❄ | Dad Spencer Reid → Platonic Co-Parenting: Elle Greenaway & Spencer Reid
- After the Fisher King Case (s01e22 & s02e01), Elle moves in with Spencer. [Spencer lives in a first-floor apartment with excellent building and apartment security, rather than the third-floor walkup in canon.]
- Spencer helps Elle cope with her trauma as best he can, but eventually she decides to teach at the Academy instead of going back into the field with the BAU.
- They continue to live together because it's nice to come home to someone, especially someone who understands. This arrangement helps both Elle and Spencer with the PTSD they develop from the job.
- When Spencer returns from Georgia (s02e14 & s02e15), Elle helps him through his withdrawal and finds him an NA/AA group, Beltway Clean Cops. To make sure he stays clean, she goes through their apartment and cars once a week to make sure he hasn’t gone out and bought a fix. She continues to do this until he earns his 1 Year chip.
- Eventually, around the Harwick Interview (s03e14 -c. April 2008), Elle decides she wants to be a mother. She wants Spencer to be the father, so they go to an IVF Clinic and draw up a custody agreement. Elle’s pregnancy test comes back positive roughly 6 Weeks before JJ finds out she’s pregnant with Will’s baby (s03e18).
- The only member of the Team they tell is Emily, who holds Spencer’s Medical POA, even though Elle is his Next of Kin, Executor/Non-Medical POA
- When the baby is born, they end up with a little girl who looks like Elle but has inherited Spencer’s curls, whiskey-brown eyes, and a high IQ. They name her Emilia Grace Greenaway.
- Around Season 6, Elle and Spencer decide to have a second child - also IVF - and this time have a baby boy that looks like Spencer with Elle’s tanned skin, dark hair, and brown eyes. They name him James Oliver Greenaway.
- Both children have Elle’s EQ and a decently high IQ - around 145 to 155.
Note: While Spencer has equal shared custody of both children, he doesn’t want to give William Reid the satisfaction of more children carrying his name. In fact, if it weren’t for the fact that Spencer completed all of his degrees under ‘Reid’ he would’ve legally changed his name to his mother’s maiden name upon turning 18.

- Jack Hotchner, Henry Jareau, and Tristan Reid are an unholy trinity of terror (and none of their parents have figured out how the fuck it happened)
- Spencer and JJ end up Platonically Co-Parenting out of self-defense and add Hotch & Jess when Haley dies.
Note: Tristain Reid was born August 2005 and was promptly abandoned by his mother, leaving Spencer a single father in the FBI at the age of 22. Jack Hotchner was born in October 2005 . Henry Jareau was born in December 2005 to JJ, whose boyfriend at the time broke up with her when she told him she was pregnant.
