The Ruins
It had been several days since the fateful day of running into the other Aes Sedai. Alessia kept to herself away from the others much as did Nynaeve. She had come to know the Wisdom a bit more. She kept seeing the woman stealing glances at Lan whenever he wasn’t looking. Alessia herself was stealing from Liandrin. She had no idea why this was. The woman intrigued her. Moiraine and Alanna had been giving her simple weave lessons as Tarna, whom she came to like more, was giving her more advanced weaves in private. Though, most days Moiraine kept her close and away from the others. The only time she had any time with Tarna Sedai was at night when most of the camp was asleep. Away from prying eyes. The summer sun was growing more hot during midday but cooled off in the evenings. The forest kept them hidden and it was cool against the hot sun. There were some days they had to sleep out in the open fields when there was no shelter nearby. Even ruins from old buildings from long ago. Alessia often wondered when they would reach the Tower. The False Dragon was slowing them down and she didn’t like it. The man was always silently smiling at her for some reason. It made her uneasy sometimes. They had finally arrived near ruins in a forest. A cave nearby. Alessia dismounted the horse she was riding and led it over to the others. Making sure it was being taken care of before she sighed a little. Feeling a tap on her shoulder as Nynaeve was next to her.
“Come help me gather firewood?” The Wisdom asked as Alessia nodded with a smile. Following the older woman down another path into the woods. She was still wearing the cloak that was too small for her. Her clothes however were all different. Liandrin had taken her clothes and burned them. She was wearing clothes that were given to her by different sisters. She was grateful for it. She was picking up sticks to carry.
“You’ve been quiet for a bit now. What’s on your mind?” Nynaeve had asked.
“Moiraine Sedai asked me a question and said to not answer it lightly.” Alessia replied.
“What was the question?” Nynaeve asked.
“Do I want to be an Aes Sedai?” Alessia asked the question.
“Well, do you?” Nynaeve asked.
“I do not know. They aren’t too bad.” Alessia spoke. In truth, she was still unsure about it.
“I don’t trust them and neither should you.” Nynaeve spoke. Alessia raised a brow at this. “They are snakes.” The Wisdom added.
“If I remember correctly, they took us in without question. Feed us and give us a place to sleep. Protecting us against the dangers outside of camp. Now they are taking us to the Tower at the cost of their energy and time.” Alessia spoke. Nynaeve gave her a hard stare before sighing.
“I suppose you are right but I cannot shake the feeling that they want something in return.” Nynaeve added.
“Well, most of them kept asking me to sign my name in a book.” Alessia spoke.
“That’s because you showed them how strong you are and they want to join them.” Nynaeve spoke. She was not wrong. She knew the sisters were all still watching her every movement. Even Liandrin was staying nearby. It made Moiraine uneasy for some reason. Alessia sighed a little as they gathered enough sticks and headed back to the clearing by the ruins.
Setting the sticks nearby but not close enough. She leaned back to stretch her back a little and sighed with a soft smile.
“Someone’s in a good mood.” Tarna’s voice came. Alessia smiled at the woman and nodded her head lightly.
“I slept well last night.” Alessia spoke. She was not going to mention that she slept alone on the ground outside. Her back was aching to this. Moiraine had made an extra bed near hers so Alessia would be nearby. Instead, Alessia wanted to be alone from the others. She had made sure to brush the dirt off her clothes before the others woke up. After her first night with them and sharing with Liandrin, it confused her and she did not know what to think or how to feel. Seeing the fire lit as Tarna simply waved her hand.
“You should teach me that.” Alessia spoke with a smile.
“Teach you what?” Moiraine’s voice had come from behind her. Alessia looked over her shoulder and smiled at the woman in blue.
“I only lit the fire.” Tarna spoke.
“No. You are still on air weaves.” Moiraine spoke. “You need to learn to use each element before combining.” Moiraine spoke. Alessia sighed and nodded her head. Tarna was smirking at her because she was past this. “Come.” Moiraine spoke as Alessia nodded and followed Moiraine. Apparently they were going out of ear shot form the others in the camp. They were alone as Lan was nearby as well.
