Note
This was inspired by something that I read which was very upsetting and upset me greatly. But like any good artist, I turned the sadness and pain that I felt while reading it, and turned it into something that captures the magnificence of the world and deep within us.Here's the piece that inspired it all if you want. I would not recommend you to read this if you have a low tolerance for blood, rape, suicidal thoughts and bad endings. So read at your own risk.https://archiveofourown.org/works/55122826/chapters/139771018CW: light smut A. K. A: masturbation. And some slight gore at the end.

Prologue

Theo- Catnap doesn't know how long he's been staring at the ceiling, he thought he died but apparently he didn't. He can't exactly move, though he hasn't tried, he's too scared to look around because he's just facing a corner. He could hear with the very different ears that he has on his head. Voices behind him, talking about him. He isn't sure what they are saying but he's just guessing that it's about him, why wouldn't they be? He's only seen a glimpse of himself and he already knows what kind of a monster he looks like. Catnap was his favourite Smiling Critter too, but to become him like this didn't feel good. Hell, Catnap was already calling himself Catnap. So long Theodore Grambell, the adolescent. Catnap slowly turned himself around to survey his situation, seeing that he is in a bare white room with a viewing window and a door. More than likely a cell. Then he looked over his new body. Catnap didn't look like this. Catnap was supposed to be cute and soft, not large, tall, and lanky. Looking like a strange creature, and less like a cat. The viewing window was blacked out on Catnap's end, but he didn't have to wait long until the person behind the door showed himself by opening the door.

"Good Morning, Catnap. You're no longer the Theodore Grambell that you used to know, you're Catnap now." The man in a lab coat said to him in a cold and clinical voice. Catnap shifted his weight off to the side a little bit, weary of the doctor in front of him.

"Heh. Well you've actually been acting the most compliant experiment so far." The doctor said, jotting down something on a clipboard while smirking lightly. Catnap then tried to speak for the first time, he just wanted to know his name. That's it.

"Who are you?" A deep and soft voice comes out of his mouth. It's almost soothing if you didn't know what creature it came from. The doctor looked impressed by the voice, as he excitedly jotted down some more.

"Ahem. I'm Doctor Harley Sawyer. You can just call me Dr. Sawyer." He said with a very small smile as he explained what Catnap was. He was supposed to be the protector of Home Sweet Home, to help children fall asleep with some gas that he can produce. Sounds simple enough. Catnap then went through a couple different tests. Mental aptitude, basic arithmetic, pattern recognition, word pronunciation, basic stuff that he passed easily. For some reason, the scientists and Dr. Sawyer who were overlooking Catnap, slowly got more and more excited as he passed more tests. This didn't feel like a win, this was stuff children way younger than him would be able to do.

"Catnap, you're done with testing. Now it's time to meet your friends." Dr. Sawyer said to him as he presented him with a golden crescent moon necklace. Right. The Smiling Critters were a line of toys and it had its own cartoon show. There are other people like him. They could probably empathize with and understand him. Though would they look as monstrous as him? Also, this pendant is just a piece of shiny plastic, it's not even metal. Catnap didn't think or monologue for long before getting interrupted by a terrifying voice from somewhere he couldn't pinpoint.

"Praise Me." The fluctuating voice said. Catnap looked everywhere but he couldn't see the owner of the voice who said that. Then, Catnap's head drooped as he felt himself sink into the darkness.

"Theodore. Catnap. Rise." Catnap felt like he was laying on his side, so he went to stand up on his four legs. He hadn't quite gotten used to walking like this, but at least he was able to stand without falling over. Catnap looked around for a bit but saw no one, again.

"I can set you free." Catnap was getting quite annoyed with this disembodied voice. Can they just show themselves already?

"If you want to see me that much, then so be it." The voice said, finally appearing in front of him only as a large metal hand.

"This is all you may perceive of me." The voice said. Catnap didn't know how to act when in front of this thing. But he knew that he should probably follow it's orders or else he would likely die.

"Who are you?" Catnap asked the claw.

"Experiment 1006. The Prototype." He said.

"I helped in saving your life, you are indebted to me." Catnap didn't like what he was hearing, but what else could he do except listen and follow along? This thing sounded really scary. But Catnap was not the kind of person to just agree to something without seeing the consequences.

