Regulus Pov
When Sirius Black ran away, Regulus black stayed and his brother hated him for that so when Walburga black, told that he was to marry Rabastan Lestrange a man 12 years older than him and get that mark something that he did not want , of course Regulus didn't realize until then that he needed to leave, that night was the first night he had ever pointed his wand at his mother, she knew he wouldn't curse her,
because "you be expelled if you use magic, and you'll have nowhere to go" but everyone knew that night that the black family had wards around the house that made underage magic undetectable, Regulus ran with a bag of clothes took the Knight bus to his uncles house Alphard Black disown because it was known 5 weeks ago after his brother ran away that Sirius would get a large inheritance if Alphard were to die,
and when Regulus arrived at the door step of his uncles, Alphard smiled and his eyes began to swell and pulled him into an embrace a very long embrace
And Regulus heard Alphard thanking a god he had never prayed to or believed in but he did he thanked them for keeping the ones he loved the most safe.
The door to the compartment slammed open "black" a voice said a voice he has mesmerized well, Remus Lupin, Regulus opens his eyes as lifts his head from dorcas lap, "yes?" Regulus says ever so graceful "you missed the prefect meeting, you and I were put together" Regulus feels dorcas cold fingers running through his hair "go reg, we'll continue later" Regulus stands up and dusts off his robe and exits the compartment, Lupin points to the Direction of their assigned spot and so they walk
Remus pov
Never in his 7 years of watching Regulus, well he wouldn't say watching more like observing Regulus has he seen so relaxed so let go and peaceful and it did thing to him that people wouldn't understand, he hasn't thought about Regulus likes this sense the first time he laid eyes on him in this very train him and his beautiful white strands of hair that learned that only the woman in the black family were born with it, but Remus already knew about Regulus and he just didn't get a fuck.
As he walks to the train with Regulus and Remus can't stop throwing glances and at some point one of the compartment doors slam open "Moony!" One Sirius Black yells and he is grining and cheerful until he sees who is next to Remus "why are you with him?" Sirius ask Remus and Regulus raises an eyebrow, and Remus noticed how Sirius couldn't bother himself saying Regulus’s name "we are on prefect patrol we'll be done in twenty minutes" Sirius narrowed his eyes at Regulus but nodded understanding and closed the compartment door
And he and Regulus continued walking "Sorry about Sirius" Remus says the last couple minutes of air patrol
"I don't blame him, he still thinks i live in that house" and something inside Remus snaps and he drags Regulus inside one the the empty compartment "Lupin what in merlin's name are you doing!?" Regulus yelps, as he stumbles back "you left!?" Remus questions aggressively hands on Regulus shoulders and Remus knows that it hurts Regulus a little because of the wince but Regulus tried to play off "why do you care?" Regulus bites out "because despite what Sirius says he misses you" Remus bites back
And Regulus looks relieved he eyes soften and Remus think that it makes Regulus look younger and his gray eyes lighter "yes, I left, to my uncle Alphard, they were going to make me marry Rabas-, someone i didn't wish to marry, and I didn’t go to the Potters because that was a trap waiting to happen" Regulus explains and the grip Remus had on Regulus shoulders began dissappear the point where they slowly were sliding down Regulus’s arms "you should tell Sirius it would make him every happy" Remus says as he steps back,
Regulus looks away "yes," and for a moment Remus this is he sees Regulus cheeks go a light rose color and it made him look lovely " patrol has ended.We should go back to our compartments" Regulus says as he closes his pocket watch "Oh yes, umm I'll be leaving first then" Remus says as he steps back and bumps into the compartment door "Oh, shit!" And the gryffindor hears the Slytherin chuckles little and Remus feels his cheeks go warm before he exits the compartment.
Sirius pov
When Remus returned from prefect patrol he was smiling?, why was he smiling, who was he smiling about, did he see someone, why?, when Sirius ran away and started living with the Potters he finally had time to realized his feelings for the boy it took him a while but the moment the realized he told james and he was more than happy to help him find out if the feelings were mutual, but now he saw the boy smiling about something who is not Sirius, prongs and wormtail saw it too, when the train stopped, Sirius stayed seated "pads let's go before we miss the good carriages" James nudged, Sirius nodded ans grab his bag from the overhead shelf and left the compartment he felt James’s glances once in a while
"you should tell him soon" James says as they both exist the train "I want him to come to me, it think I've been obvious about" he complained because how didn't he noticed but prongs and wormtail did?
James’s sighs "merlin padfoot, tell him sooner than later before it's too late" Sirius felt offended what was that supposed to mean?.
At the feast the sorting hat took so long that Sirius didn't even want to touch his food after the sorting Sirius no longer had a appetite, prongs noticed and apparently so did Moony "are you not going to eat?" Remus asked "i think i ate to many sweets in the train" the lie slips out so easily that Remus narrowed his brows but nodded not pushing any further.
Normally Sirius would stay in the Gryffindor common room but Sirius wanted nothing more then to hide in his covers and suffer in silence but of course prongs didn't let that happen and dragged him to the couches by the fire place where they talked for hours and and had fallen asleep until noon but it didn't matter because they had an extra day to adjust , and do whatever so when they woke up with sore back and neck they looked at each other,
they laughed they laughed for so long James started coughing, "what are we going to do about my big fat crush on you-know-who?" Sirius asked, James stood up and as he stretched, he says. "I'll try to pull something at of him, you know get him to talk about the subject," Sirius beamed "oh prongs why didn't we just do that to begin with" james nods his head to the dorms "let go, breakfast, is it an hour and we need to shower and change" Sirius jumps up as if the couch bit his ass and sprints up the stairs to his dorm "dips on first shower" Sirius yells and hears James groan.
