Pandora
Two people stood dumbfounded on Pandoras doorstep. She didn't realise that opening the door before they knocked would render them silent, she did not now k locking was so important. Well next time she would let them knock.
"Are you alright?" She asked, her soft voice carrying a hint of worry, as she tilted her head, making all the decorations in her hair jingle
"Yes, um hi" The man started stuttering, reaching his hand out. She took it and pulled him inside. That seemed to jolt the woman out of her daze, and she followed in, gently shutting the door behind her.
They were just in time, Pandora thought as she pulled out a knife for the bread, that had just cooled enough to be cut
"Please, sit, have some bread" she gestured to the table with the knife. As her guests were settling in she prepared the table.
"So I'm guessing you know why we are here?" Started the woman.
"I imagine you want to discuss the arrangements for looking after Harry" she said smiling at the sleeping baby.
"Well, yes, but" Started Minerva, but she didn't get to finish the sentence
"Great! Well I'm available every day right here! Well, I will not be on Fabuary 13th, that's my moons day, but you'll not be needing me then." Said the blonde with a dreamy smile at the mention of the moon. Her guests did not bother to hide their confusion, but she did not let that stop her "Now the question is which days would you like Harry to stay here, and which should I come to your place.?" Asked Pandora. She cut into the bread, and smiled at the perfect shade she managed to achieve. Her guests exchanged looks and seems to debate on the answer. That gave her enough time to butter the bread and plate it. When she looked at them again, they slowly nodded and the man answered for them both.
"That would be lovely, would you mind coming over for now? We can discuss Harry comming here when he's a bit older" he said hesitant
"Of course, and now, enjoy some bread, I made it this morning" Pandora said cheerfully.
They spent the rest of the week preparing for Hogwarts. Well, mostly preparing Remus to take care of Harry alone and reassuring eachother that everything is going to go alright. The week seemed to fly by, and before they knew it, it was the day. The lunch before it was time to go was a tense one. Although they both knew there was nothing to worry about, that still were stressed that something would go wrong. Never before had they disobeyed the old headmaster so blatantly, and as they saw through some of his facade, they were uncertain of what to expect of him if he found out. On Remus' part it would be easy to slip unnoticed, he had lost contact with most people from wizarding world, but it would be difficult to explain why Minerva suddenly wanted to stay the nights at home instead of the castle. They hoped nobody would aks, but just in case they thought about what to say. It had taken some time, neither of them very proficient at coming up with lies, but they settled on a story of her being too overwhelmed after the war and needing some comfort of her home.
"What if someone doesn't believe it" said Remus suddenly
"Believe what?" Minerva looked up from her plate, confusion visible on her face
"The story of why you need to stay here" said Remus,
"There is no reason to doubt it" said Minerva calmly, "but if someone does I'll just act offended" she said, smiling to herself.
"I know, but I'm so worried that something will happen" sad Remus, for the third time that day
"I know, but no one even knows Harry is not with his relatives, they have no reason to go searching for him. Besides, we have the legal documentation, we can have him here, if anyone tried to take him, we can call the aurors for kidnapping"
He sighed again and stood up. “Well if you don’t want to be late for your staff meeting, you better get going” he helped up from her chair “Good luck “ he added
“I don’t need luck, but thank you “ She shook her head and started walking. "I'll see you in the evening” and with that she was gone
