiopeia could punch Percy Annabeth stopped her. "I didn't mean anything." Percy replied. Great he thought his first day at camp and he already angered 5 kids from the same cabin. "And me?" He asked changing the subject. "Like I told you before. Nobody knows." Annabeth said. "Except my mother. She knew." Percy said with a confident voice. " Maybe not, Percy. Gods don't always reveal their identities." Annabeth told him. "My dad would have. He loved her." Cassiopeia looked at him with a look of pity.

Annabeth looked at him with a cautious look. "Maybe you're right. Maybe he'll send a sign. That's the only way to know for sure: your father has to send you a sign claiming you as his son. Sometimes it happens." "You mean sometimes it doesn't?" The boy asked. Cassiopeia looked at the boy. " Why do you think the Hermes cabin is so full? Not all of those kids are actually his." This caused Percy to look down in sadness.

The wizarding world looks astounded. First they found out Greek mythology was real, and now they found out that not all demigods are claimed by their godly parents. The mothers in the room look at the eight demigods in sadness.

Annabeth looked down, tracing her palm along the rail. "The gods are busy. They have a lot of kids and they don't always, well, sometimes they don't care about us, Percy. They ignore us." Cassiopeia scoffed. "So I'm stuck here?" Percy asked. "That's it? For the rest of my life?'' "It depends, some campers only stay the summer. If you're a child of Aphrodite or Demeter, you're pro2bably not a real powerful force. The monsters might ignore you, so you can get by with a few months of summer training and live in the mortal world for the rest of the year." Cassiopeia smirked at this. "Here goes the wise girl judging Demeter and Aphrodite kids. And they say I am the mean one" She muttered.

Annabeth gave Cassiopeia a rally look. The said girl just shrugged.

"But for some of us, it's too dangerous to leave. We're year rounders. In the mortal world. We attract monsters. They sense us. They come to challenge us until we're old enough to cause trouble- about ten or eleven years old, but after that, most demigods either make their way here or they get killed off. A few manage to survive in the outside world and become famous. Believe me, if I told you the names, you'd know them. Some don't even realize they're demigods. But very, very few are like that."

"So monsters Can't get in here?" asked Percy Cassiopeia laughed "Not unless they're intentionally stocked in the woods or specially summoned by somebody on the inside." Annabeth replied. "Why would anybody want to summon a monster?" Percy asked, confused. "Practice fights." Cassiopeia told the boy while Annabeth said "Practical jokes." Percy furrowed his eyebrows. "Practical jokes?" "The point is, the borders are sealed to keep mortals and monsters out. From the outside, mortals look into the valley and see nothing unusual, just a strawberry farm."

"So, you guys are year-rounders?" Percy Asked. Annabeth nodded, pulling out a leather necklace with beads on it. They were just like Luke's, except Annabeth's had a big gold ring strung on it. While Cassiopeia's necklace had more beads on it.

"I've been here since I was seven, Cassiopeia came even younger." Cassiopeia nodded at that. "Every August, on the last day of summer session, you get a bead for surviving another year. I have been here longer than most counselors. Annabeth told the boy. ''As you can tell from my beads I have been here longer than Annabeth." Annabeth rolled her eyes at Cassiopeia trying to turn everything into a competition.

"Why did you come so young?" Percy asked. Cassiopeia smiled, smelling a fight brewing. "None of your business" Annabeth snapped at the boy. '' I stay for the whole summer then head back to my mortal parents house and school at the end of august. But I come back on the weekends and breaks." Cassiopeia told the boy.

Sirius, Regulus Black and Cassiopeia's friends eyes all widen, now knowing where she goes during the breaks and on the weekends. Cassiopeia just closed her eyes not looking forward to having all her secrets out in the open. Percy noticed this and grabbed her hand squeezing it. Cassiopeia smiled at him and mouthed a thank you.
