Chris Smith wasn't expecting to find Gut at the door to his office. The last time they spoke was 13 years ago at their Hogwarts Graduation.
"Hey, Peacemaker." The use of his old nickname gives Chris a happy feeling, he hasn't felt in a while. His job is often harsh and he finds himself taking it home more often then not. He only has his partner, Leota, as a buffer from the serious and intensely triggering cases. No other friends or distractions. Chris finds himself depressed, stressed and angry most nights. The days in which he laughed and felt carefree are long gone. Days, he once spent playing quiddicth or partying with Gut and the other gryffindors. Don't get him wrong, he loves his job and feels an overwhelming sense of duty. He would never quit, being a wizard cop is his lives mission. No matter how awful he feels at the end of the day, saving people is worth it. Afterall, he's saved many young wizard children from monsters like his father.
"Good to see you, Gut."
"It's my bad for being out of the country for so long but I need a small favour from you, if you don't mind?" Even after all this time, Chris would always say yes to any favour Gut asked. The man was a friend to him when no one cared to understand him. He was the one of the only people Chris had told about his abusive father.
"Of course, What can I help you with?"
"I'm only in town for my partner's mothers funeral so, I will be leaving in a few days. My brother, you probably don't remember him, needs some help. A place to stay and some one who can watch over him while I'm gone."
"He's not going with you?"
"He graduated Hogwarts about 4 years ago and was with me in Greece but now, he's got a job lined up and prospects here. I don't trust him not to cause trouble. I'm his big brother, man. I worry."
"No shot."
"Come on, He's not as annoying as he was when we were young."
"I only remember meeting him one time and he hid a bunch of coins in my bags and sicked a bunch of stolen Nifflers on me."
"He's definetly calmed down since then. Please."
"Fine but only because your my oldest friend. Keep in touch this time, man."
Gut and his partner left the country shortly after but not before helping move his younger brothers things into Chris's house, a small and old house in the middle of London. The brother had yet to show up. appartently he was away training for his new job.

Adrian has never been more excited for anything in his life. He's somehow managed to bag his dream job, working with the care of magical creatures divison at the minisrty. His specialty is Mermaids and in good time, he's sure he will finally have the cure for his humaness. A potion that will permitently transform him into a mermaid. Until then, he's also managed to convince his brother to let him stay in London and not just that but also stay with Chris Smith. His Brother's best friend from Hogwarts. He only met the guy a couple times given their 9 year age gap.
They never went to hogwarts together and Chris had "home life" problems. Whatever that meant. But the times they had met were memoriable if only for the fact that Adrian had never fallen harder. It wasn't a normal crush or at least not his standards for a normal crush. This was all consuming. He wanted to know everything about the man, wanted to consume all the information he could about the mans interests, the mans jobs, and the mans inner thoughts. He wanted to change himself to be Chris' perfect type. Adrian wanted to get a job at the ministry just so he could see THE Peacemaker as much as he could. The last part he had managed to secure. Now, he just needed to very cooly and casually achieve everything else on his list without scaring the man away.
He had even given himself a stupid nickname like the ones his brother and Chris would call themselves. Although, Gut refused to call him Vigilante most times.
Today was the day. After over 10 years, they were meeting again. Adrian has built this moment up in his head many times. He finds himself outside of an old London townhouse. According to his brother, the place has only two bedrooms, the one he's staying used to be Chris' storage room. Adrian knocks on the door and waits with baited breathe.
"Hello, you're Gut's brother, right?" THE Peacemaker answers the door rather quickly.
"Yes! You can call me Adrian or Vigilante or V. I could call you P, like P & V. Or you could call me Addie but no one has ever called me that, that would be stupid. Wait does P & V seem like Penis and Vagina to you? Not that I meant it that way when I-"
"You gonna stop tweaking or?" Chris seems unimpressed. Fuck, Adrian, you are fucking this up already.
"Sorry, yes, I'm your new roomie."
