Chapter 3
Ginny hates water, hates swimming and being near the beach.
Ginny hates the sound of water specifically, hates the sound of the shower, of the rain.
When Ginny was eleven years old she made a friend,he was kind and funny, the most charming man she had ever met. When he wrote to her that she could meet him, that all she had to do was hiss at a faucet she had never been more excited
the boy was witty and genial, always taking care of Ginny
but Tom was killing her.
she remembered it in detail, the smile he would give her when she told him she had done how he asked, had been his perfect doll.
Ginny remembered it all.
there is a sound coming from somewhere in the house, she thinks its the kitchen, the faucet was often leaky. Ginny was sweating from the sound of it, she slipped outside of her covers and walked to her door
she didn't leave her room anymore, ever.
her hand enclosed around the doornob and she turned it quietly and slipped out. the nostalgia was instant. Ginny had forgotten what it smelt like, the warmth of it in the summer seasons. Her room smelt stale, and she was always cold inside it.
recovering from the sudden on slough of tears Ginny walks done the stairs towards the kitchen, praying to every God that no one else is awake at this hour.
when she walks into the kitchen she knows her prayers went unanswered, because Percy is staring back at her.
Ginny walks farther inside, trying to reach the faucet, Percy says something to her but she isn't listening because all she can here is the drip drip drip and Ginny knows she is dangerously close to being back inside the chamber.
her intended coffin
Percy appears besides her and wraps a towel around the base, finally stopping the wretched sound
Ginny releases a deep breath she didn't know she head been holding, and looks at her brother
he does not look good. Ginny notices how dark his eye bags are, his hair is cut shorter then its ever been and he has a scar running across his nose and part of his cheek. The scar looked red and puffy still, only a week or so healed by Ginnys best guess;it must have been a slicer to be so deep and thin-they had been trying to cut his throat Ginny realized with hot certainty.
"So you moved back in then" its the only thing she can think to say, but she needs someone to say something.
"yeah" it does not give Ginny much to work with, so she presses deeper
"why"
Percy has always been the best of her sibling at hiding his emotions, Ginny remembered when the twins banned him from their poker matches because he was too hard to read. His mask must have broken with everything else in the war, and Ginny is unsettled as she watches several emotions pass over his face,it makes him look painstakingly young.
when he finally speaks his voice cracks "I owe this family a lot of apologies, figured that was a good place to start."
he surprised Ginny again with his honestly, but she breathes her response out anyways "I forgive you"
Percy looks at her with such desperation she doesn't know what to do with it, so she repeats herself, stronger this time "I forgive you,for all of it"
her brother begins to weep.
Ginny knew a boy who took everything from her, he has already taken one brother, she will not loose another to him.
when hours later the sun begins to rise Ginny goes back to her self made prison, the thing is Ginny wants to see her family, but she is so scared, she doesn't even know what of sometimes-
yes you do
she can practically taste his smirk, she thought after he died the voice in the back of her mind might go away, that she would finally be free of Tom, but he is always there, but Ginny isn't scared of him,he's a ghost that she survived.
No Ginny wasn't scared of tom anymore, she was scared of magic.
