James knew he wasn't normal.
He knew that when nobody else was talking about how drop dead gorgeous Lily Evans was.
He knew he had problems.
He hadn't thought they were as big as his parents thought they were He knew he was wrong for nearly attempting to sneak into her dormitory
but he didn't so no harm Done.
When he looked at Lily, he thought he was looking at his future.
Until he met regulus
He was sitting next to Remus that day.
as they Waited for sirius He had told them before they left for that year that he was going to bring someone special to the compartment.
he doesn't know what he expected But it certainly wasn't for the most Beautiful boy alive to to walk Through the doors
James now understood he wasn't in love with Lily. but as he looks at regulus.He realized what true love was at that moment He couldn't breathe as he looked at the most BeautIful star
Unfortunately, there Visit was short Lived as regulus left the copartment not soon after to go Join his cousins
He knew the others were giving him strange looks.He hadn't said a thing about lily evans
when they Got back to school. He hadn't looked in her direction. Less than a month into school that year, James had asked sirius if he could begin courting regulus. He was a pureblood after all he knew what their parents wanted if he wanted to be in a relationship with regulus
sirius like the overprotective brother that he was beat the shit out of him.

he kept asking sirius day and night. sirius Responses were either to flip him off. Yell at him or to beat the shit out.
until regulus 3rd year Came around
It started like any other day. They woke up, they brush their teeth. They put on their robes And left their dorm. like they do every day and just like Every other day james looked at sirius before beginning to plead.
"please sirius you know i will treat him right"
and just like every other day sirius response was the same.
"no james i don't what you or anyone to be with him"
Regulus watched as his brother shot down James day after day.
Wondering if james is going to be able to fulfill his promise.

Regulus Black never thought he would fall in love. How could he? Take a look at his parents relationship.
So when he saw james he thought nothing of it, until. He was walking to the great hall when he heard it. "Please sirius" james. Why was james begging sirius- Before regulus could finish the thought sirius spoke up. "No james." He said it with so much anger regulus thought he would strangled James in the next moment.
Regulus decided to walk to them before anything could excellent.
James was ready to be smacked over the head but. before that he noticed his love his star regulus. walking towards them
sirius notice him too. Of course sirius wouldn't do anything now that regulus was here.
Regulus soft spot for James was no secret, even though he would vehemently deny that he had a soft spot for anyone but everyone knew the truth.
The most damming piece of evidence was touch regulus was not fond of touch. he hated when people touched him. the only exception to that rule was sirius and James. if anyone else try to swing their arm over his shoulder they would probably be hexed.
He wasn't even all that fond when his own brother did it but he was suspiciously quiet when James does it. "What are you two brainless idiots arguing about." Regulus looked between sirius and james as he spoke his flat voice sent shivers up james spine Sirius squacked loudly "ah brother you wound me!" Regulus looked sirius. scowling slightly at the volume " keep your volume down you baboon"
Sirius drink hot tea that night to help with the sore throat he got from screeching at his brother.

The 'promise' was made on regulus 2nd year and james 3rd james had promise regulus to marry him as soon as they got out of hogwarts, regulus was mortified when the guy he had a massive crush on cornered him in an empty hallway and told him he liked him. After the modification subsided a little bit they talked. James confessed about how he had liked regulus from the beginning, and how he had started asking sirius if he could Court regulus. he also told regulus of sirus responses to him asking. regulus was not happy.
