Chapter 10
Barty knew this would t end well.
He knew making a fake account for Regulus so he can fall in love again with a random fan wasn't gonna end well.
But he also knew that, when Regulus sets his mind on something, there is no way of convincing him otherwise.
So as much as he wanted to not make the account, he felt much better after doing it.
Since Regulus would have done it anyway with or without his help, it makes him feel a bit more secure knowing this random stranger won't know Regulus's identity unless Regulus wants that.
Besides, he himself wasn't much better at keeping away from hot fans.
Evan texted him a few days ago, but he still didn't open it.
He was too scared Evan figured who he is and only wants him for his game now.
He finally gave in. He simply had to know what Evan texted him. He opened the text.
Hey, Barty (can I call you barty?)
I'm really sorry for our last meeting
I didn't know who you were and you were hot and
Well I understand if you want nothing to do with me
I'm sorry
Barty was taken aback by this.
Since he first saw the notification he overthinked many possible and nearly impossible situations but that wasn't one of them, so he didn't really know how to respond.
He knew one thing, he cant keep Evan waiting any longer, the poor guy is probably overthinking too.
Hi Evan Ofc you can call me Barty and dont worry for not knowing me. I was a bit surprised but to be honest I liked that you saw me for who I am and not just the fame.
Seen. Evan saw it.
Then be was typing, then he wasn't.
Then he was typing again. And Barty got the text
Oh great, I was worried sick I offended
You or something. Would you still be
Up to get to know each other?
Barty smiled at the screen
Yeah of course
A week later Barty was still texting Evan every day.
They got to know each other and strangely enough Evan never made a move towards making it romantic.
They were simply besties.
Barty would of course want them to be more but with Evan making no move and with his dating history he didn't want to get into something that would potentially end up in another heartbreak.
So he talked to Evan every day and sometimes even night, he knew that he probably wouldn't be able to be Evan's boyfriend so he will make the most of of their friendship.
He wanted to tell Regulus about Evan.
They told each other everything bit since they were both busy this week Barty still didn't have the chance to talk about it with Regulus.
He walked into Regulus's room and saw him laying on his bed smiling at his phone, typing something, and then smiling again.
"Who are you texting?"
Barty said and made his presence noticable
Regulus shut his phone and turned it upside down so Barty wouldn't be able to see any notifications if the screen lit up when be received a message.
"No one" Regulus answered, getting up
"Liar, you're texting that fan, the one I made you the fake account for" he said smiling a bit
Regulus looked down, cheeks pink
"I, um no, yes, maybe?"
He looked a bit embarrassed
"I knew it!" Barty exclaimed "actually that's what I wanted to tell you, I'm talking to someone too, but were just friends."
Regulus seemed relieved they changed the topic
"Oh yeah? Is that why you're giggling every time he sends you a text? Did you think I didn't notice?"
Now it was Barty's turn to turn pink
"No, we're just friends, he never said we're anything more."
"But you want to be more don't you."
Barty sighed, giving in
"Yes, I do. I want to be his boyfriend so bad"
Regulus gave him that "I knew it look"
" Oh don't look at me like that, I'm not blind either, you want to be James's boyfriend too."
Regulus blushed again.
"But Reggie, we can't. We can't be that reckless with our hearts again. Last time we were both terribly used and heartbroken."
Regulus looked at him, knowing he's right
"I think it's better if we both just let it be friendship, nothing more."
Regulus nodded
"Promise it Reg."
They shook hands
"Promise" they both said, then hugged
"I love you Bar"
"Love you too Reg"
