9-1-1 Headcanon #1 & Criminal Minds Headcanons #1 - 5
9-1-1
★ | Sometimes Buck and Eddie get into arguments that are entirely in Spanish. When they do this in front of the Diaz family, they’ll occasionally interject or giggle. None of the 118 knows Spanish, however, so they always get confused when these really fast, heated arguments in Spanish occur.
Criminal Minds
★ | Spencer can read and/or speak several languages:
- Korean*
- Russian* s10e18
- Italian
- Latin
- French
- Spanish
- Elle & Reid bonding
*Canon events, technically.
★ | Ethan & Spencer totally fucked and you’ll never convince me otherwise. Spencer is supposed to be canonically Bisexual as well.
- Add Stephen Gideon to the ex-fuck list
★ | Spencer isn’t a Luddite (anti-tech), but it frustrates him that he can’t read as quickly on a device as he can with paper. Second, he eyes tire more quickly with the blue light from a device. Third, reading paper books reminds him of his mother, who read paper books to him when he was a kid.
★ | Spencer has a Volvo Amazon that he restored with his mother, but he bought a child-friendly Subaru when Hotch had Jack. The Subaru is technically for emergencies, but it gets better gas mileage than the Amazon.
Hotch is the only who taught Spencer how to tactically drive shortly after he left the Academy. He’s also, of course, the one who taught Spencer how to use his service weapon (safely) since Derek got frustrated pretty quickly.
The team doesn’t see Spencer drive all that often. Not because he’s incapable or dislikes it, but because he has a deep burning hatred for traffic that is unique to those who grew up in big city tourist attractions, and he is liable to commit vehicular homicide if he does drive to Quantico or DC
That being said, Reid is the primary driver whenever a case takes them to Vegas, California, or a desert region of the country.
Pictured Subaru models: Impreza Outback Sport or Impreza WRX STi
★ | Around the time Gideon leaves and Rossi arrives - Early Season 3 - Spencer asks David for advice/help: how can he get the team to take him seriously and not treat him like a child? (Granted, SR is like, 27/28 years old.)
- The answer: Shopping (Wardrobe), Haircut, Posture, etc.