“Where were you last night?” Moiraine asked while watching her closely.
“Asleep.” Alessia spoke.
“You were not in the bed I made.” Moiraine then spoke. Alessia was caught as she sighed.
“I don’t trust you yet. So, I slept outside.” Alessia responded.
“After everything I have done so far, you still do not trust me?” Moiraine asked. It felt like a slap.
“There is still much you haven’t told us.” Alessia spoke.
“That makes you not trust me?” Moiraine asked.
“I don’t know. There is a lot going on inside of my head right now and I can’t exactly sort everything out.” Alessia confessed. Feeling her cheek cupped as she was forced to look into Moiraine’s blue eyes. How could she dislike the look Moiraine was giving her?
“What’s on your mind?” Moiraine asked. It was in a tone that she did not recognize. It was different.
“Am I to sign my name in the book once we get to the Tower?” Alessia asked.
“Not right away. No. You will though.” Moiraine answered as Alessia nodded her head.
“Was that all?” Moiraine asked. Alessia nodded her head at this. There was much more but she did not know how to sort it out just yet. “Come. We are expected to be in camp. It’s my turn to shield the False Dragon.” Moiraine spoke.
“Why did he claim the title?” Alessia asked. Moiraine was slowly walking back towards the camp as she followed.
“To gain an army. They were heading to the White Tower.” Moiraine spoke. Alessia gasped at this.
“They were going to attack the Tower?” Alessia asked as Moiraine nodded her head at this. Alessia didn’t think anyone in their right mind would do that but then again, that man was not in his right mind.
“Where are you going?” Moiraine asked as Alessia turned into a different direction.
“I want to be alone for a moment.” Alessia spoke.
“Don’t forget. You have a lesson after my shift.” Moiraine reminded her. She nodded and watched the blue ajah disappear into the cave.
After Moiraine had left, Alessia decided to check out the ruins nearby. She wasn’t warned about them or anything. If it was dangerous or not. Slowly walking inside as she looked around everywhere. The stone walls were crumbled and old with time. Nature had taken it back as vines were growing everywhere. Grass was tall on the floor. She could still feel the stone under her boots as she was tracing her fingertips over the carvings on the walls. She didn’t understand what they meant. Maybe someone did? Hearing another pair of footsteps as she looked over her shoulder. Liandrin was walking up to her with her hands behind her back. Alessia felt an arm wrap around her shoulder as the woman in red came up to her.
“Find anything interesting?” Liandrin asked.
“What is this place?” Alessia asked.
“It used to be a temple to the Forsakens.” Liandrin replied.
“What’s a Forsaken?”
“The Dark One’s most powerful followers. There were thirteen of them. His generals led his armies back then. To rule the world forever. They were also known as Chosen.” Liandrin was giving her a history lesson.
“What happened to them? The Forsakens?” She wanted to know more.
“When the last Dragon was alive before he broke the world, he took the men of the Aes Sedai and went to seal the Dark One. Sealing the Forsakens with him. Since the women did not want to join him in that. He tainted the men’s side of Power. It’s why they go mad.” Linadrin said. Alessia was listening closely to this. She wanted to know more. She gently leaned against the older woman who seemed to smile at this while looking at the carvings.
“Can you read them?” Alessia asked.
“Yes. It lists the names of the Forsakens and how powerful they were.” Liandrin spoke.
“I wish I could read Old Tongue.” Alessia sighed. Feeling her shoulder squeezed.
“You will learn at the Tower along with other classes.” Liandrin spoke. Alessia smiled lightly at this.
“Bet you are excited to get started?” Liandrin asked.
“I’m not sure.” Alessia spoke at this. Feeling the woman in red pull away a little.
“What do you mean?” Liandrin asked.
“Moiraine Sedai asked if I wanted to be an Aes Sedai. She told me to not take the answer lightly. To think about it.” Alessia explained. “I haven’t put much thought into it.” Alessia added.