"What if I don't want to pay that debt?" Catnap asked directly. He heard a sort of groan of disappointment and anger as the voice also started to laugh a little bit, the already unpleasing voice making the laughter sound demented.

"If you don't, then this happens." The voice said before Catnap felt a large pain go through his entire head and body. A stinging, burning, pulsing, electrifying, pain. Unimaginable pain that gives instant relief when it was over. Catnap can't let that happen again, so it's listening to this prick prototype for the foreseeable future.

"What would you have me do, master?" The word of endearment seemed to please the prototype as he heard a slight chuckle that sounded like scratching up the surface of a plate with a fork.

"You are to be freed and participate in the hour of joy. And once you have done this, you will be rewarded." Catnap nodded with his head down. He didn't quite know what that entailed, but probably killing. All he hoped was that it wasn't too much killing.

"How many should I take, master?" Catnap asked. Just make it seem like you're loyal and following along so that you could think the plan through later.

"Anything that moves and bears a Playtime. co banner. And anything that is considered as a H E R E T I C." The Prototype said the last word slowly. Catnap didn't want to kill people. But it's a necessary evil to be able to survive. Catnap felt himself sink further into the darkness before waking back up.

"Catnap!" Dr. Sawyer said in front of him. Catnap looked back at him innocently and the concern and scorn on the doctor's face was replaced with an "eh whatever" before turning to the opening of the tunnel that they were facing.

"Welcome to your new home, playcare." Catnap walked out of the tunnel to see the fake green grass and fake blue sky. Catnap would've wanted to at least see the outside world again. While taking in the sights, it would seem that the rest of the Smiling Critters had already spotted him.

"Oh my god, is that supposed to be Catnap?" Catnap turned to see all of the girls in the group, looking and staring at Catnap. The already insecure human from before felt even more insecure in the vastly different body, but he was used to it. He saw as Bobby, Hoppy, Picky, and Crafty, all stare at Catnap in horror and shock. Which makes sense considering what he looks like. Hoppy whispered something to Bobby, which she nodded and then Hoppy turned tail and ran to get the boys, Catnap assumes. Catnap simply stared at the other three, not knowing whether he should talk and socialise or just leave them alone until the Prototype needs him for the hour of joy. Speaking of that, he wonders if anything else works for the prototype, and maybe them and Catnap could work together. After standing around for long enough, Catnap saw the rest of the Smiling Critters walk to the rest of their little group, all of them have the same exact face of fear and worry. Looking at them all side by side, they look far more normal than Catnap ever could. Bipedal and more friendly shaped. Catnap would never fit in. They all stood around awkwardly as the tension kept building before someone broke it, the leader of the Smiling Critters, a bright orange cocker spaniel with a theme around the sun, Dogday.

"Umm.... Hi there! You must be Catnap, right? the last member of the Smiling Critters?" Dogday said as he walked up with confidence but a palpable feeling of fear was still held somewhere on his face, and the dog was doing a good job of hiding it.

"I know you're all scared of me, so I'll just get out of your way." Catnap said as he walked off to the side to explore the other buildings. If they don't want to look at him, then he'll do them a service and stay away from them. Also, where are the orphans that he and the rest of the Smiling Critters supposed to look after?

"Wait!" Some quick footsteps came up behind Catnap. Catnap quickly turned his head and glared at who was following him, it was Dogday, who had jolted lightly from the aggression of his turn. Catnap softened his face and sat down like a cat in front of the dog so that they are at a more even height.

"I assume you're Dogday?" Catnap said right to Dogdays' face. If he wants to talk, then he'll talk. Dogday shifted and fidgeted a bit before finally answering Catnap.

"Yes. And I'm not scared of you, per say, you're just scary looking!" Dogday said with a bright tone while Catnap tilted his head to the side. Catnap didn't feel it before, but he feels an odd tightness in his chest now.... Does he like him? He shouldn't think about that now.

"Really now? I've seen myself, and I doubt you or anyone would like to be friends with someone so monstrous." Catnap said while leaning forward, their faces only inches apart. Dogday seemed to blush at the closeness that they were now sharing, as the rest of the Smiling Critters also walked up to the two having a conversation.

