Sirius staggered down the road, one arm draped over James’s shoulder, the other reaching out to anything that crossed his path. His laughter echoed through the empty streets, loud and carefree.
James watched as Sirius’s eyes lit up at the sight of a lamppost. Without a word, Sirius untangled himself from James, stumbling toward the pole like it was some sort of magent. “Pads, what’re you—” James started, but then stopped, his mouth falling open in shock.
Sirius, in all his drunken glory, had grabbed onto the pole and began spinning around it with wild abandon, his hips gyrating in a way that could only be described as… professional. He tossed his hair back, eyes half-lidded, fully embracing the role of a sultry performer.
James doubled over in laughter, clapping his hands as Sirius continued his impromptu dance, completely lost in the moment. “Padfoot, you’ve missed your calling!”
However, their laughter was cut short by a low, guttural growl. James turned around, and there stood Remus, his eyes glowing in the moonlight, lips curled back in what could only be described as a snarl.
Sirius, oblivious, continued his performance, swinging his leg around the pole like he was in a one-man show. James nudged him sharply. “Pads, stop it.”
“What?” Sirius blinked, finally noticing the tension in the air. His gaze slid to Remus, whose breathing was ragged. “Oh.”
Remus took a step forward, his nostrils flaring as the scent of alcohol and Sirius’s movements clearly triggered something primal within him.
“Oh,” James whispered, backing away slowly. “We’ve got a problem.”
Sirius, sobering up quickly, raised his hands in surrender. “Moony… Moony, it’s just a bit of fun…”
But Remus was already too far gone, his senses overwhelmed. With a guttural growl, he lunged.
James, eyes wide, grabbed Sirius by the arm and dragged him away from the pole before Remus could reach him. “Run, Pads! RUN!”
Sirius, though still unsteady on his feet, managed to scramble away, laughing breathlessly despite the very real danger. “Well, at least I know someone appreciates the performance!”
James shook his head, grinning despite himself as they sprinted down the road with a feral werewolf on their tail. “You’re insane, mate.”
“Maybe,” Sirius shouted, breathless. “But I’m also fantastic!”