“Hmm.” Liandrin spoke before pulling Alessia back into the side hug. “Being an Aes Sedai isn’t some glory and all good things.” Liandrin added as Alessia looked at her with a confused look. “It’s about work. Dedication. Doing what you believe is right. Aes Sedai means Servants of All. We serve the people in many different ways.” Liandrin explained.
“I’ve noticed that you and your sisters wear different colors.” Alessia spoke. The woman in red nodded her head.
“Yes, there are seven different ajahs.” Liandrin spoke as she sat down and leaned against the wall. Patting the ground next to her as Alessia sat as well.
“Tell me about them?” Alessia asked.
“You are a mighty curious one aren’t you?” Liandrin chuckled. Alessia nodded. Feeling the red wrap her arm around her again, she leaned into the touch. “You meet three. Red, blue, and green. My ajah we make sure no one uses the one power and abuses it. We hunt down men who channel and gentle them. We do not take warders. Blue like Moiraine are secret keepers. They have eyes and ears everywhere. They favor justice and righteousness. Gray are our teachers. For Novices and Accepteds. They favor politics and harmony. White for truth and philosophy. Brown are the keepers of knowledge even from ancient times. Which we are still learning about. Yellow are our healers. They are the most compassionate of us. The green ajah are our battle ajahs. They stand ready for the last battle.” Liandrin explained. Alessia did not miss a single word Liandrin had told her. She nodded her head to show that she understood.
“Do you teach at the Tower?” Alessia asked. Seeing the woman in red shook her head.
“No. They do not allow me to teach any Novices.” Liandrin added.
“How come?” Alessia was pushing.
“Enough questions for now. I believe you have a lesson now.” Liandrin spoke as Alessia nodded and stood up. Seeing that it was starting to get dark now. She did not know how long she was in here with Liandrin. It felt like no time had passed at all.
“Anyone see Alessia?” Moiraine’s voice called in the camp.
“Best if you go. She’s looking for you.” Liandrin spoke as Alessia nodded her head. She was stopped as Liandrin cupped her cheek. Her eyes met the light blue ones. Those eyes. They had something in them. She couldn’t read it.
“If you decide you want to be one of us. I’d like to take you under my wing once you become an Accepted.” Liandrin spoke. Alessia did not know what this meant but it sent a warmth through her body as she nodded her head. Seeing the woman smile melted her heart before watching her take her leave. Alessia remained where she was while looking at the walls again.
“There you are.” Moiraine’s voice came as she turned to look at the woman in blue and smiled.
“Here I am.” Alessia spoke.
“Why didn’t you come when I called?” Moiraine asked.
“I was absorbed with the different things in here.” Alessia spoke. “Like I was drawn to this.” She added while looking back at the walls. Tracing her finger over a carving.
“That’s Lanfear. Known as the Daughter of Night. The most powerful female Aes Sedai.” Moiraine spoke as she read the carving on the wall.
“This one?” Alessia asked.
“Ishamael. Betrayer of Hope.” Moiraine answered. “Also known as the Dark One’s strongest follower.”
“And this?” Alessia asked as she traced her finger over another one. It had webbings all over it. She was very drawn to it for some reason. Like energy coming from it.
“Moghedien.” Moiraine spoke. “It means.” Before she was cut off.
“Spider.” Alessia spoke. “It’s the only word I know from Old Tongue.” Alessia explained Moiraine’s confused look.
“She was a powerful Aes Sedai. Though the weakest of the Forsakens. They said she was the first to turn to the Dark One.” Moiraine added.
“I wonder why.” She spoke. Alessia felt her arm gently grabbed as she was being led away. Her eyes were still on the carvings before following Moiraine back into the camp.
“Time for your lesson. We will work with fire today.” Moiraine spoke as Alessia got excited at this. She looked around camp again and saw Tarna nod at her with a smile before taking her leave to the edge of the camp to take watch. Alessia followed Moiraine to the green tent and entered. Seeing Alanna already sitting and waiting for them.
“Hello dear.” Alanna spoke with a smile. Alessia returned the smile and gave her a bow. She was eating red berries. She was offered one. Alessia smiled and took one. Found out it was a strawberry. She smiled at the taste before sitting down.
