Gringotts’ Wizarding Bank
“We don’t have a Petunia Evans down as any potential care giver for Mr. Potter. Follow me.” The goblin stated as he walked away from the counter, and Severus followed, slightly confused. If Petunia wasn’t supposed to have Harry, then why did she? “The Potter’s Account Manager Ragnar, will be with you shortly.” The goblin stated as he stopped and opened a door, and Severus walked into an office and sat in one of the chairs. The door behind the desk opened and in walked a very well-dressed goblin.
“May your gold be ever flowing.” Severus greeted the goblin as he sat down.
“May your investments be fruitful.” The goblin replied. “I am Ragnar, the Potter’s Account Manager. I have been informed that the Potter Heir has supposedly been found in your possession.”
“Yes, against my will rather. Just so you are aware, I did not kidnap him.” Severus stated.
“Well, someone had. We, at Goblin Nation, have been trying to locate the Potter Heir since his parents’ deaths for the reading of the Potter’s Will, so the young heir can be placed accordingly. The Potter’s were very specific with their demands for his placement.” Ragnar stated.
“You are saying someone illegally dropped the boy off with his mother’s sister without reading where he was supposed to be placed?” Severus questioned.
“That is correct, Master Prince. Do you have any inkling as to who?” Ragnar questioned, and Severus thought about what Petunia had ranted about in the small moment before storming out of the Leaky Cauldron and the letter she thrust into his hand, which Severus pulled out and handed to Ragnar.
Ragnar opened the letter and read through it, a very scary, toothy grin appearing on his face as he worked his way through the letter, and he handed the letter back to Severus upon completion. “That is a very incriminating letter, Master Prince. Should whoever become the young heir’s guardian wish to press charges against the Headmaster, would damage his image greatly, especially considering the spells placed on the letter.”
“Albus.” Severus sneered. “Why does that not surprise me.” Severus then looked down and started reading the letter.
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Dursley,
This letter is written with my deepest regrets as I inform you of your sister and her husband’s death. They were killed late last night by the Dark Lord that has been plaguing the magical community for the past decade. Your sister’s sacrifice for our community, and your nephew, was not in vain, for it brought Lord Voldemort to his end. Your nephew, Harry, survived his encounter at the detriment of this parent’s, which left a blood protection on the boy. As his last living relative, he will be safest in your care, which in turn protects you and your family from harm as well, if Lord Voldemort somehow manages to find his way back to the living.
I understand your reservations on all things magical, but your nephew has no other place to go. His godfather in incarcerated, and his godmother is hospitalized and not likely to be released anytime soon. Please take your nephew in as he will be safest from our community, both good and bad, as no one in our community knows about you.
Please take care,
Albus Dumbledore
Severus put the letter down and stared at Ragnar. “He just took him and placed him with his aunt. My question is this, if he immediately took him and placed him that night, how did he know that Sirius and Alice were as incapacitated as they were? Sirius wasn’t arrested until late in the evening on the 1st and not sent to Azkaban until the 2nd, and the Longbottom’s were attacked on the 3rd.” Severus stated.
“That is a good point, Master Prince. Shall I set up for the Will reading?”
“Yes, the sooner he is placed the sooner he can be properly taken care of.” Severus stated, and Ragnar wrote out a couple of missives, which disappeared with a flash. Harry was once again asleep in Severus’ lap while they waited. There was a knock on the door behind Ragnar, who got up and answered it; he was handed a scroll, and the other goblin whispered something to Ragnar before he left.
“It seems I moved a little more quickly than I intended. Before we read the will, and as we wait for the other beneficiaries, I need to do an inheritance test on the young heir, just to make sure this is the young Potter.” Ragnar explained.
“Of course. Three drops of blood, correct?” Severus questioned.
“Yes, onto this parchment, please.” Ragnar said as he pulled out a piece of parchment along with a small pin. Severus roused Harry before taking the pin and pricking Harry’s left ring finger; he handed the pin back to Ragnar as he let the drops of blood drip onto the parchment before healing the prick on Harry’s finger. Ragnar grabbed up the parchment and sighed. “It looks like we have to give the young lord a cleansing before he leaves.” Ragnar stated as he handed the parchment to Severus.

Severus set down the parchment and didn’t know what to say, but Harry perked up in his lap as there was a knock at the door. “Moo’y!” Harry shouted, which just so happened to be in Severus’ ear, and the door opened.
“Cub.” Remus’ voice whispered from behind him, and Harry stood up and made grabby hands at Remus, who chuckled. “Okay, come here, cub.” Remus hoisted Harry up by the armpits and swung him around, making Harry squeal out a laugh, before he sat down with Harry on his lap. Severus glanced over and chuckled as he watched Harry brush his small fingers through the scruff on Remus’ chin. “Yes, cub. Uncle Moony needs to shave.” Remus chuckled, and he looked up at Ragnar. “Are we waiting for anyone else? Sirius is in Azkaban; Alice is at St. Mungos. Both of Lily and James' parents are dead.”
“Professor Minerva McGonagall is an option for guardianship. That would be everyone.” Ragnar stated as there was another knock.
“Mi!” Harry shouted, this time in Remus’ ear, who visibly flinched, and the door opened to reveal Minerva.
“Remus. Severus.” She said as she found her way to the chair on Remus’ left. “Why are we only now getting notified about James and Lily’s will?” she asked.
“Young Lord Potter was only brought to have the will read; he was hidden from Goblin Nation before the reading. As the will could not be read without him present.” Ragnar stated.
“Albus placed him with Lily’s sister; I thought he knew he was supposed to be placed there. Albus said…” Minerva paled at that realization.
“I can state with certainty, as I was there when the Potter’s wrote their wills, that young Lord Potter was never supposed to be placed with Lady Potter’s sister.” Ragnar stated.
“Please tell me that Albus told her about Harry’s medical issues?” Remus questioned.
“Not that I saw. Albus sent me and Hagrid off before he approached the house.” Minerva stated.
“From the brief rant Petunia did at the Leaky Cauldron, before she disappeared as quickly as she could, Albus left Harry on the doorstep with a letter, and that letter had no information on Harry in it other than saying something about a blood protection, and he was safest with Petunia because of said blood protection. What sort of medical issues would she need to know?” Severus questioned.
“Harry is a preemie baby, and because of that Harry is on a special diet. On top of that Harry was born without his Optic Nerves in both eyes, meaning he is blind.” Remus explained, and Severus stared at him.
“What? But he shouted both of your names in recognition when you arrived.”
“Harry uses magic to see. He didn’t recognize me but my magic.” Remus explained. “He uses his magic to sense objects around him to get around. Sirius was teaching him to even fly a little bit, on a training broom, obviously. It was quite amazing to watch.” Remus laughed, before he got a sad look in his eyes.
“Pafoo.” Harry shouted as he slapped Remus’ face, which drew Remus’ attention back to him.
“Harrison. No hitting.” Remus scolded.
“Want Pafoo. Bad Pe.” Harry stated, and Remus had a confused look on his face.
“What does that mean?” Minerva questioned, beating Severus to the question by just seconds.
“He wants Sirius, and Peter is bad. I understand the first part, but not the second.”
“Perhaps, the will shall clear things up. Shall we get to it?” Ragnar asked.
“Yes.” Severus stated.
