Chapter 7

Dear padfoot

They say people go crazy in Azkaban. Something about being so close to dementors just degrades the human brain.

Did you catch that pads? Human brain.

This week I've found myself drawn to books about the creation of Azkaban. And no matter how hard I try to ignore it, it's because of you.

I know you're in there and it hurts you. Every brick of that place was designed to kill or hurt it's prisoners, and I know your cell is no different.

The dementors were made to attack people, but if you shift into a dog, they shouldn't be able to drive you crazy. I don't know of anything that would help with the cold though.

I probably sound like I'm insane, always muttering about the effects that dementors leave on animals.

The Marauders wouldn't have thought I was crazy. You would have gone out of you way to learn about dementors so you could talk to me about it.

At least that's what you did when I was going on and on about a muggle band I enjoyed.

You pulled Peter and James away and forced them to listen to close to twenty hours of that bands songs. That week when I was humming one of my favorite songs, Peter began to sing with me without really thinking about it.

That's when he told me what you had done.

It still means the world to me, all the little things you three did for me.

I still have that album of theirs you got for me.
