Chapter 3
As the weeks went by Remus found himself noticing Sirius more and more, he also found his problem getting worse. It always got worse as it neared the full moon but this felt different. He had begun to carry a blade with him everywhere ¨In case of emergency¨ and caught himself slipping out to get away from the others and go for his walks or to sit by the lake. It seemed that Sirius was finding him wherever he went more and more often and sitting, or walking with him, and everytime Remus got that same feeling.
He felt as though Sirius fit in so well with the grandeur of the castle, something Remus never dreamt of achieving. He always felt he didn't belong, it was all too beautiful, majestic even, everything about it was the opposite of Remus.

Remus was sitting on a rock by the lake, the same rock he always chose, the pattern gave him comfort. The sun was just beginning to set and he watched as the water glistened and glowed orange, as the sky. It was getting cold as the sun set, the heat escaping into the cloudless sky.
It was only 2 days before the full moon and Remus was scared. He hated himself for being scared, he'd been through it a million times and the thought of it still made him want to curl up and disappear.
Hearing the sound of shoes crunching against the gravel he turned to look at Sirius. He knew who it was as soon as he heard footsteps. Sirius always found him when he was alone.
¨you should come inside it's freezing.¨
¨thats okay I´m not cold¨ it's not the truth, he's quite cold but he doesn't really mind and he just wants to watch the sunset over the lake. He has to enjoy the peace because of what he knows will happen to him in just a few nights.
¨put this on I don't want you to catch a cold¨ Sirius said handing Remus his coat. He takes it, holding it in front of him.
¨But what about you? Won't you be cold?¨
¨It's fine Moony I at least have a sweater¨
Remus blushes at the nickname, or maybe at the gesture of being given his coat. He looks away as he puts it on to hide the heat he can feel creeping up his face.
All his friends call him Moony but it's somehow different when Sirius does it. As he sat there next to him a thought of which he didn't like so much crossed his mind. He remembered listening to James rant about how he feels whenever he is near Lily but Remus always brushed it off and made fun saying he was being dramatic, but at this moment what James had described sounded scarily familiar to what he was feeling right now. He sat there not sure what to do. Sirius was a boy, Remus was a boy he couldn't like him.
He supposed it mattered more who the person was rather than their gender, this however did not help in the least to calm him, Sirius being one of his best friends and all. He attempted to push the thoughts aside and just enjoy the moment, he could process later.
The sun had almost gone down completely and Remus was content sitting there, soaking in the landscape and the feelings of excitement over his newly discovered crush.
¨It's gonna be dark soon we should head back¨ Sirius suggested, it was the first time either of them had spoken. It was nice how comfortable they both were in silence, not feeling the need to fill the space with meaningless small talk or gossip.
Remus agreed and they both stood up to head back to the Gryffindor commons
¨oh Remus you dropped…¨ his words trail off as he reaches down and reads the label on the small box: Gillette Razors. ¨Oh. Moony.¨