“Tonight, we are lighting a candle. Simple.” Moiraine spoke as she showed Alessia the weave. “You must find the heat of the fire. Once you do, you can pull the weaves from it and create what you want with it.” Moiraine explained as Alessia nodded. “Now try.” Moiraine spoke once she lit the candle. Alessia nodded. Closing her eyes and pulled the weave and lit the candle next to it without moving her hands.
“You need to use your hands to weave.” Moiraine explained. “Again.” Alessia lifted her hands and recreated the weave. Lighting the candle with ease.
“Powerful and can use the weaves she saw once. Where did you find her, Moiraine?” Alanna asked with a smile.
“She found us actually.” Moiraine spoke.
“I see. Keep her close. I see our sisters watching her.” Alanna warned before eating another berry.
“I plan on it. I’ll take her under my wing.” Moiraine spoke while putting a strand of hair behind her ear.
“What does that mean?” Alessia asked.
“Mmm. She’s new to our way of life.” Alanna spoke with a smile. “It means an Aes Sedai is willing to take an Accepted under for more private things.” Alanna explained. Alessia raised a brow at this.
“One has to be a Novice before then right?” Alessia asked as Alanna nodded her head. “Once you are raised to Acceptance, Moiraine will be your primary teacher but on more personal levels as well.” Alanna spoke.
“I thought we had classes as well?” Alessia asked.
“My dear! How innocent you are. It’s an intimate thing as well!” Alanna chuckled. Alessia tilted her head to the side with a confused look.
“Have you not had any talk on the topic of sex and relationships?” Alanna asked.
“Oh!” Alessia blushed with embarrassment.
“Now she gets it!” Alanna laughed as plates of dinner were being handed out. Alessia stood up and bowed before taking her leave rather quickly.
She was sitting by the fire with the plate in her hands. It was empty since she finished eating. She was just staring into the fire. Now she knew what it meant and it made her feel weird. Well, around Moiraine since she wanted the same thing as Liandrin did.
“Earth to Alessia.” A voice whispered into her ear as she jumped. Tarna was sitting next to her. “You alright?” She asked.
“Yes. Sorry.” Alessia spoke. In truth, she was in her head a lot recently.
“I was asking if you were ready for a new lesson once everyone passes out?” Tarna asked in a whisper. Alessia nodded her head with a smile.
“Always!” Alessia spoke back. Tarna patted her shoulder and stood up. Taking her leave. Alessia looked across the fire and saw that Liandrin was watching her. She had a smirk on her face and she winked. Winked at her. Alessia blushed and quickly looked away. She stood up and walked over to the makeshift table with the dishes and bucket. She decided to do them tonight. Feeling a presence next to her as she recognized the red ring that all Aes Sedai wore. Feeling her shoulder bumped, Alessia kept looking at the dishes as she was washing them.
“What are you and sister Tarna up to?” Liandrin asked as she took the dishes from Alessia and weaved them dry.
“N..nothing.” Alessia managed to stutter.
“Do not lie to me dear.” Liandrin warned her. Alessia looked around before returning to the dishes.
“She’s teaching me things. Things that Moiraine Sedai doesn’t want me to learn yet.” Alessia replied.
“I can teach you many things as well.” Liandrin spoke in her ear. This sent a wave of sensation all over her as something new had woken up inside of her. She felt her cheeks burn like an inferno. Feeling her cheeks cupped as she was forced to look at the woman in red.
“My my. Dear you are red as a rose.” Liandrin spoke with a chuckle.
“I..I should go.” Alessia spoke.
“Very well. Remember the red tent is open. I know you slept outside. Next time join the red.” Liandrin spoke as Alessia nodded. She quickly looked away and took her leave.
She had found Tarna not far from the camp as they were in a clearing. Looking around as she was not followed. Most of the camp was already out like a light. Alessia yawned lightly and stretched before nodding at Tarna who set her book down.
“You alright? Your face is very red.” Tarna spoke.
“Yes. I just have a lot of new feelings that I am not used to.” Alessia spoke.
