The Pet Snake
James was in deep thoughts, after Snape's appearance. He was also extremely pissed about Albus, for pulling this act. He did enjoy the fear in Snape's face to be honest.
Sirius walked into James's office, to find his friend with a thoughtful look on his face. "Prongs. What are you thinking?". James shook his head and looked at his friend "Snape. I'm thinking about Snape." Sirius looked at him, like he was crazy "Why in Merlin's name would you be thinking about SNIVELUS??!!!! Are you okey? Are you Imperiused? Please don't tell me that idiot used a love potion, Merlin I'm going to be sick". He said, turning a little green, James laughed at his friend "Padfoot relax! First of all, ew! Second, there is another reason I was thinking about Snape. Did Moony tell you what happened?". Sirius frowned and nodded.
"Ok so you know what happened. Turns out it was all Albu's plan, to send Snape here and after we scared the shit out of him, he left. I honestly do not think he'll ever try something similar again. But, there is something else too. We both know, even tho we don't want to admit it, that Snape has some power. He is curently stuck between Albus and Voldy. So I was thinking, what if we could get him in our side?" Sirius was flabbergasted.
"Wait. Let me get this straight. You want to recruit SNAPE of all people. Why? Yea sure, he has power, I mean we did fought against him and trully he was deadly. But he is a Death Eater James! And did you forget what happened with Moony, with Lily?" Sirius answered. He was standing up again.
James shigned. Sirius had a point but, maybe..."Look Pads I know all these. I know he is a Death Eater. But you said it yourself, he is a damn good fighter! Trust me I hate the guy as musch as you. I'm not saying to become buddy-buddy with the guy. All I'm saying is that he could be a good asset for our side, we could use him against Albus!". Sirius frowned, use him? "Maybe. But I just... I don't know Prongs. Yea I guess, but do you trust him?".
James shook his head "Merlin no! No I don't trust him. But Albus does, we both know he changed sides, yea for Lily, not that I'll ever allow him near her. But he is usefull, besides I never said how we are going to inform him". He was smirking and Sirius had a knowing smile. Oh yes! Time for some pranks. "Sirius. I think I have an awesome idea, that will probably make Snape pee himself." Sirius was litteraly bouncing "Tell me!". James smirked "We have the map, we have my cloack, we know how to get into Hogwarts. How about the six of us pay a visit to dear Sevvie?". Sirius frowned "Six?". His friend nodded "Me, You, Moony, Reggie, Fabian and Gideon".
"Actually boys. Make it seven". They both turned to the voice, to find Lily standing at the door. "I'm coming with you. Simply because I found a way to persuade Severus to join us." The other two frowned "And what is the way you found?". Lily smirked "I know how to remove the Dark Mark!" They both looked at her with mouths open "WHAT?!". Lily chuckled and nodded "I can remove the Mark. Infact I already removed it from Reggies arm." Sirius ran up to her and picked her up twirling her around "You beatiful, smart amazing woman! I could kiss you right now!". James cleared his throat "Padfoot. You do remeber that Lily is my wife and that you are married to moony right?" Sirius put Lily down and pouted "Fine! I'm going to see Reggie and the Twins, You are really coming with Lils?" She nodded.
"Fine. Padfoot gather the others, we are going to Hogwards!" Sirius saluted him and left. Lily walked up to her husband and sat on his lap. "So, you want to get Severus on your side?" James kissed her "Our side, my love and yes!".

Seven figures approached the Castle. They got inside, using one of the unknown entances, through the back of the castle. They walked slowly and silently towards the dungeons. They finally stopped in front of a door. Regulus stopped them, before one of them could reach for the handle "Alright People. I knew Snape, I know ho paranoid this guy is. He sure as heck has a ward around his room. One we sure do not want to trigger. Fabian, you are the best with wards, can you check and bypass it?". The door opened. "That was actually pretty easy" he said as he walked in. The rest srugged and followed. The room was in dark colors, there was a desk two couches and three armchairs. Sirius made a triumphant sound "Guys. I found the alcohol!". Remus walked to his husband "Damn! Snape sure does have, an extreme amound of Firewhiskey. I wonder how he manages to stay sobber!". James laughed.
"I'm more interested in his books! That, is an awesome collection! Damn" Answered Regulus, Sirius rolled his eyes at his brother "Can someone remove the nerd from there?". Gideon chuckled and and pulled Regulus away. Lily shook her head, was she the only sane one here? She is really dealing with children in adult bodies! "Boys! We are here for a reason remeber?". That sobbered them up and James opened the Map. "Alright. He is curentlly in his lab. That's good, it means he didn't notice anything. Now all we have to do, is wait for our Little Snake." He said with a smirk.
Severus Snape finally finished his potion, he bottled it and started cleaning his station. He really needed, some Firewhiskey tonight and was looking forward to finally, go to his room. He walked to his room and opened the door, he finally looked up only to find the Marauders, The Prewett twins, Lily and another figure in his room.
