shaking Pandora x Sybill
Pandora had grown used to being a seer. It was hard at moments but she learned how to process them and not let the knowledge of what's to come control her life. It was hard sometimes when she would have a significantly difficult prophecy. How is someone supposed to continue on with their day like normal when they know their best friend is going to die young?
How is anyone supposed to act natural knowing how relationships are going to end?
Pandora has mastered the art of simply going with the flow of time. Yes she knows what’s going to happen but she also knows that there is nothing anyone can do to change what fate has in store. So she has learned to be happy with what she has now before she loses it.
Not all seer’s have mastered this ability.
Like her girlfriend Sybil.
Sybil was a kind and amazing young woman always wanting to help and make the world around them a better place. She was a seer as well and the two girls had bonded over their shared ability. Where Pandora learned to go with the flow of things Sybil learned how to push her visions and forget about them entirely. She saw her gift as a curse and refused to even acknowledge it. The pain of knowing her friends' futures haunted her in a way that was unimaginable.
Pandora tried to help but Sybil’s ability was just so intense it was hard to help. Sybil still dealt with her visions but she dealt with them by forgetting.
Pandora always knew when Sybil was having a vision her eyes would glaze over and her voice would get deeper as she spoke. Once she was done she would come back in distress. Pandora would always do her best to comfort her.
Today was no different.
Pandora held onto Sybil as her body shook.
“It’s ok love your ok everything is going to be ok” Pandora spoke, softly rubbing Sybil’s back.
Sybil looked up, tears pooling in her eyes.
“Everything is not ok! These visions, these prophecies, I hate them I don’t want them” Sybil cried burying her face back into Pandora’s chest.
Pandora sighed, brushing her hands through Sybil’s hair.
“I know love and I’m sorry I’m sorry my dear I’m sorry you were born a seer, I’m sorry you keep having these visions, and I’m sorry our futures are so dark I wish I could do more for you.” Pandora said, voice breaking.
Breaking because she couldn’t do anything. She had given up on changing the future but Sybil had not. Pandora wished she could simply take away all of Sybil’s pain. She wanted to take all her pain and take it on herself.
She couldn’t all she could do was hold her crying girlfriend.
Pandora felt tears well up in her own eyes.
She held onto Sybil a little bit tighter as she let silent tears fall down her cheeks. She was careful to not make any noise; she didn’t want Sybil to know she was crying. If Sybil heard her crying then she would immediately ignore her own feelings and try to help Pandora. So Pandora cried silently.
The two girls held each other as they mourned their futures and the futures of their friends that were stolen away because of the upcoming war.