"Your room is down the hall. Gut put everything away. There's a couple house rules: You can be messy in your own space but leave the communal spaces spotless, Do not go in my room without premission, I will probably be gone at random times for a number of hours or days but that is not an invitation to invite random people over or have parties, and lastly, if you have anyone over, sex stays in your room. You can be adventurous in your own home. Not mine. I get one glimpse of that pasty ass in the kitchen and you're kicked out, best friends brother or not."
"All sounds good to me. I'm so thankful for you letting me stay here."
"Just obey the rules and we won't have any problems."

Over the next few weeks, Adrian sets out on his plan to torture and tempt the older man into loving him. His seduction plan seems to be working. He finds any excuse to be as little clothed as possible without being indecent, he cooked for Chris once but that didn't go as planned and he had nearly burned down the house, and he also takes the time to visit him on his lunch breaks and act interested in the man. Chris seems to get flustered when he sees Adrian running around in crop tops and low raise jeans. He also seems to enjoy the packed lunchs Adrian makes him. They're packed with take out food since he's been banned from the kitchen. Food is the way to a mans heart according to the books he's read.
The only problem is Chris isn't seeming to get the hint. He has not once made an attempt to ravish Adrian or even just ask him out on a date. He seems to be acting difficult on purpose. Adrian has unfortunately never been known to be paitent. He's never been the kind of guy to keep his cool. So, after weeks of waiting for Chris to get the hint, he looses it.
"Is there a reason you wont just fuck me?" He shouts at the man after he arrives home late one night from a long shift.
"Uh-What?" Chris startles, cheeks flushing.
"Because I know it's not because you're straight. Everyone and their mothers know about that Howler your dad sent where he outted you to the whole school. So is it just me then? Am I not attractive or fuckable? I know I'm nerdy-"
"You're Gut's brother. I could never-"
"Bullshit. You don't even see Gut anymore and if you think he doesn't know about my stupid crush on you then you're more dumb then you look." He doesn't allow Chris room to commuticate back to him, going full ramble mode.
"But we shouldn't and you're like 9 years younger than me-"
"Oh, please. Our age gap is barely laughable. Besides it's not like our relationship is the most taboo out of your old hogwarts friends. Half the guys you talk to back in school married their cousins. What is wrong with the wizarding world and these pureblooded freaks. Do you find me unattractive? Just say so if thats the problem! Would you rather marry your cousin???" Adrian shouted getting progressively more upset as he is a tweaker.
"If you would stop cutting me off, I would tell you that you are attractive to me. I like a lot of types and you're- yea, you are hot in a nerdy way. But I don't think I can do that to Gut."
"You won't fuck me because of Gut? OMG, are you in love with my brother?" Adrain starts making gagging noises and re-enacting vomiting and dying on the ground.
"Listen, My job makes it so my life isn't glamorus. I have really rough days and I don't know if I can be the partner you want. And I defintely am not in love with Gunther 'Gut' Chase."
"Well, Would you love me if I was a mermaid?"
"What?"
"I am trying to turn myself into a mermaid. That's my work. If you can handle that then I think I can handle your shit. I mean killing and death isn't that big of a deal." Chris finds himself wanting to dig deeper into that but he's too busy wrapping his head around the crazy shit this man has been saying. "I am also trying to figure out a way for me to experience motherhood but that's not super related right now. We can discuss it later as the relationship progresses."
"I want to have sex with you, yes." Chris finds himself saying. Moving on from this conversation as fast as possible seems like the best option. Also, Chris really does just want to have sex. It's been a disgustinly long time since he last got his dick wet. Probably years. He's been too depressed. His last relationship had been short and ended so awfully he hadn't wanted to be with anyone like that for a bit. Adrian also was super sexy in a lean nerdy himbo way. Chris had caught him dancing half naked in the living room more than once to Taylor Swift of all things. Maybe he could see a future relationship with the guy. Afterall, seeing him everyday on his lunch breaks always puts a smile on his face.
"Omg, Really? I mean I hoped you would but for real? You're nt just saying that to get me to shut up. You really wanna?"
"Yes, Shut up and go get naked in my room."
