Chapter 1

Prologue

(First of september, 1991.)

Rosalee Carmen Blackborn stood in between platform 9 and platform 10, she was utterly confused. 3 days before today, she was sent from her small town in Spain, to England, left alone in a completely unfamiliar area with no other instructions than to be good, get her things for school, and to arrive to Kings Cross Station and get to platform 9 3/4 on September first before 11 AM. Now as she looked for platform 9 3/4, she wished her parents had sent her to Beauxbatons, maybe that school was easier to get to. A black haired boy equally confused appeared next to her, they just simply ignored each other.

She looked up at a big clock in the station, it read 10:37, 27 more minutes before she needed to be on the platform. She had asked the workers at the station, but they just looked at her like she was crazy, rolled their eyes, and ignored her. After a couple of seconds a family, or at least she thought, came walking towards her. They were all read headed, though some of them didn’t seem to be at the age of attending Hogwarts yet.

“uhm excuse me ma’am, do you happen to know where platform 9 3/4 is?” She asks the Read headed older women, who seemed like their mum. This was her last hope and if she didn’t get an answer she decided she just not going to school this year. The black haired boy trialed behind her, wanting to know too.

”Of course dear, also just call me Molly.” The kind woman says to her in a delightful tone, glancing back at the boy behind her and smiling. “Just follow me.” She tells her, even if you were blind you could hear the smile that was set on her face. Rosalee of course, follows the kind woman.

“Is this your first year?” She asks Rosalee, she simply nods her head. “Well then, you’ll be in the same year as Ron” She says, nodding her head to A boy who seemed about my age, who was very ginger and was carrying around a pet rat. She continues to quickly tell me about the two other children that were in Hogwarts, and the ones that weren’t.

”Well we better start going in.” Says Molly, Rosalee looks up at the clock and reads the time 10:46, Molly sent Percy She watched as he ran at the wall, she expected him to go flying, instead he went right through it, she was utterly amazed. one of the twins Ron and the black haired boy who she heard was named Harry followed.

“Fred do you mind helping..” Molly Paused. “I’m so sorry, I didn’t ask for your name, so sorry hun.” Molly turns to Rosalee. “My names Rosalee, Rosalee Blackborn.” Rosalee says with a kind smile. Molly simply nods and turns back to fred. “Fred will you please help Rosalee get into the platform?” Molly Asked, although it was more of a ‘you don’t have a choice’ statement, that a question.

As Rosalee got ready to run at the wall, readying for hitting it instead of going through, fred had shown her what to do by running through it before her. She looked back at molly and she smiled at her, she took her cart and ran at the wall, bracing for impact, her eyes squeezed shut tightly, muscles tensed.

She ran, and when she didn’t hit the wall, opened her eyes. She looked in awe of the busy platform, parents hugging and sending off their children, some of them crying. She took a place next to Fred as she watched Molly run through, her saying goodbyes to all four of her children leaving for the year, hearing warning of no jokes or pranks to the twins.

As Molly reached her, she half expected her to just walk away. Instead Molly looked at her and smiled “It was so nice meeting you Rosalee, have a great school year.” She said wait a warmth in her voice that was similar to the one she often her in her mother. Molly patter her shoulder before tutting slightly. “Well off you guys go, behave well.” She says as the children left, Rosalee following behind them like a lost puppy, unaware of where to go or what to do.

As she got to the train, someone took her bags and she followed the Two boys, Ron and Harry to a train cart, more comfortable with them as they were her age.As they got there she sat on the train cart seats opposite of them, close to the window, she leaned her head against it and looked out at the other side of the platform. A girl named Hermione granger joins them

After a bit of her staying silent the twins started to talk to her, just the normal questions like ‘what’s your favorite color?’ or ‘How old are you?’.

After about an hour they arrive at the castle, and Rosalee stares in awe the whole way to the pats, she was scared the whole time that they were going to fall in. She talks to the others as they wait to be sorted.

A platinum Blond boy approached them and starts talking to Harry, she zones them out but doesn’t miss the look of offense on his face as he walks away, which made her laugh slightly.

She continues to talk to the boys and Hermione, all agreeing that they would all get sorted into Gryffindor. Soon enough a grouchy but also kind looking professor named Mrs. Mcgonagall leads them to a great hall to get sorted. Rosalee stares at the crusty looking hat that sat on a chair in front of them. She’s shocked when it grows a mouth and begins to sing a song she doesn’t pay much mind to. Soon they get to her name, looking back at her new friends she made with a look of hope on her face.

As she reaches the stool and the hate is placed on her head, slightly covering her eyes, she is stunned when she hears a voice in her head, wondering if the others could hear it.

’Ah yes, not the first Blackborn i’ve sorted, but you are different, although smart, not enough characteristics for Ravenclaw, a kind soul, but not a Hufflepuff. You are very brave, but also have much ambition. It is a hard choice, though you want Gryffindor, you must be…’

Slytherin!” She hears the voice ring throughout the hall, as the hat is taken off her head, clapping is heard from the Slytherin table, she looks in horror at her new friends as she walks over to her new table, alone as she was one of the first ones sorted into the house.
