I Can’t Find It - James Potter/GN!reader
Sometimes you think your best friend is a bit scatterbrained, or maybe he just forgets things sometimes. However, watching him at the moment, you’re a bit worried. He seems to be frantically searching for something.
“James,” you call out.
“Hmm?”
“Are you alright?”
He doesn’t answer, just keeps making more of a mess in his search. So you get up, putting your book down. You move closer to him, and you finally put your hand on his shoulder.
He jumps, startled, before turning to you, and letting out a sigh of frustration. “Hey. I can’t find it.”
“What?”
“The book I borrowed from you. I can’t find it.”
You hugged him. “Breathe. It’s fine.”
You pulled back and looked at him. “I swear it’s fine.” You let go of him and went to pick up the book you were reading, which you think was the one he was talking about. You show him the book, “was it this one?”
He chuckles, “yeah. I guess I already gave it back to you then.”
“Yeah, you did,” you walk over to him and kiss his cheek. “Thank you for being worried, but next time, ask me instead of worrying. Then if it is missing, I can help you search, yeah?”
He pulled you in for a hug. “That’s a good idea.”
