Chapter 2
Monday, June 30th, 2014.
At nine in the morning when Antony Gagos was finishing the remaining paperwork that he had with the Gringotts magical branch when finally the note, folder and the inheritance test of the boy came to him from his account manager from their British branch .
‘Fucking finally,’ Antony thought as he couldn't believe it took fourteen years to finally meet the brat. This is all his aunt's and her son's fault, he shouldn't have listened to either of them.
You see, it all started when his father's little sister Katarzyna who was born as a squib. Unlike the British, here in Poland they don't disown their family members if they were born squibs. She grew up having everything she needed, but unfortunately when she turned eighteen, she decided to leave everything in polish behind her, after all she doesn't have magic to help the family in any way it was needed, she took all her trust fund and moved to England to a new life there away from everyone she knew. While she was there she fell in love with another Squib who was abandoned by his magical family in the muggle and changed his name to Jake Anderson, got married, built an empire, and had a son that they named John who turned out to be a muggle.
They were living a happy life, and they planned their son's life to the last detail. Of course that plan backfired when at nineteen John fell in love with an eighteen year old orphan muggle girl named Maria. So when his aunt threatened her son to either leave the girl and marry the girl they chose for him or leave, during the night, John up and left without a word. When Antony tried to interfere, find him and try to help and salvage any relation he had with his mother, Katarzyna stood her ground and refused point blank. To her, John either comes to his senses or he's no longer part of their lives. When Antony found John a few years later, he was introduced to Mary and she was one of the most amazing people he had ever met and Antony wished that his aunt could see that. When he tried to talk to John about his mother, he wouldn't listen because poor or not, they were happy they way they were, especially with their child being on the way. So when his aunt and her husband passed away shortly after meeting his cousin, his cruel aunt left him everything in the muggle world and left some vaults at the British Gringotts branch in case her disgrace of a son had any magical children. Antony tried to give them to John, but the stubborn bastard point-blank refused saying that they don't need them to be a happy family even if they were poor.
Antony wished he didn't listen to him, because a few years later he died a few months after his wife leaving behind a pregnant daughter, and Antony couldn't get near the girl much cause, aside from promising John not to, the girl Annie neither knew him nor would she go near a stranger. Family or not, so he stayed in Poland as he had people check on her once in a while. Unfortunately, with his sister's family bad luck, John's daughter Annie passed away leaving behind her eight year old son who was sent temporarily to a foster family right after her death. When he went to the UK to gain custody over her boy, he felt heartbroken, the father of the foster family he was put in, came back home drunk one day, some altercations happened and ended up killing his wife and three of the foster kids, from what his people could tried to figure out what happened to the other kids, he was told that one of the boys who was orphaned recently was able to escape him and ran away. What got him more frustrated was when he tried to use blood magic he couldn’t find him anywhere. Whenever they get closer for when he does actually find him through blood magic when he tries again, the boy suddenly disappears without a trace making him believe that he was at least magical with no clue about their world.
Because not only was his family is a Dukedom in wizarding Poland, they have have a seat in their own wizarding government, and a seat in the ICW (International Confederation of Wizards), his search for the boy had to be made in secret or else the people who wanted to see him go down would try to find the boy and use him as leverage, since the boy would be announced as his heir when he is found. As it was known that after disowning his own daughter, that he and his wife finally succeeded to have in their late 50's, at seventeen, she fell in love with an American army that was visiting their country and decided that she wanted nothing to do with the family politics, it was never her true calling and followed him to America, got married and had their own magical son who was being homeschooled instead of attending Ilvermorny.
But back to the main story, during the summer of 2013, he received a letter from Pandora Lovegood who was known that she came from a line of seers. From his sources, he was told that even if she hadn't been born with the ability, her daughter did. Her letter stated that she's requesting a meeting between him, her family, and the Corners (who are known by few that they are one of the last few guardians that hadn't died out in Europe). He was considering if he should when a name caught his eye. It turns out they wanted to meet in regards to the boy, his cousin, and not only that, it was him who asked them to have that meeting with him. After all, he's the boy's cousin twice removed. Antony immediately sent them a reply with a portkey from them to meet as soon as they could.
It took barely three days when both families arrived at his home in Poland to have that meeting. Taking them to one of his secured rooms, sat down as they introduced themselves and to their kids Luna, Elena, and Michael, and before Antony could say anything the girl Luna beat him to it telling him that aside from him being a wizard, he's a true seer, shocking him completely.