"Hello Snape. It's so nice of you to finally, grace us with your presence. Please have a seat." James Potter was smilling at him from his office, while the Marauders and Co. where standing around him smikring. "How the fuck did you get in here Potter?!". James smirked and pointed to the chair in front of him, Severus sneered and sat. "We have some questions for you Snape. But first tell me, have you recently read the Prophet?" Snape nodded making James smile "Excellent! So you know about Fabian and Gideon. But do you know of our other friend?" He said pointing to the cloacked figure on the side.
"No. I don't" he said as he looked at the figure, his magic felt familiar, but he couldn't place a name.
Sirius smirked "Say hi to my little brother". The figure droped the hood and Regulus Black was standing there, very much alive. Snape blinked and stood up "HOW IN MERLIN'S NAME??!!". Regulus smiled "Sit down and listen." For the first time in his life Snape did exactlly as he was told. James smirked and stood up, he walked over to the alcohol and poured himslef a glass. "I'm going to be honest with you Snape. I don't like you. Infact I despise you, you do have some skill and power, I'll admit that. But other than that I hate your guts."
He took a sip from the glass and continiued " Regulus over here, played a vary smart and dangerous game, kinda like the one you play. Unfortunately for you, Reggie is smarter and you are stupid. He managed to trick Voldy-Moldy, giving us the chance to actually get rid of the fucker." Severus looked at Regulus in a new found light "How?" Regulus waved him "Later". Sirius was the one to speak this time "Did you know, that your Master found a way to become immortal and actually succeeded? I guess not". Sirius smirked at Snape's face. James took one more sip from his glass.
"There is a reason we are here. Now as you probably heard, from Albus. We turned to the Neutral side and we are officially Grey. Before we say anything more, I need to clear a few things with you Snivy. I'm guessing that Albus was the one informing you, about us changing sides. Also I'm pretty sure he was the one, that pushed you to barge into my house, to kidnap my wife and son. I'm going to be honest with you Snape." Severus snorted,
"Please Potter. You are so arrogant, you can't even see far from your own shadow. You think that what? You'll come here and try to play the bigger person, to persuade me to do something for you?" He sneered.
"I am not playing the bigger person. I am the bigger person. While you are sitting here stewing in your misery and bitterness, I changed. I grew up Snape, I mattured over the years. Can you say the same? No. So stop pretending. Look I'm going to let you in, on a little secret. I hate both Dumbledore and Voldy! Voldemort literally tried to kill my family. That old no good no nose pale ass raisin, came after my family, after my son!" He looked at Severus and smirked. "Answer me this. Did Albus tell you, what he had done to my son? Did he tell you where he wanted my son?". Snape frowned, but shook his head. He could see that Potter looked genuenly angry. Potter pulled up a sheet of parchement and pushed it towards him. Snape read it and hie eyebrows disapeared to his hairline, while his eyes almost fell out.
"HE PUT BLOCKS ON A CHILD???!!" James nodded, but before Snape could say anything else he interupted. "That's not the only thing. Albus hid thinks from us, but he also decided, that he'll be the one to dictate how we raise our son. He had the audacity to demant that we abandone Hadrian to Lily's sister, Petunia" Severus lost it.
"HE WHAT? PETUNIA? HE WANTED TO LEAVE A BABY WITH THAT BITCH?! WHAT IS WRONG WITH HIM?". James, walked to the cabinet again and poured a second glass, handing it to Snape, who drowned it in seconds. James took his seat again. "Listen Snape. Right now, you are in between two diferent masters. I hapen to hate both. Albus is a manipulative old goat, you are his puppet and he is your, puppeteer. He controls your every move, he feeds you false information. Voldy on the other hand. Apart from being the pale, no nose bastard of a human and a snake, is also your Master, only worse. Where Albus would have that grandfatherly look of disappointment, that I'm planing on ripping of his fave someday. Is more tolerable. The snake wannabe, I'm guessing is not that forgiving. I guess, If you fail there is a Cruciatus on it's way to you correct?". Snape nodded.
"That's true. Where Albus would be disappointed and use the whole, ' I'm so disappointed in you my boy' speach. The Dark Lord would never be that forgiving." Sirius smirked and looked at the others who nodded. "What if there was a way to be free of both?". Snape looked up at him. "I wish it was that simple Black. But I carry the Mark and Albus is holding me by an oath." That got Lily's attention.
"What oath Severus?". He refused to look at her "Severus. I'm asking one more time, what oath?". Snape took a deep breath and looked at his readheaded friend. "When I found out about the Dark Lord plan, on attacking you, I went to Albus. I begged him, I begged and begged to save you. To hide you, all of you. He then asked me what I would give him in return to hide you. He made me, make an unbreakable oath to him, to be his spy, to protect your son once you die". Lily was sheathing in anger, James broke his glass, Remus was growling, Sirius was cursing in french with Regulus, Fabian and Gideon were planing on pracking the bastard till he dies from a heart attack. & That Manipulative old fucker! He wanted us dead! Dead! He planned it all. He wanted Hadrian and we were an obstacle to him. I'm going to rip that lying tongue out of his mouth!& .
