Introduction
Remus liked to take walks around the castle, the fresh air calmed him and he appreciated the freedom of such a seemingly large and open space after the confines of the boys home he´d always known. He always went on these walks after he cut, he couldnt stand to be near other people afterwards.
Remus knew harming ones self was bad. Of course it was bad and though he never really wanted to admit it, even to himself, he wasnt exactly sure why. He´d done it for a while and it never really had any negative consequences, at least not consequences he was conscious of. He was plenty scraped up after the full moons anyways, whats the harm in a few more he always thought.
Nobody noticed, nobody thought anything of it, but now he had friends. Friends who would notice a few extra cuts if he didnt disguise it well, and friends who would notice if he didnt talk all day, but friends who tried to cheer him up rather than pushing him on what was wrong and for this he was grateful.
Sirius however was different. He wouldnt say anything around the others but Remus saw how he looked at him, pity? Concern? He wasnt sure but he didnt like it. It made him nervous, he wasnt entirely sure what it was that he was nervous about but something about it was unsettling, maybe just unfamiliar.
On the contrary simply being in the same room as Sirius could calm him. This was of course in the situation that Sirius´ attention was not on remus but rather his book or his conversation with James. His feelings towards Sirius confused him, though he was sure he liked him quite a bit. He liked all of them even Peter, though he found him quite irritating at times.
James was charming even to Remus and overall just a good friend, despite how sickening it was to hear him obsess over Lily all the time. He´d already been rejected by her twice despite it being the very start of the new semester.
He was so deep in thought at the extent to which his life had changed over the past couple years that he didn’t even notice the sounds of footsteps coming up behind him.