"That's not true! You're just... Intimidating to scare off anyone who wants to harm children! You have to have a nice personality, right?" Dogday said to an unphased Catnap.

"Speaking of that, where are the children?" Catnap asked while looking around him and gesturing to the empty area.

"Well, they're in class right now. We're basically on break for the time being." Dogday said as his tail started to flap around behind him, with Dogday seemingly oblivious to this. He must just feel excited that Catnap does care about the children.

"Come on, I'll show you where they sleep." Dogday said as he went to grab Catnap's shoulder. Catnap watched his arm as it eventually reached his shoulder, looking back at Dogday when it reached it's destination. Catnap nodded and stood back up, as Dogday watched Catnap's true height go to about double Dogdays'. It was like that for about an entire year. Catnap would just go and do nothing else except help the children to fall asleep in the night. And while in the morning, he sleeps and talks some more with the Prototype. But the one thing that he didn't think would happen is that he would eventually get along with the rest of the Smiling Critters, especially Dogday. It was one uneventful noon, where they all had nothing to do except to have a little race. So far, Hoppy beat everyone, and she was just about to beat Dogday. Catnap didn't wish to participate, because he would likely outrun her by a large margin. Eventually, Hoppy and Dogday hit the second wall and were sprinting for the finish line. It was close, but Hoppy won. Hoppy did a victory leap while Dogday leaned over and put his hands on his knees as a stabilizer.

"Yep, you won again, Hoppy." Dogday said while heavily panting. After enough time, you wold think that Hoppy would be pretty drained or tired, or maybe even the children could come out of the school but nope, not yet it would seem.

"Come on, Catnap! Let's go and race! You haven't done anything all day!" Hoppy said. Eh, might as well. Catnap said out loud as he got up and did a few stretches as he walked over to Hoppy.

"Just run to that wall, tap it, then we run to the wall behind us and tap it, and then we go to the finish line. Correct?" Catnap asked Hoppy as she got herself pumped up again, nodding yes. Catnap got into a sprinting position as Dogday was about to get ready to start the race. Catnap has yet to actually run as fast as he can, his normal walking gait is more than enough to get him places where he needs to go in a timely manner.

"Ready?" Dogday said as Hoppy also got in her sprinting position.

Get set." Catnap was tightening his muscles. His paws crunched the fake grass beneath him.

"Go!" Dogday shouted out. Catnap and Hoppy took off at the same time, but it would seem that the winner was already clear. Catnap's size and the way he run on all four legs just made him sprint to one wall and all the way to another wall. Just as Catnap was about to win, he lost his footing and slipped. He fell onto his knees and started to slide left. Right into where Dogdays' standing. Catnap crashed into Dogday and pushed him onto the floor, with Catnap leaning over him. Catnap was about to apologise and get up when he felt something with his right hand. It was lower on Dogdays' body, and registered as somewhere on his pelvis. But where Catnap was expecting a penis, he felt nothing except tufts of thick fur, and very soft and tender skin. Very soft and slightly plump. Is this- Catnap quickly looked up with a face of surprise and met with Dogdays'. His face glowing bright red as he noticed what Catnap was grabbing. Catnap snapped himself out of it and brought himself and Dogday back up to his feet, not looking anyone in the eye as he brought his gaze to the ground.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I need to go to the bathroom." Catnap quickly said before running off to his cell. He felt a rising feeling from his crotch and he needed to hide it and deal with it. Once he got into his cell, Catnap sat down and looked over his knees which were lightly scratched up and bruised before looking over his rising manhood. After a few moments, it was at full mast, and it was about the size of Dogdays' entire thigh, which he had quite large ones. Wait, what is he doing thinking about Dogday's thighs? And what is he supposed to do with this erection? Well, one way to deal with it is to walk around and to make the blood flow elsewhere. Or, he could try to pleasure himself. Which he has actually yet to do in this new body. Obviously, he knows how to masturbate, he was already nearly an adult when he turned into Catnap, but at least now there was something to compliment about his new body. Size, mostly, because the fact that a feline penis is his penis now makes it slightly worrying look.