Snape bit his lip. He was a gonner "There is one more thing." They stopped and looked at him, he took a deap breath "There is a reason he attacked you. A while ago there was a Prophecy made, that stated that your son, would be the end of the Dark Lord." James narrowed his eyes. "And how come you know about this?". Snape gulped "I know, because I heard the Prophecy, when it was spoken." Remus stood up and grabbed snape from his colar, raising him up "I am barrely containing my wolf. Speak or I'll have you for dinner!" Remus's eyes were glowing, making Snape pale and nodde.
"The Prophecy said ' The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord Approaches. Born to those who have thrice dified him. Born as the seventh month dies.....The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies'. That's what I heared, the Prophecy was spoken to Albus by Trelawney." Remus let him go and Snape fell back to his chair. "Albus! Trelawney is the one that made the Prophecy. But tell me Snape, If you are the only one that heared it, how did The Dark Lord found about it?" Asked Lily, her eyes were burning and Snape knew he fucked up.
"I....I. I told him." He whispered, but they heared it. Snape tried to look up, but a fist was conected with his face, sending him on the floor. He looked up to see Lily glaring at him, with tears in her eyes "YOU MONSTER!!!". Snape tried to back away from her, but his back was stopped by a pair of legs. He looked up, only to find James Potter glaring at him, his wand in his arm and his magic covering the rooms. He heared a loud growl, only to find that Remus had fanally lost control, his eyes were glowing, his fangs and nails extended. Sirius looked so much like his mother at that point, Snape almost thought he was looking right at Walburga Black.The twins both looked murderous. And Reguluspulled out his wand. "Any last words Snape?".
"No, no wait, please. Please stop. I can help please!" he begged, but that wouldn't work this time. "You can help? HELP?! How exactly?" asked Lily. Regulus smiled "I think I know how." They all looked at him. "You could tell us everything you know about both Albus and Voldy! And I mean everything!". Snape nodded "Yes, yes I'll tell you anything you need to know, anything and everything."

Finally one hour later Snape finished. Snape was 3 bottles less, by that time. "Alright. I guess now we know everything, there is only one thing left. What shall we do with you Snivy?" asked James. Remus as the one that answered "I hate to say this, but we still need him. Now don;t get excited Snape, I would much prefere to eat you, but you have your uses. I think we should deprive Albus off his Spy, while at the same time, Voldy is loosing the only person that could save him. What do you guys think?". Sirius nodded, so did Regulus, Fabian and Gideon. James and Lily were still sceptical. "I guess you are right. It'll be an amazing F you to both of them. Yes, although we still hate you. I'm going to give you an option that'll benefit all of us."
Snape frowned but stayed quiet. " How about, you join our side and we provide a way for you to get rid of the mark, your oath and a safe way out of England?". Snape's eyes almos fell out. "Where is the trap?". James shook his head "There is no trap. Now are you in?".
"And how do I know, that you can remove the Mark and the oath?". Regulus smirked and lifted up his sleeve, showing his unmarked forehand. Snape jumped up and took his arm, in his hands, inspecting it "How?". Regulus smiled "Join us and we'll show you." Snape looked like he was thinking it and finally nodded "Fine I'll do it!". Lily stood up.
"Give me your hand." He did as she said, Lily put her palm over the mark and started speaking in Parseltongue. Snape morphed his face from pain and had to bite his tongue, in order to not scream. It was five minutes of agonising pain later, when Lily stoped. Snape looked at his Mark free arm and almost cried "Thank you." Lily smiled. "Now, we have to releash you from the oath." Regulus hummed "Question. His oath was about your deaths right? Doesn't that mean, that since you are alive the oath is unvalid?" Sirius shook his head.
"Not exactly brother. Here is the thing. First of all the oath is unbreakable. Also it was made towards Albus. Meaning he is the only one that can releash him." Snape smiled "That is true Black. The first part that is. But this oath, is not to Albus. I made this oath to Lily, thinking she'll die. But since she is still alive, she is the one that can control the oath, not Albus, you" he said looking at Lily. She looked at him and smirked, she then took his hand "I Lily Marie Potter nee Slytherin, hearby releash the one Severus Tobias Snape from his oath. So I say it, So Mote It Be". There was a white light covering their hands. Snape looked at his old friend "I am free. Thank you Lily. Thank you all. I'll start packing." James nodded.
"We'll stay here and wait 'till you're ready. Then we'll escort you to our Home and from there to The international Floo station." Snape nodded "Thank you Potter." he said and went to his room to pack.

Forty minutes later, they were standing in the international Floo station, Lily was saying goodbye to Severus. "Goodbye and thank you, Thank you all". James chuckled "We might be enemies, but we both have the same people that we hate. Remeber, If you ever need any help, call the Marauders. Overall, never set foot in England again". Snape laughed at that "I know Potter. Give them Hell for me would you?" James nodded. "One more thing before you leave. Always remember..."
