The aftermath
Three minutes later and there was a knock at the door, Lottie
pulled her hands from the blonde’s hair and Nat turned to wash
the kiss marks off her neck that had come from Lottie’s lip-stick.
Jackie opened the door and smirked. “Holy shit you guys actually
did it!”
The two girls looked confused. “Wha-” they started, but they were cut off as the other team members arrived at the door.
“It only took 3 years!” Van yelled.
“You guys look like a mess.” Mari added.
Natalie shot her a look and Mari’s smile flattered.
“Guys c’mon, let’s go pick the next two!” Tai said, grabbing Van’s hand and pulling them with her.
The next two to go were Shauna and Jackie, both looked extremely embarrassed as the bathroom door shut behind them.
“How long do you think they’re gonna last?” Akiliah asked, and Van started walking around the room, taking money for bets.
Natalie looked over at Lottie, who was playing with the rings on her hands and staring at Jackie’s bed sheets, which she sat on. Natalie walked over and put her hand on Lottie’s knee.
“Hey, you ok lots?” Lottie only nodded. Lottie would get overwhelmed and she would stop talking sometimes.
Nat sighed. “Lots, what’s wrong?”
Lottie shook her head. “It’s nothing-“ she said, so gently it was almost a whisper.
“It’s something, sweetie- talk to me.”
“You’re not gay- you don’t like me like that- we’re gonna forget about it and move on and-” Lottie was cut off when Natalie kissed her again.
It was truthful, it was confident and it shut Lottie up, no more overthinking.
Someone wolf whistled and someone groaned, “get a room.”
It was probably Mari, so it made sense. She was just jealous.
Natalie and Lottie pulled away and stared at each other, their foreheads falling together.
“I’m still figuring things out, I don’t know what I am. But I know that I really really like you.” Nat whispered.
They stayed like that for a long while, smiling at each other, hands interlocked, only interrupted when there was a loud noise from inside the bathroom.
“And that was Shauna pushing Jackie against the wall” Nat announced to the now very quiet bedroom, which earned a laugh from her teammates, but the only laugh Nat cared about, it came from the brunette beside her, whose head was now on her shoulder.
Charlotte Matthews, her girl.