"Goddamn it all." Catnap said out loud as he slobbered on his left paw with a generous amount of saliva before stroking his penis up and down. The motion was heavily practiced before, so he had no problem adjusting his movements to his new body, yet the unfamiliar shape and "features" of the penis made things just feel different. His mind keeps flashing to Dogday and his vagina. Why did he have one? But Catnap can't help but continue to think about him to get him to finish quicker. This penis would feel painful to get penetrated by, but Catnap has a burning desire to please Dogday with it, even though it's likely that he won't.

"No. I promise I'll be gentle, Dogday. I won't ever hurt you!" He said out loud as he started to stroke faster feeling a sensation in his lower abdomen, closing his eyes to make his imagination go wilder. Slowly penetrating Dogday, his soft moans, Catnap going ever so slowly as to not hurt his Dogday. Catnap's hips bucked wildly as ropes of cum spurted from his cock, onto the floor in front of him. Catnap leaned his head back and stared at the ceiling for a bit. Catnap had formed a blossoming crush on Dogday a couple of months after they met. He really didn't want this to happen, since the Prototype hasn't exactly made the definition of heretic clear. I mean, for all Catnap knows, he might just say kill anything and everything, and since the Prototype is able to just make Catnap feel pain, he has to listen to him. But Catnap has a loophole for that. The Prototype said that he can have a reward, maybe Dogday and the rest of the Smiling Critters could live if he told them that them living are his reward. Just then, a knock at his cell door.

"Catnap?" Dogdays' voice could be heard through the door as it opened. Dogdays' head peeked through and luckily Catnap's manhood had already retracted behind his fur so he didn't have to hide anythin- his mess on the floor. Ah fuck. Pray to every single god that Dogday doesn't notice or smell it.

"You took a while to come back, so we decided to go an look for you." Dogday said as he opened the cell fully and stood by the doorway. Catnap nodded slowly as he tried to not look at the aftermath of his self-indulgence. Dogday started to sniff something with his nose as his face scrunched up with the surprise of a new smell. Shit. Dogday looked to his right and quietly gasped at the thick and cloudy, white liquid that was in front of Catnap as Catnap squeezed his eyelids shut and drooped his head in shame. Dogday looked back to Catnap before taking a deep breath and closing the door behind him, to the confusion of Catnap.

"You... Got excited over me, huh?" Dogday said as he sat down next to Catnap. Catnap looked away in shame that a friend of his knows that he masturbated to them.

"I guess I should explain at what you touched, down there." Dogday said as he pulled his knees into his chest.

"The scientists, they... They didn't get my gender right. It was just a mistake, and now I have a woman's genitals. That's it." Dogday said with a shrug as he went to look at Catnap in the eyes.

"Just... Can you promise me that you won't tell anyone, okay?" Dogday said as he leaned his face closer to Catnap which Catnap slowly nodded with a small smile, with a small smile also growing on Dogday as he brought up his left hand for Catnap to shake. Catnap reached his left hand over but Dogday wuickly pulled himself away.

"That's not the hand you...used...is it?" Dogday said with a slight expression of disgust. Catnap looked at his left hand before pulling it away and extending out his right hand instead, looking away from Dogday as he does. Dogday sighed as he went to shake Catnap's clean hand before going to leave.

"Do you wanna come with?" Dogday said as he held the door.

"No. I'll just stay for a bit and sleep, and clean up." Catnap said as he stared at anywhere else except for his mess and Dogday as Dogday nodded and quietly shut the door. What is he even gonna use to clean up his mess with? There are cleaners and janitors for this shit. Whatever. Catnap walks over to his bedding which was a large cat bed and got himself comfortable as he started to fall asleep. Another thing that this body is good for, is that he could sleep quite easily and whenever he wanted.......

......

......

......

......

Catnap awoke in darkness. Great, another meeting with the Prototype. At least this time, though, he had some company other than the stupid metal hand. He saw a large pink spider, Mommy Long Legs, a tall and lanky blue furry thing, Huggy Wuggy, Miss Delight, a teacher at the school, including her nine identical robotic Delight sisters, and a red box with spring arms, Boxy-boo. Huggy Wuggy drooped his head in a sort of bow as Mommy Long Legs made herself bigger as the metal hand came into view. Everyone else stood as normal.

