Ron Weasley

RONALD ‘RON’ BILIUS WEASLEY

History

Magic has many possibilities. Even entire bloodlines can be cursed, as with the Greengrass family, whom tend to suffer from a Blood Curse that causes them to die young. But bloodlines can also be blessed. Like some abilities like Parseltongue or Metamorphmagi being passed down from one generation to the next. But it is not always humans whom bless one another’s bloodlines. Sometimes non-humanoid beings can bestow them too.

The Weasley family is one of them. The Weasley’s ancestor Coineus Weasley did a huge favor to a the Gremlin King Jurigg. Jurigg blessed the bloodline of Coineus, whom said they will be born with great intelligence like the Gremlins. Though a side effect is that while Gremlins are intelligent they tend to have manic and obsessive sides, so eccentricities may pop up down in the bloodline.

And generations later, Ronald Weasley was born in a family. Each of his older brothers showed great intelligence though a somewhat crazy side. Bill became a cursebreaker and Charlie a magizoologist, which takes brains but also someone not afraid to risk their lives. Fred and George are very good at crafting magical prank items but their penchant for pranks can get out of control. Percy is intelligent but ridiculously by the book. Even the father Arthur Weasley’s manic side comes from his obsession with Muggles.

The Weasley family wasn’t well off, their grandfather Septimus being cheated out of his wealth long ago by the Malfoys, causing a long time grudge between the bloodlines. Despite that most of his siblings made something of themselves, Ron being in their shadow and getting their old stuff. Ron was not set with that.

Ron would meet Harry on the train and Harry thought he seemed like fun. However, Ron also tended to be rude, lazy and gluttonous. And having no filter by insulting Hermione Granger for trying to correct him in Charms. Hermione didn’t want to try to sound condescending but Ron didn’t listen. Harry got mad at Ron for scaring his old friend of. After an incident with the Mountain Troll Ron felt guilty, as he didn’t want it to happen Hermione got in danger.

Ron seemed genuinely sorry and helped save Hermione’s live so he was forgiven. He opened up about his inferiority complex. Harry said that his brothers weren’t the first Cursebreakers, magizoologists, pranksters or whatever Percy was, but they didn’t stop chasing their dreams just because someone else already did. Also if Ron would base his life around how he would compare to his brothers, he would forget to live. Ron should pick a goal for himself, because he likes it, and not to prove something.

Ron proved to be good at Wizard’s Chess, and his knowledge of Quidditch history and strategy was second to none. But he had no idea if he could set a future around either of those.

Ron would discover his talents when he and his group of friends would recover the Philosopher’s Stone. When in contact with the Stone, trying to keep it from Quirrel/Voldemort with the other’s help, able to create a barrier from the stone below. He seems to have a natural affinity for alchemy, because while the Stone helped, not everyone could have created a barrier like that.

Alchemy has become fewer or far between as alchemy is part potions, part transfigurations. However, alchemy was something different and unique that Ron felt in his bones, and the power sang to him.

While Alchemy would only become an Elective in a few years, Ron would prepare himself in the mean time and when the time comes to take the lesson he’ll do his damnest best. That is next to the dozen or so crazy adventures he and his friend group go through each school year.

Appearance

He has the same appearance as in the books/movies.

Powers and abilities

Ron is fairly intelligent, though lack of self esteem and a bit of innate laziness holds him back. He did little studying and homework and could still pass. He only focuses on the more important subjects he feels align with his interests and that is the only reason he isn’t on par with Hermione and Harry in terms of grades.

Ron is fairly strategic in terms of mindset, being good at chess and Quidditch strategies, though not so much at playing Quidditch in which he is only a decent Keeper. But that strategizing skill translates to the battlefield.

Dueling and working alongside Harry for a while causes him to have become quite decent at defensive spellwork.

He started to apply himself in Potions and his Transfiguration class to get a bit of the training he needs before going into full alchemy. Now, where alchemy differs from normal transfigurations is that you can put the essence or properties of one substance into the next without the need to keep refreshing the magic or use runes which can get damaged and undone.

Some complex alchemic procedures needs tools but over time Ron can use the magic in the atmosphere to transmutate. He can turn one substance into another, the changes only able to be done by other skilled alchemist, create golems and homunculi ect. He can also use it in small and clever ways, as when he was poisoned one time, he was able to turn the poison he ingested into something harmless and digestible like Pumpkin juice. He once defeated a death eater, by getting close enough and touch his chest by turning the oxygen in his lungs in carbon dioxide and make him pass out.

Ron may be a slacker, and maybe emotionally not as intelligent, but when he applies, he is sure to nail it.

Trivia

  • This version of Ron, due to having discovered his talent early on which does something about his inferiority complex and envy would cause him to not be insecure to the point of ditching Harry during the Triwizard Tournament. He is also much better at apologizing for his actions.

  • He is a big eater and loves food in general. But he really loves sweets, mashed potatoes and chicken drumsticks.

  • Is in a polycule with Parvati Patil and Lavender Brown.

  • Somehow, despite his lack of wealth has one of the most complete Famous Witches and Wizard Card collection at Hogwarts, currently rank third.

  • No one knows for sure about the Weasley’s blessing by Gremlins as it is dismissed as rumors, but it has caused some more prejudiced Purebloods to go from calling him ‘blood-traitor’ to ‘Creature-touched’ or ‘creature-spoiled’.

  • Prior to becoming a Keeper in Fifth year, he has been acting as an advisor to Oliver Wood on the Quidditch team.

  • He calls his fav moment of alchemy the transmutation of his Triwizard Yule Ball Dressrobes into something that looks decent. That and turning Malfoy’s underpants to solid steel and making him drop his pants that way.

  • His patronus is a lion instead of a jack Russel Terrier, not because he’s a Gryffindor in the mainline, but because of its symbolism in alchemy.

  • After Scabbers/Pettigrew he still obtains Pigwidgeon as a pet.
