First Year AU

Literally anyone except Hagrid takes Harry to Diagon Alley for his first trip. Head of House preferred. 

Options:

• Pomona Sprout, Hufflepuff → would clearly see his neglect and give him the maternal affection and praise he desperately craves. 

• Minerva McGonagall, Gryffindor → would keep him in line, but would have a soft spot for him because of James and Lily. 

• Severus Snape, Slytherin → would be in a bad moon, but then discovers (through careful questioning and observation) that Harry is living in a boot cupboard and mostly changes his mind about him. 

• Filius Flitwick, Ravenclaw → would eagerly answer all of his questions and provide him with the means to learn what he wants to and what he needs to. 

Fourth YearAU

Tags: Alternate Universe -- Hogwarts Fourth Year (1994 - 1995). Triwizard Tournament. 

This Includes:

• Background: Ron turns his back on Harry in October, half-assed an apology in November, and Harry refuses to accept it. He grows closer to Slytherin House in the meantime, which kind of pisses off Hermione, but she puts up with it. Viktor still asks Hermione to the Ball before Harry does, so he takes Luna to the Ball instead (as friends).
• The Second Task -- February 1995, The Black Lake
  • Draco Malfoy is the thing that Harry misses the most, instead of Ron. Harry had been trying to ignore his growing crush on Draco, who has a betrothal contract with Parkinson. But, well, stupid Tournament.
  • He probably shouldn’t have been surprised, since he doesn’t have siblings or parents and he wasn’t dating anyone currently. 

Not Included, but Interesting:

• Possible connection to The Third Task, but that was written with a Slytherin Harry Potter sorting in mind.

Fifth Year AU

Tags: Alternate Universe -- Hogwarts Fifth Year (1995 - 1996).

This Includes:

• Umbitch’s class could have gone better. → Harry uses his Slytherin Traits to handle Umbridge. 
• In other news, more often than not the students who disagree about the Dark Lord’s return beat the shit out of Harry, which always sends him to the hospital wing. Harry doesn’t fight back - partially because its ingrained behavior from living with Dudley and Vernon, partially because if he fights back he thinks they’ll accuse him of attacking them for no reason. 
  • Harry refuses to tell Madam Pomfrey who is doing the beating, and more than half of these ‘incidents’ leave him unconscious for a day or more. Consequences of this: No DA, No Tutor Harry Potter. 
• Harry ends up being the top student out of like, 5 or 10 to score an outstanding, and No. 11 is only a high Acceptable.

Sixth Year AU

Tags: Alternate Universe -- Hogwarts Sixth Year (1996 - 1997). Potions accident. Anti- Albus Dumbledore, Age Regression/De-aging

This Includes:

• As it usually happens -- Professor Slughorn has assigned the Sixth Year class (new) permanent partners, unless stated otherwise. Slughorn decides to pair Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy. Both boys decide on a silent truce in the classroom and only in the classroom.
• They both look terrible, since neither of them have slept more than four hours in the last three days. Today's assignment is an Aging Draught - the same one the Twins used in 4th Year to pass the Age Line.
• One or both of them fuck up the potion; neither notice, and Slughorn isn’t paying attention to them. The potion starts bubbling violently like it’s going to explode. Harry pushes Draco away from their cauldron, it explodes in a dramatic flash of light.
• When the smoke/potion/steam whatever clears, Draco is sprawled on the floor staring agape at Harry, who is now standing in a pool of his uniform and 6 years old.
• Toddler Harry Potter hates Hermione and Ron (reason unknown - for now) but seems to adore Draco and Blaise and Theo.
• Toddler Harry also has a handful (very few) memories of his life with his parents, which he only experiences in dreams. He remembers Padfoot the best, cries for his mum and dad, and reacts positively to Minerva’s cat animagus.
• Severus and Minerva soften dramatically in the face of an adorable and badly abused/neglected toddler. Remus is called in to take care of Harry at the school, since most of his favorite people are students.
  • Aunt Min, Uncle Sev, Uncle Moony
• Most of the students adore him. 

Not Included, but Interesting:

• Not really relevant, but I can only really envision the potions partners being Harry & Draco, Hermione Granger & Pansy Parkinson, and Ron Weasley & Blaise Zabini.
• Toddler Harry generally shies away from all women 4th Year and above. It is discovered later that Harry feels a kinship with certain guys - Draco, Blaise, Theo, Neville - because they have experienced child abuse/neglect themselves.