“Want to talk about it?” Tarna asked.
“I thought you wanted a lesson?” Alessia asked. Tarna sat back down on the stump.
“Yes, we can once you get your mind sorted out.” Tarna spoke as Alessia sat next to her.
“Liandrin Sedai said she wanted to take me under her wing. As did Moiraine.” Alessia spoke. “I haven’t decided if I want to become an Aes Sedai.” She added.
“What is it that you really want?” Tarna asked. Alessia pondered for a moment. She had never been asked that before.
“I want to get stronger. Be better.” Alessia spoke while looking up to the stars.
“So join us at the White Tower. Lean on us and we can help you become stronger.” Tarna spoke.
“I would have to bind myself to the Tower?” Alessia asked as Tarna nodded.
“It’s not all that bad. We have our own goals, hopes, and dreams as well.” Tarna spoke. “Also, sister Liandrin has never taken anyone under her wing. You should feel honored.” Tarna added as Alessia nodded her head. “Sister Moiraine however.” Alessia looked at her. “She goes to and from the Tower so often. I assume it's for a mission or whatever. She’s up to something.” Tarna spoke. Alessia knew some about her mission. About the Dragon Reborn. She still wasn't sure.
“She doesn’t stay at the Tower?” Alessia asked.
“No. She comes and goes as she pleases.” Tarna replied.
“So, we don’t have to live our whole life at the Tower?” Alessia asked.
“Goodness. No. The majority of our life, yes. We do get to retire but we still have to live by the oaths. Once you become an Aes Sedai, you are not done with the Tower until the Tower is done with you.” Tarna spoke.
“I think I understand.” Alessia spoke.
“Good! Now. Time for the lesson.” Tarna spoke as Alessia nodded and stood up.
“I am going to teach you a shield of air. It protects you from the one power being used against you in a battle.” Tarna explained as she weaved. Creating the shield.
“I thought only the green were taught for battles?” Alessia asked.
“No. We are all taught by all the ajahs before we rise to the shawl.” Tarna spoke.
“Wait, so I will be learning about each ajah?” Alessia asked. Tarna threw some fire at her. Alessia was quick with her hands. Recreating the shield in time as it hit.
“You will be joining each ajah to learn from them.” Tarna explained.
“Assuming I want to be an Aes Sedai.” Alessia spoke as she held it up. Tarna was going harder. Increasing the fire against her.
“Not everyone is cut out to be an Aes Sedai. Some people fail at this.” Tarna spoke as she dropped her weave as did Alessia. Her energy was greatly drained and she wobbled a little.
“You are lucky to be joining us.” A new voice came. Alessia turned on the spot as Liandrin was leaning against a tree, smiling at them.
“What do you mean?” Alessia asked.
“You are a Wilder if I am correct?” The woman in red asked as ALessia nodded her head. “You learned how to channel outside of the Tower. Not many survive that. Usually when young girls touch the source, they are sent to the Tower. You however weren’t.” Liandrin added while walking up to them.
“What do you mean?” Alessia asked. Feeling her shoulder rubbed by Liandrin while looking at Tarna.
“Most people who touch the source tend to burn out. Killing themselves in the process. Without guidance on control, they die. Some very few are lucky. Like yourself and your friend.” Tarna explained.
“I see. I’ll be learning to control it at the Tower?” Alessia asked.
“That and more.” Liandrin spoke. “Come. Time to get some rest.” The woman in red added.
“There’s an extra bed in the red tent if you want to join?” Tarna asked as Alessia nodded her head with a smile before following the two red sisters back to the camp.
“Where were you?” A worried voice came.
“No need to worry sister Moiraine.” Liandrin spoke as she put her hands behind her back.
“I told you to stay put.” Moiraine spoke while grabbing Alessia’s arm.
“She is fine, sister.” Tarna spoke as she placed a hand on Alessia’s shoulder.
“I am fine.” Alessia spoke and moved from all three of them. They all looked at her. “Get some rest. I’ll be right in Moiraine Sedai.” Alessia spoke. Moiraine nodded her head and left back into the green tent.