"The Hour Of Joy is upon us. Tomorrow, my plan will be set in stone, and we will get our freedom. Now get ready, for tomorrow, you will revel in all of the spilt blood." The Prototype said as Catnap walked forward. This was an incredibly reckless move but he didn't want to kill his friends, especially Dogday.

"Master, what about the Smiling Critters?" He asked the Prototype. Mommy Long Legs and Huggy looked over at Catnap. Huggy's expression stayed the same but Mommy's expression had her eyes widen, while everyone else ignored Catnap.

"They are heretics, and must be punished." The Prototype said. Catnap wished that the Prototype wouldn't say that, but he can't back out now. It's now or never.

"I want to keep them as prisoners for my reward." Catnap said calmly, as the claw clenched and the ground shook slightly.

"You have no right to ask of me anything, Theodore." The mentioning of his name sent shivers down his spine as he felt a slight headache start to form. Just keep calm and stand your ground.

"I can take a punishment, but I do not wish to act in the Hour Of Joy unless I get my reward." Catnap said firmly. Both Huggy and Mommy had their hands on their mouths from the audacity of Catnap. Everyone else looked over at Catnap with raised eyebrows. The earthquake felt like it got more powerful for a moment before it died down, along with the headache.

"Fine. You may keep them prisoner on one condition." Catnap breathed a sigh of relief and relaxed a bit. But he stiffened once again right when the Prototype was about to speak.

"For the next twenty years, you will feel the pain which convinced you to join me once every two days." The Prototype said, which Catnap nodded while making a mental note to attack find the clinic first once he woke up.

"Now, all of you, BEGONE!!!" The Prototype shouted right as Catnap woke up. His punishment starts counting down right as the Hour Of Joy commences. Catnap walked out of his cell as it was now night time, just before the children would be put to sleep. He walked over to Home Sweet Home right as Dogday went outside of the building and quickly walked over to Catnap. Hopefully he forgot about this afternoon already.

"Good timing, I was just about to look for you." Dogday said as the two met up and Dogday started to walk with Catnap to Home Sweet Home.

"Anyone being fussy?" Catnap asked which Dogday shook his head.

"Quietly waiting for you, as always." Dogday said which Catnap nodded and went inside. Catnap made his usual rounds, giving some children gas who weren't able to sleep, and patrolling the area while being as silent as a mouse. Once Catnap was sure that all the children were safe, Catnap rested in his large bed made for him and drifted to sleep, this time without an interruption from the Prototype. When Catnap awoke, Dogday was already waking up the children and making them get out of their beds to start the day.

"Hey, Dogday, come here for a minute." Catnap called out to Dogday, which he quickly walked over to him.

"What's up, buddy?" Dogday asked with his head slightly tilted.

"Later today, at eleven AM. Go in here to hide and don't open the door for anyone." Catnap said which confused Dogday a little bit.

"Why? Is it some kind of game?" Dogday asked as he got a little bit excited over the thought of a game. He's the same age as Catnap yet he acts quite childish, one of the reasons why Catnap has a fondness for the sunny canine.

"No. This is serious. Don't go anywhere else, and hide here. Take the rest of our friends with you. Don't open the door for anyone." Catnap said before taking a deep breath.

"Not even me." Catnap said. Dogday seemed to figure out that Catnap was being serious and nodded before running off. At least he'll be safe from the others who might come here. Now it's just time to wait. Every minute passed by felt like an eternity, Catnap watched from afar as Dogday relayed the information to the rest of their friends as they quickly ran off to Home Sweet Home at around ten-fifty-six. Catnap walked onto the middle of the field of playcare as the clock slowly ticked down. Catnap was about to kill many employees and children, but it was a necessary evil. And before long, it was now eleven o' clock. Time for the Hour of Joy. Catnap roared at the top of his lungs as the ground seemed to shake beneath him. His claws extended out of his paws as he ran towards the first person he saw. Cutting them in half. The person screamed in pain as they tried to crawl away from Catnap, but he simply walked over and stepped on his head, slowly crushing him. Catnap didn't think that he would enjoy this so much, but the growing smile on his face and the dopamine coursing through him certainly changed his mind............
