Prologue
Despite my gripes with the author and some flaws, I still enjoy the Harry Potter franchise and I still love writing about it.
And while I have a fanfic going on, I got an idea for a sideseries. An Au which will consists of a few bios like some other recent projects.
In this universe several more species of creature and beings are more intelligent and even sentient. Heck, even wizards and witches are capable of doing more than what they can do in the books or movies though there are still some limits.
Several of these creatures not only have human intelligence but can also assume different forms. And the main focus in this AU is on several characters with creature or not fully human heritage. Though some may also merely have received blessings from certain species which does not make them hybrids but grants certain gifts.
In this AU, a series of events after Dumbledore defeats the Dark Wizard Gellert Grindelwalt. Newt Scamander was heavily involved in it and due to his connections to several creatures, which due to Scamander’s love, kindness and understanding were convinced to aid the Light side in the war. It would create a movement which grants some non-human species certain rights faster then canon. While prejudice still exists and Death Eaters and such, that is inevitable.
The Hogwarts in this AU has allowed more offspring of human and non-humans, hybrids if you will to attend, while before it was hard for them to secure a spot, thanks to Dumbledore’s fighting for the right of non-humans and those of non-magical descent with help of Scamander. Though while he made huge leaps, he still isn’t able to get rid of all corruption.
Though certain Pureblood traditionalists and prejudiced do their best to reverse it and even don’t want to be present anymore in the same school as the ‘filthy halfbreeds and Mudbloods’. Most of these families are Dark with a history of being in Slytherin house. Aside a few Gray families or Slytherin families whom actually aren’t total gits, they pulled out of Hogwarts. With one House nearly empty, the House system was abolished altogether, and the names of the Founders are only used to name the dorms, while the students are mixed and matched across these dorms.
Those families created a separate academy for ‘proper education for Pureblood Wizards and witches without meddling doddering fools allowing us to fraternize with beasts.’ So the Slytherin Learning Institute for Magical Education was formed…and it was too late to spot what the name has implied before they got it approved.
Both Hogwarts and the SLIME are recognized educational facilities, the Ministry approved both, allowing the choice. They neither want to upset the Purebloods whom provide ‘generous donations’ cough-bribes-cough, but also not to upset the International Confederation of Wizards whom are coming down on prejudice harder then before.
So while we take a look at Hogwarts and SLIME and see what kind of students are tutored there, and what kind of staff they have, with some occasional bio about important figures, prepare to meet a colorful cast of hybrids, both new characters, existing or reimagined characters.
