Chapter 14
Dear Sirius
I went out to buy bread today and someone hit on me.
Nothing too crazy, just a teenage girl asking for my phone number, but I could hardly comprehend what was happening.
What shocked me the most wasn't that it was a teenager, or that it was a girl. It was that she completely ignored my wedding ring.
Of course I grabbed my bread, and told her no, that I was married, but do you know what she tried to say?
She said that she had never seen me come in here with another person before, therefore my relationship must be strained.
Then like it was a perfectly normal thing to offer, she offered to be my side chick.
I was able to get away, without seeming rude I don't think, but this just reminded me that when we used to go to the store together.
There are three types of people around me at the grocery store.
Those who see my scars and avoid me.
Those who see my scars and hit on me. (For some reason they seem to think cornering someone covered with scars in a grocery store is the way to woo them)
And lastly, those who see my scars, and make nasty or loud remarks.
Do you remember once when we went to the store together in our 5th or 6th year?
All these other kids packed into the small space, all pointing, and asking if I tried to fight a rabbid bear. All loud, and trying to get me the answer their question first.
But you just grabbed my hand and led me away. You made me feel safe.
You saved me.
In more ways than I can possibly count.
Now I can't even go to the grocery store alone...
I want to save you too.
Moony~