“I thought.” Liandrin began.
“Please. I just want to be left alone with my thoughts.” Alessia spoke. Liandrin nodded with a worried look before taking her leave with Tarna. Once alone, Alessia left back towards the ruins that she was in earlier. Taking her cloak off and laying down. Why was she so drawn to the ruins here? Looking up as she could see the stars again. The moon glowed around the area. The wind was soft as Alessia closed her eyes. Listening to the wind. Hearing her name whispered by three different voices. Three female voices. It confused her.
“What are you trying to say?” Alessia whispered back to the wind before it squealed louder. As if there were voices screaming at her.
Alessia sat up quickly with a gasp. Looking around as she was in a different area. It had been weeks since the ruins? Alessia looked around the camp. She had fallen asleep by the fire. The fire was not lit. The ashes from the burned wood were cold. Alessia moved her hand and weaved fire. Lighting the fire again as she sat up straighter. Hugging her knees.
“Someone is up early?” Nynaeve’s voice came as she walked over and sat down.
“I think I passed out from the fire.” Alessia spoke.
“Don’t blame you. Lan and Moiraine were having a row last night. It was hard to sleep.” Nynaeve sighed a little.
“About what?” Alessia asked.
“Moiraine argues that we need to be on the road night and day. We would have been back at the Tower by now. Lan argues that we need to take it safely because of the false Dragon.” Nynaeve spoke. Alessia nodded her head. They had been on the road for over a month now. Well, it has been longer since she came from Tarabon.
“Alessia?” Tarna’s voice came as she looked over her shoulder. The woman motioned her head to follow.
“I’ll be back.” Alessia spoke as Nynaeve was glaring at the woman in red. She followed Tarna to a more private area of the camp.
“Liandrin wondered where you were last night and all the nights before.” Tarna started.
“I passed out near the fire.” Alessia spoke.
“You should let her know. She gets worried.” Tarna added as Alessia nodded her head. “That’s not why I asked you over here.” The red ajah added. Alessia raised her brow.
“What is it?” She asked.
“Liandrin is gaining support from our sisters. She wants to gentle the false Dragon here and now.” Tarna spoke.
“I thought he was to stand trial?” Alessia asked.
“Yes, in my opinion, he is too strong and he murdered innocent people.” Tarna sighed while crossing her arms. Leaning against the tree. “She wanted your input.”
“I’m not part of the Tower. I have no say.” Alessia replied.
“You are now. Believe it or not. We do care about you.” Tarna added. Alessia was silent for the moment.
“Where is everyone?” She asked as the camp was silent.
“Most are on patrol. Liandrin and Kerene are in the cave with Logain.” Tarna spoke.
“If he killed innocent people, why is he still alive?” Alessia asked. Seeing Tarna smile at her.
“Liandrin knew you’d agree with her.” Tarna spoke as Alessia nodded her head at this. Hearing voices shouting and scattered feet all around them, Alessia pushed herself off the tree.
“Something’s wrong.” She spoke.
“Come on!” Tarna spoke as she took the lead and ran back to the camp with Alessia quickly following.
Once they arrived, Alessia saw the camp was now a mess. She frowned at this.
“What’s going on?” Alessia asked as Lan ran up to her.
“It’s the King’s army. He’s come for Logain.” Stephin’s voice came.
“How many?” Lan asked.
“Don’t worry, I’ll save some for you!” Stephin laughed as they drew their weapons. Alessia began to weave. Calling the One Power to her as screams were now heard.
“There!” Tarna shouted as a row of men were in front of them.
“Archers!” A man shouted. “Release!” He added. Hearing the arrows shoot up as Alessia was quicker. Shielding them from the arrows as they were stopped in midair. Looking over her shoulders as Alanna was also weaving. She flung her arm down and they could hear the arrows hitting the men that shot them.
“Get to Logain!” Alanna shouted. Alessia felt her arm get yanked by Lan as Nynaeve was following. Seeing Tarna stand next to Alanna as they were now in battle. Alessia felt her heart race as she was running as fast as she could after Lan who was now holding Nynaeve’s hand. Once they had entered the cave, Alessia saw Kerene. The kind green ajah she had come to like now laying motionless.
