The BAU goes clubbing
At least one scene where Spencer gets absolutely trashed while he’s out clubbing with the team.
- He drinks whatever Penelope places in front of him and participates in drinking games with the others
- His drink of choice is usually Brandy, but he trusts Penelope not to poison him or give him a spiked drink
- Ever prepared, PG keeps cup condoms in her purse
- Every third round or so, Hotch & Rossi takes turns forcing him to drink water
- Whenever he does something ridiculous or cute, Penelope is taking video proof of it to tease him about later
Anyway, at one point during the night they manage to coax him onto the dance floor (because he’s too drunk to refuse) and they lose him in the crowd of bodies for a bit, so they regroup at their table.
- Hotch and Rossi opted not to join them on the floor, because club dancing isn’t really their style/taste
JJ eventually spots Spencer on the dance floor, sandwiched between a woman in front of him and a man behind him, practically having sex. She points him out to the others; JJ, Derek, Emily and Penelope are having a hard time believing it, but Hotch just snorts and digs through his wallet to give Dave $50, who is smirking in his seat.
“What a way to come out to your family.”
Established Marriage - Spencer/Ethan
Legally, Spencer and Ethan can’t get married. However, they have been an item for ages and have lived together even longer. (Ethan is two years older than Spencer, and they met at CalTeach. Let’s say they’ve been dating since they were 15/17 respectively.)
- Despite not being married, they have matching rings, and Spencer has a silicon ring to wear in the field.
When Spencer joins the Academy, Ethan decides to become a Jazz musician in DC.
Gideon is the only one who knows about the relationship while Spencer is in the Academy.
- Hotch finds out about their relationship when Spencer joins the BAU.
- JJ learns about them around 3/4 months after she joins the BAU as Media Liaison.
- Garcia seems to just know, somehow.
- Spencer finally tells Derek he can meet his husband if he stops asking about his dating life.
Ethan and Spencer tie the knot in April 2010, having been together for 14 years now (c. 1996), and Same-Sex Marriage being legal.
Since they don’t have their own kids to worry about, but did have younger siblings, they help babysit the BAU kids whenever necessary.
- When Haley dies (s05, “100”) the husbands lovingly bully Hotch & Jack into staying with them and bring Jess over too.
- Hotch had been staying with them anyway since his attack (s05e01 “Nameless, Faceless”) since Hotch refused to live in Haley’s house and the team refused to let him go back to his apartment.
- (Previously unmentioned, they did the same thing for Elle after she was attacked by Gardner during the Fisher King case.)
