Babysitter part 2
They left the topic after Harry woke up. They knew they had very little time, but a day won’t hurt them, and they had a child to look after. And after the whole day of lots of playing and a newly dirty wall, Minerva was ready to sleep. After Remus left, she put Harry to sleep and tried some cleaning charms on the wall. They did not work, although she did it know how a baby could couse a stain so bad, but she decided she didn’t want to know. She did have to do something about the hot pink that seemed to radiate light, but that could just be stage glitter.
She looked at the letter they earlier, that she put on her desk, and felt a wave of nervousness. She knew the worst case scenario was that she would have to find someone else, but that didn't stop the anxiety. Just as she reached for the letter, she heard an owl tapping on her window. Who could be writing to her? Remus was just here, and she didn't have anything to handle before she came to Hogwarts. The owl tapped again. Right, she wouldn't find out till she saw. She opened the window and saw a bird, that was defenetally not an owl. She looked closer, and saw that some of the feathers of the animal that were died bizarre colours. Mostly white bird, was pink from the face side, that melted into yellow and then into blue, somehow skipping green. She took the letter anyway, right out of the birds purple beak, and looked at it. It was not signed, but from the bird she had an idea of who sent it. She sighed and sat on her bed, loosing hope of peaceful sleep. She opened the letter, and started reading.
She did not send the letter to Amelia. She did however, immediately floo call Remus. At the end of the letter, it was signed, by Pandora Lovegood. How did she know about Harry? She wrote to offer to look after him once a month.
"Remus" She called out. She heard shuffling and a crash
"What?" He called out sleepily. Well she forgot it was this late.
"Come over" She said quickly.
"Okay, move over" he said, slightly more awake. Just as she did, the flames in her fireplace turned green, and in stepped Remus, wearing pijamas decorated in reindeers.
"What did you need?" He asked, rubbing the last signs of sleep off his eyes
"I got a letter, that could help our situation, but it's interesting to say the least."
She said, pulling the letter from her pocket. Remus took it from her hand, sat down at the table and read it carefully.
"I think we should meet with her and see what she wants, but I don't believe she has bad intentions" He finally said, weighing his words. He shifted in his chair "We do need a babysitter, and she would be a good choice. Clearly, she already knows, so what's the harm?"
"Then we'll go tomorrow" And with that they parted, both to tired for more talking.
At the same time in a cylindrical house with a steam base on it, a woman looked out of the kitchen window. She was making bread for her unannounced guests that would show up tomorrow. She wiped her hands.on her lavender dress, then looked down at her stomach.
"Luna, you will have an amazing friend in the future" she said, a dazed smile on her face. She hopes the guests will not mind the bread being purple.
The next day Minerva, with little Harry in her arms, and Remus, walked slowly towards the Lovegood residence. They decided to walk, because they felt Harry was too young for unnecessary magical transport, and thier destination was not far. They were talking quiey with each other, both pretending they weren't tense. They weren't worried, but they still were uneasy. They reach the hill the hause was on, and the path changed. Gone was the beaten road, replaced by an uneven, winding path, made of large stones. Minerva held the baby tighter, and slowed down her pace even more.
"Do you need me to take him?" Asked Remus
"No, I'm just being careful," she took a confident step, then steadied herself before taking another.
In that fashion, the walk uphill took longer than anticipated, but they made it to the door without any trouble.
"Should we knock?" Remus reached out his hand to the giant knocker in a surprisingly simple shape, but just as he was to grab it, the door swung open, and they were greeted with a sight of Pandora Lovegood, covered in flour.
"Hi! Come right in!"
