Pleasant Pansy Parkinson and Pillow Talk

The three Slytherins take their seats on the soft leather furniture around the fire. Pansy kicks off her heels and tucks her legs under herself as she continues to look over Draco’s posts.

Theo and Blaise sit on the couch to her left.

“She really saved his arse you know.” Blaise says softly.

They sit quietly for a few minutes. Eventually, Pansy breaks the silence.

“He’s such a fucking idiot. How can someone be so smart and yet so fucking stupid!”

Theo and Blaise recount the evening. “The portrait let her in, you know.” Blaise says. “He saw what was happening and opened the door for her.”

Pansy is stunned into silence.

“So she came all the way from Gryffindor Tower and organized all this all on the spot? To help him?”

“Yup,” Theo says, popping the “p” and pouring them all another round.

“I never thought I would be saying this but… I… need to…” she gulps, “th-th-thaaank her.” She chokes out, looking disgusted at the very idea of thanking a Gryffindor.

She stands, resolutely, and begins walking back to the dorm room but is intercepted by Blaise. She stops and looks up at him, tilting her head inquisitively.

“Not tonight you won’t.”

“Why the hell not?”

“Yes?” Theo says.

Pansy turns her head to look at Theo. “That hasn’t been funny for years.”

“I respectfully disagree!” Theo says with a smile. “ I quite enjoy word play!”

“Pansy,” Blaise says, turning her back around to him, “you can’t thank her right now because I’m pretty sure Draco is…thanking her right now, if you get my drift.”

“Wait what? Granger? And Draco? And fucking GRANGER?” Pansy says incredulously.

“We’ll, yes,” Theo drawls, his smile widening, “he is probably fucking Granger as we speak. I don’t think they want company. But who knows? They may be open to a third in the future, but I call dibs!”

Pansy returns to her armchair. “Give me that bottle.”

“So,” Hermione begins, “how about those pajamas?” She smiles over at Draco.

He looks over at her and slowly grabs his wand. He looks at her chestnut curls that have become unruly with the festivities and thinks about how he has always loved how her hair seemed to be its own sentient being. He waves his wand, and her clothes transform into satin, emerald green pajamas. Shorts and a button down. “Green suits you.” He says softly.

“These are by far the most luxurious pajamas I have ever worn. I should stop by more often if the amenities are always of such quality.”

Draco chuckles.

“Now, to be serious for a moment. Mal- Draco,” Hermione starts.

“Just talk. I won’t interrupt.”

“I know you did a lot of things that you didn’t want to. I know that you were forced to participate in some awful situations. But it wasn’t your fault- she takes his hand in both of hers- I know what happened in the Manor wasn’t your fault. And I know it hasn’t been easy for you to come back here, to Hogwarts, with the war having literally just ended and being under a microscope, having to endure the stares and jeers and Gods know what else.

“I saw the posts, and I saw how people were laughing. I know my friends wouldn’t give you too hard of a time, but I don’t know how everyone else would react. I didn’t know if anyone would try to hurt you and…” she squeezed his hand, “I care about you Draco. Quite a bit. And for quite a long time, if I am to be honest…and, if you ever need to talk, about anything, to someone who won’t try to hex you, I want you to know I’m always here.”

Draco could feel his heart swell at her kind and genuine words. He leaned over and envelopes her in his arms, one gently fisting her unruly mane. “Thank you” he whispered, kissing the top of her head. “Thank you for everything.” He placed a kiss on her temple.

Hermione stifled a yawn.

“Come on, let’s lay down.” Draco said softly.

They wiggled under the lush covers and she let out a contented sigh.

“I agree Granger, the amenities are quite nice here.” He said, softly kissing her lips. She rolls towards him, putting her hand on his chest and resting her head in the crook of his shoulder.

“Goodnight Draco.”

“Goodnight Hermione.”

“Hermione…” Draco mumbles.

“Hmm?”

“Will you join me for breakfast tomorrow in the Great Hall?”

“Absolutely. Just run any tweets by me first.”