Taking a gulp, he gestured to her to continue. So she did, she first told him the story of Harry Potter's life and how he defeated the dark lord. When Antony asked where his cousin was in all of this, she told him that he and his mother died in a fire in the building that they were living in. When he asked if he died, how was he still alive? She told him that he has a theory regarding the woman named the ancient one intervening by stopping it, but he wouldn't be able to prove it before at least another year or so. Recovering from his shock, Of course he knew who that was, it was rare to meet the Sorcerer supreme, but to be saved by the ancient one that few knew that it was the nickname of the Sorcerer supreme, it meant something major is happening and his cousin is the key player in all of this. Giving Luna the go ahead and she went on. She told him that in this version, Dumbledore knew about boy's birth by stealing the tapestry book of each of the families, but what should have happened was Dumbledore would kill his mother when he was eight, then intentionally sends him to those foster families and use that so when he finally arrives at Hogwarts to use him as his own plans for when Harry dies while Voldemort being brought during the Triwizard Tournament during his fourth year, Dumbledore would use that as an excuse to accuse him of Harry's death because of his own heritage. Which would lead to his cousin being attacked and murdered for killing Harry.
Shocked at what he was told, Antony became confused, so he asked, what does Dumbledore know about the boy's heritage? And who is the boy's father?
Luna told him, his father is Sirius Black, also, his grandmother Mary was the twin sister of Tom Marvolo Riddle known as Voldemort. As she explained the history of how Merope Gaunt used love potion on their father who she was in love potions with to marry him but when she became pregnant she decided to stop giving him the potion thinking he would actually love her and the kids. What she didn't know was that once he was free from the potion, he left her and went back to his family not caring about her or the unborn children. With her own family going dumb and crazy from all the inbreeding, instead of magically disowning her, they just removed her from the family tapestry and threw her out since she was already near squib. What she was due, she died giving birth to the children, her family being the cruel that they were, named the boy Tom Marvolo Riddle then obliviated the orphanage nuns making them think that Merope gave birth only to a son as they took Mary and put her in another orphanage just to mess with the muggle father and his family as a cruel payback to turning Merope into a blood traitor.
Antony, aside from nearly having a heart attack, finished a bottle of fire whiskey by the time she was done. He couldn't helo himself but mutter ‘fucking hell’. He's the son of a loyal death eater, and the great nephew of the dark lord, great, his cousin going to go through hell with everyone thinking he's going to take after the cunts.
Knowing what he's thinking Luna told him, “Don't worry, you don't know him like us, we may not have met face to face yet but we trust him, there's already a plan to lower the hatred towards him for being related to him, and it starts with proving his father's innocence when he makes himself known next summer.”
“How?” Asked Antony, confused as he watched the girl take a small journal from her bag, walked towards him and accepted the book from her.
She told him, “Everything of what will happen and be changed is in that book, everyone has a part to play, including how you would be able to reach him on something called the dark web. The Corners are still trying to figure out how to incorporate the runes into technology to teach us muggle technology, but unfortunately, the runes keep failing. Since your family works in both muggle and wizarding worlds, it is easier for you to do so. After all, you are a Duke in our world, and owner of a big business in the muggles. He can't wait to see you, and no matter what anyone tells you, we trust him with our life, and we'll protect him and keep his secrets safe at all costs.”
Understanding the threat, he gave her an acknowledged nod, he himself wasn't going to betray his own family. It's not his fault who his family is. They talked a little bit more before they used the portkey to leave and went back to the journal to read it. He was impressed about how everything was planned. Using his secured and Untraceable computer at his muggle home, he followed his instructions which led Antony to a private chat network between them to talk, and that's how he started to get to know his cousin and his heir. With the information he received, not only did he have a private audience with king Ragnok who reserved the right whether he joins them or not after meeting the boy, Antony, he used his contacts at the British muggle intelligence to get him all the legal documents of the list that he sent him. This includes his mothers death certificate, his time in muggle foster family, even copies of his IQ test which was impressive as he scored 240 and his IGCSE (International General Certificate Secondary Education) that an employee of a church got him to do when she found him and convinced him to stay there even if the boy plan to go there was temporary to legally get those documents, and helped him through his connections to take take accelerated law and engineering programs at Oxford through online courses with a secondary name until they meet and change it to his legal name. At one point in their chat Antony laughed and couldn't help himself but mutter, ‘I love this kid’.
Six weeks before the boy's birthday, he received a message from him telling Antony a change of plans with a file as to why and with what he needed to do. That's why he was at the bank today, making sure he read everything through, and when he did, he sent a few messages through his account manager before using the portkey that was given to him and was taken to the British branch of the bank.
Once arrived, he was led by a guard to a meeting and once the door was opened, he finally saw the boy for the first time with a smirk on his face saying, “Hey cousin, what took you so long?”
