Just Ask Him Already, You Idiot!
Watching him interact with his friends Lynn, Alexa, Alysha and Tay, I don't know. Some form of longing came over me. It dawned on me only yesterday that this year, is my last at Hogwarts, and my last shot at trying my luck with the Slytherin, Kellin Quinn.
Ever since I first laid eyes on him, I found myself forming a small crush on the kid. Now though, after five years of being somewhat friends with him, all I can think about what it'd be like to be with him. The only problem is though, I have no idea how to ask him out. I don't even know if he's gay or if he likes me anymore than a friend.
But, it's still worth a shot to ask him out right? That's what the guys have been telling me. To suck it up and ask him out. But, I have no idea how to ask him. What if he rejects me?
"Dude, you're staring at him again." Jenna says, nudging me in the side with her elbow.
Rubbing my side, I look over at her to see her leaning up against the wall next to me as we sit with Jaime, Tony, Mike, Austin, Alan, Alex and Jack. We were all just hanging out after class, till Jenna and I had to head out to Quidditch practice in half an hour.
"Come on Jen." I sigh. "Tell me you're not staring at Tay." I retort.
She pokes her tonuge out at me, and rests her head on my shoulder. "At least I've had the decency to ask her out." She says. "You haven't bothered to ask Kellin out yet."
She has a point there. She's already asked Tay out. She's already asked her little Hufflepuff girl crush out, and she's said yes. Now she's urging me to ask the drop dead gorgeous raven haired Slytherin out. But, I'm scared to ask Kellin out. I've never asked anyone out before. What if I make a fool of myself?
Sighing, I lean my head against the wall, and just watch as Kellin hangs round with his friends underneath some tree across from where the guys, Jenna and I are sitting. He looks so adorable, I just want him to be mine. He looks so, carefree, hanging out with Lynn, Alexa. Alysha and Tay.
He looks up as he notices he's being watched, and when his eyes land on me, he blushes slightly as he smiles at me. I give him a small wave, and he looks away, blushing like crazy. Lynn notices Kellin's sudden mood change, and looks around till she spots me. Now, I couldn't exactly tell from where I'm sitting, but I swear she gave me a knowing smirk or something, before she turns to Kellin.
I'm not sure how many minutes had passed, when Jenna nudged me in the side again, bringing me back to reality.
"Dude, get up." She says, helping me up. "We've got Quidditch practice."
Sighing, I pick my bag up off the ground, before saying a quick goodbye to the guys as Jenna and I walk off to Quidditch practice.
The walk to the Quidditch field wasn't really that far from where we previously were, but Jenna and I have to tho back to the Gryffindor common room to get our brooms and get changed into our uniform, so it took the both of us a little longer to get there.
"You know, you really should just ask Kellin out already." Jenna says, as we walk out of the Gryffindor common room and outside. "It's been what? Five years since you've known the boy, and you've still not asked him out."
I sigh, shaking my head slightly. Jenna is right, but I just don't know how to ask him out. Hell, I won't even know what to do in a relationship! I've never been in one, and I really don't want to fuck it up.
"I know Jenna." I sigh. "I just don't know how." I say.
She sighs, before it seems as though she's came up with a idea. "The Yule Ball!" She exclaims. "It's coming up in a few weeks, and you can ask Kellin to go with you to that!"
I shrug. That is an idea, all I was really planning on doing on the night of the Yule Ball, is just chill out there by myself since the others all have dates, or just not go. But, that's actually a very good idea. I can ask Kellin to go with me to the dance.
"Jenna, you're a genius!" I say, stopping and throwing my arms round her in a hug. "I'll ask Kellin to be my date for the Yule Ball!"
"Great to see you're getting somewhere now." She laughs. "Now just ask him already, you idiot!" She says. "Or, figure out how's you're going to ask him."
This is the perfect way to ask Kellin out. I completely forgot about the fact that the Yule Ball is in a couple of weeks, and this could be the most easiest way I can ask Kellin out.
Though, I still need to figure out how I'm going to ask him. But, however I ask him, it has to be perfect. And, hopefully he'll say yes. Fuck, I don't want to mess it up.
"Uh, Vic?" Jenna asks after a while, distracting me from my thoughts. "Can you let me go now?"
I only just realize I'm still hugging her, and I laugh slightly, while setting her back down on the ground. "Sorry Jen." I say.
She chuckles slightly. "It's okay." She says. "Now, we need to figure out how you're going to ask Kellin out to the dance."
I nod, as we start walking again. "You're going to be helping me I hope you realize that, Jen." I say.
She pouts slightly, turning to me. "Vic, I've got to figure out how I'm going to ask Tay to the dance!" She whines. "I can't help you too!"
"Wait, I thought you've already asked Tay to the dance?" I ask.
She shakes her head. "Not yet. I need to figure out the right time to ask her." She shrugs.
We continue walking to the Quidditch field for practice, discussing how I'm going to ask Kellin to the dance, and how Jenna is going to ask Tay to the dance.
I want to make the moment I ask Kellin to the dance special, and with any luck, I can ask him to the dance before Oliver Sykes does. I've heard rumors going round that Oli is planning on asking Kellin to the dance, and, I want to do it before Oli has a chance to. Though, Oli does have more chances to see Kellin, since he's in Slytherin house along with Kellin. I just hope he hasn't asked him yet.
Finally, Jenna and I make it to Quidditch practice, and walk over to our team, who are currently just sitting around on the field waiting for the rest of us.
We sit down with them, and just talk amongst ourselves, till the remaining members of our team get here. And when they finally get here, we get right into practice.
But, my mind wasn't exactly focused on practice today. All I could really think of, was how I'm going to ask Kellin to the dance....