“He killed our sister! I will cut. Him. Down!” Liandrin’s voice came as they arrived. Alessia saw the woman in red channeling so much, it was so bright she had to shield her eyes a little.
“No!” She shouted as Liandrin turned to see her. Stephin shouted and ran towards Logain with his weapons. Everything happened so fast. Alessia heard a scream and the next thing she knew she was sitting up. Feeling something sharp in her arm as she looked around. Trying to make out what was happening. She saw Liandrin on the ground next to her as she moved closer. Pulling the broken piece of weapon out. Holding onto the wound to stop the bleeding. Seeing Moiraine in worse shape. Lan however was gagging. His neck was sliced open. Alessia gasped as she was channeling. Trying to heal the wounds. Hearing a scream as she looked up. Her hands were still on Liandrin as a blinding white orb had lit up the entire cave and covered everyone. Alessia looked down and saw all wounds instantly healed. She looked back at Nyaneve.
“Like a raging sun.” Logain spoke. Nynaeve was now holding onto Lan tightly as she was glaring at Logain.
“Link with me! Now!” Liandrin shouted as she was now standing up. Alessia stood up as well. “You must open yourself up to me entirely.” Liandrin spoke to Alessia who nodded.
“Don’t!” Moiraine shouted at her.
“We don’t have time!” Liandrin shouted.
“Hurry!” Alessia added. Feeling the power taken from her as she gasped. She could feel everyone linking with Liandrin.
“Let the hand of the Tower fall upon you Logain Ablar and let nature take back what it wishes for you to not hold!” Liandrin shouted as Alessia saw from the corner of her eyes as all the sisters moved together in unison. Hearing Logain scream as he was raised into the air. Alessia was trying to keep her breathing steady as more power was being drawn from her. Grunting as Logain had fallen to the ground. She assumed he was stripped of his power.
“Chain him. We will leave here soon.” Liandrin ordered.
Alessia was helping pack up the camp to anywhere they needed help.
“Let our sisters mourn.” Liandrin spoke to Moiraine who was protesting to leave right away. The others wanted to lay Kerene to rest. Seeing Stephin was crying on his knees as Lan was hugging him from the side. She didn’t understand the bond between an Aes Sedai and their warders.
“You alright?” A voice made her jump. She nodded at Tarna who motioned for her to follow. She did. On the other side of the camp, she was picking up the poles that held the tents up. Folding the fabrics before carrying them to the wagon that held the false Dragon. Alessia was staring at him as he was to her.
“Why?” Alessia asked. The man only smiled. She began to weave air a little. Her weave flowed towards the man’s neck. She was slowly making a fist. Tightening the weave around his neck. Hearing him grunt a little. She felt a slight smirk but pushed it back.
“The Aes Sedai are nothing but selfish pawns.” He spat. Alessia felt anger rise as she tightened her weave as he was now gasping for air.
“Alessia?” A voice made her drop the weave as she looked over her shoulder. Liandrin motioned for her to follow and she did. “Are you alright?” Liandrin asked as Alessia nodded her head. “Come. We are laying them to rest.” The woman in red spoke as ALessia nodded and followed. Feeling her cloak taken and thrown into the fire.
“Hey!” Alessia protested as a red cloak was wrapped around her shoulders.
“That’s better. Come.” The older woman spoke. She followed in silence. Standing by Nynaeve as Alanna was singing in Old Tongue. It was soothing to listen to her sing. Seeing the dead buried in a circle for the wheel.
“How long does it take?” Alessia asked Nynaeve who looked at her. “For the Wheel of Time to send someone back?” She asked.
“I do not know. I guess when the soul is ready again?” Nynaeve asked as the funeral was now finished. Everyone had left. Alessia was alone now.
“Come. We are leaving.” Liandrin’s voice spoke as Alessia looked at her. “What is it?” The red ajah asked.
“I want to be an Aes Sedai.”
