Seven minutes
The door shut with a slam. This was all Jackie’s idea.
“Jesus Scatorccio, don’t take the door off its hinges.” Charlotte Matthews exclaimed as she leaned against the wall.
Nat made a face. “This is Jackie’s stupid idea anyway. She just wants an excuse to kiss Shauna.”
Lottie laughed. “Fair. But hey at least she’s making a move, most of us- I don’t have the courage to do something like that.”
Natalie smirked. “Who are you trying to kiss Matthews?”
Lottie hit her lightly, before looking down. “Nobody.”
Natalie sighed. “How much time left?”
Lots glanced at her watch, “6 minutes and 47 seconds.” She announced.
The statement earned a groan from Natalie.
“Jesus, 7 minutes in heaven? We aren’t children.” She flipped her right finger toward the door, even though Jackie couldn’t see it.
“You know…… 6 minutes is gonna take forever unless we do something about it…..”
Natalie spun around to stare at the taller brunette. “You’re not suggesting-” she started.
Lottie stared at the floor. “Nat-“
Natalie sighed. “Lots, I’m not a girl kisser.” Nat said it like she was terrified, like it was hesitant and it was false. Like she herself didn’t believe it.
Lottie snorted. “Have you tried?”
The blonde shook her head, walking over to the bathroom mirror and fixing her eyeliner.
“Who was your first kiss?”
Natalie stared at Lottie’s reflection through the mirror. “Charles Andrew. Sixth grade.” She paused. “Who was yours?”
Lottie shook her head, “I don’t have one.” She looked down.
Natalie stared at her. “What do you mean you don’t have- lots have you never kissed anyone?” The brunette shook her head.
“It’s why I asked.”
“You’re like the hottest girl in our grade, how have you not?” Nat started. “Jesus c’mere.” She waited for Lottie to make her way over, hoping she would hurry up before she changed her mind.
“I want your first to be with someone who loves you. Ok? And don’t make me regret this-“ Nat pushed a piece of curly brown hair behind Lottie’s ear.
“yea.” Lottie whispered, it was all she could say.
Natalie leaned forward and brushed her lips with Lottie’s gently, it was hesitant and it was quick, only a couple seconds before she pulled away. “Oh I’m sorry-”
Lottie looked embarrassed as Nat pulled away “was I that bad?” Her voice was timid, and broken. Her eyes filling up with unshed tears.
“No Lots of course you weren’t- Jesus c’mere.” She pulled Lottie forward and cupped her face in her hands. Lottie could feel the cold metal of Nat’s rings, on her face. Lottie stopped her. “What happened to “I’m not a girl kisser.”?” Natalie smiled, and rolled her eyes.
“Shut up and let me kiss you, Matthews”
“Little desperate, huh Scatorccio?”
The statement earned an adoring smile from the blonde, before she leaned in and kissed her again.
