Chapter 17
It was the worst, loneliest full moon ever.
He didn't wish for the others to come, so the wolf was left alone for the first time in years.
He was not in the mood to run or play or do anything, really. He just stayed on the floor with his heavy body and his broken heart, looking possibly sadder than ever.
Â
The morning after was the worst part.
He didn't want to sleep and, strangely, he wasn't injured, so he didn't go to the hospital.
He didn't even go to his classes. It was a Wednesday, which meant he had the fullest program of all the other days, but he didn't care.
He asked Poppy to right him a letter and talk to McConnagal, so he didn't have to see Sirius again for the day.
The last couple of weeks were something else and not in a good way.
They never talked, never even batted an eyelash towards the other's direction and of course didn't sleep in each other's bed.
James and the girls had ven'and desperately trying to get them to talk, to leave them alone, but they'd failed every single time.
His arrangement was off, his relationship was destroyed, his life was awful and he had almost three for months left at Hogwarts.
What am I gonna do after school? How are things gonna be like for the gang and me without Sirius?
I'm seriously going to be miserable.
He wandered around the castle and went to the hospital because he wanted to lay down.
And then, he was Sirius, talking to Poppy, asking her probably where he was.
"Sirius.", he started the conversation and tried to seem calm.
Sirius turned immediately and looked revealed at the sound of his voice.
"Moony.", he still called him that. Some things just never change.
"Thank you, Poppy. I'll manage from now on.", he closed the distance between them with two steps and didn't remove his eyes off of Sirius. Poppy just nodded and gave them the privacy they wanted.
"Moony, I -."
"Don't. Please, I had a horrible night and I'm seriously not in the mood for anything.", the second he interrupted him, he regretted it, as he captured Sirius' anger on his eyes.
"Fine. I think you coming into the common room to apologize was such a terrible idea, too.", he left Remus alone at the hospital, questioning his words.
And then, it hit him.
He had told him exactly the same thing, the night he'd found him kissing that girl.
It had bothered him more than I thought...
