Growing pains Narcissa x Alice
Narcissa always felt as though she was the odd one out. Both her sisters were named after stars. She was not. Both her sisters had curly dark hair. She had straight light hair. Narcissa tried to fit in. She did as she was told even if she didn’t like it. She dyed her hair black and often curled it to look more like her sisters. She tried to fit in but nothing worked.
No matter what she did she always felt as though she was the odd one out.
Things didn’t change once she got to hogwarts. She was sorted into Slytherin but still felt like the odd one out. She was smart but not smart enough. She was good at quidditch but not good enough. She was pretty but not good enough. Narcissa always felt as though she was not good enough.
That was until she met Alice.
Alice was everything Narcissa had ever wanted. Beautiful, kind, funny, smart. She was confident and Narcissa couldn’t help but blush anytime the other girl looked her way.
Narcissa never thought someone like Alice would love someone like her.
To her surprise Alice did love her.
At first Narcissa thought it was a crul joke. No one would really choose her right?
Alice had been different. She had loved Narcissa for all the things most people had hated or disliked. She loved her straight light hair and often asked why she never left it natural. She loved her name and thought it was beautiful. She loved her laugh and always tried to get Narcissa to laugh just to hear it again. She loved watching Narcissa play quidditch even though Alice was much better.
Narcissa enjoyed being loved by Alice.
They had to keep their love a secret. Narcissa's family wouldn’t have approved of her dating a girl. Narcissa felt terrible for making Alice keep them a secret. Alice didn’t mind she understood and didn’t care as long as she could have Narcissa.
They were happy. They went through Hogwarts happily dating in secret planning their futures together. Alice wanted a family and so did Narcissa. They spoke of what they would possibly name their future children.
Narcissa let herself dream about a life with Alice. She knew they would never be able to have a future together but she still allowed herself to dream. She thought they would have more time.
She was wrong.
Eventually they had to grow up and couldn’t dream any longer.
Narcissa was married off to Lucius Malfoy once she was done with school. Alice tried convincing her to run away. To leave her family and live the life they had dreamed about. Narcissa couldn’t leave her family. Not after seeing how heartbroken her mother was when her sister Andy left.
Alice understood even if she wasn't happy with her decision. The two promised to keep in touch but the war dragged them farther apart.
Then one day Narcissa got a letter.
Alice was in St Mungo’s. She had been driven insane after being attacked by death eaters. Narcissa felt as though she was going to throw up.

Why her Alice?
Naricssa wished she had never grown up. Maybe if she hadn't then she would still have Alice.
