Remus Lupin
29th November, 2022
"So, it was Remus Lupin?!" I asked, unable to believe the information that Taehyun relied to me as we were seated on those stairs of the Clock Tower.
"Yes." Taehyun nodded.
"It was Remus Lupin, you know that friend of Sirius...you know, right?" Taehyun glanced at me. I rolled my eyes. "Ofcourse I do." I scoffed.
"Yeah. So, it was Remus Lupin who somehow came up with a scheme with probably some help from the library to break off the marriage between Sirius Black and his cousin, Narcissa Black. But the trouble here is that I still can't figure it out how exactly he managed to do that."
I didn't want to complain about how he had called for me yet again without any noteworthy progress.
"I'll talk to you again next month then, once after I manage to discover how Remus Lupin regulate the issue and on our last meet, I'll direct you by telling when, where and what exactly you should do." Taehyun explained.
I nodded.
Taehyun snatched his bag that was beside him and was about to leap up when I spoke again. "Why are you literally dying to keep my mouth shut so you can keep your relationship private?"
Taehyun let go of his bag slowly and sighed. "Delphini is not my girlfriend." I blinked twice. I might've heard that wrong. "Excuse me?" "Delphini is not my girlfriend." Taehyun repeated.
"Who's she then?"
"She's.....just someone I want to help. Someone I want to keep a secret." Taehyun turned to me with soft eyes. "I don't love her. I just want to help her." He said.
"What if I betray you and your private secret is revealed to the world?" I smirked, maintaining the eye contact. "You wouldn't, I know." Taehyun flashed a shallow smile, his eyes not leaving mine.
It suddenly felt so awkward. This.. this is weird. I couldn't look into his eyes anymore. Instinctively, I averted my gaze to my lap. Though I was completely aware that Taehyun hadn't turned away.
"You're saying you trust me?" I scoffed.
"I do."
Wait- no. That's not the response I intended to have. What do I do now? "You shouldn't trust Slytherins without second thoughts. Who knows when I might stab you in the back?" After gathering myself, I turned back to him, meeting his calm brown eyes again.
"I trust you."
"You shouldn't."
"I know. But I do."
"I thought you were smart." I scoffed, turning away again. I'm recently unable to look into Taehyun's eyes for a much longer time. It just makes me.... uncomfortable.
"I know you won't make me regret my decision of trusting you." Taehyun said, calmly. This is weird. I want to escape. Why would he trust me?? "Found any clue on Jungkook's girlfriend yet?" Taehyun changed the topic. I was glad that he did so.
"No... I'm quite disappointed. I did follow him multiple times but I was just disappointed." I have no clue what's making me overshare everytime we exchange words.
But...at the moment it feels so right.
Though I regret it later.
"It's getting late." Taehyun stared out into the nature. It was slowly getting darker. "We should go back to our common rooms." He suggested. I jumped onto my feet.
"Yeah, I reckon you wouldn't want to be spotted with me." I sniggered. Taehyun rose up as well. "I'm already bestowed death glares for helping you out." Taehyun said, truthfully. "Your house hates Slytherins, don't they?" I started my steps.
"I don't think it's for any invalid reasons. Your house bullies atleast one person from our house everyday." Taehyun replied. "Can't argue with that." I shrugged. Taehyun chuckled.
Our arguments were getting softer. This is something I've noticed in the past few weeks.
Is that....a good thing?
Eventually, we spilt ways as he went to the Ravenclaw tower while I headed for the Slytherin common room towards the dungeons. As I reached the intersection of the hallway, I spotted Jungkook exiting the common room.
Okay...
Just one last stalk and if today, I fail to reveal his secret girlfriend, I'll quit following him.
Chanting that in mind, I clutched my bag and tailed behind him.
I stalked him, keeping a decent distance between us. I wasn't intending to let myself be seen. Jungkook kept looking around from time to time, making sure no one's following him. Such an idiot!
Students are approaching the Great Hall for dinner. So, there aren't much students around. The ones who are, are just occupied in their own conversation among themselves.
Jungkook keeps on walking. The amount of students around keeps on decreasing.
And finally, we reach a place with no students around. Jungkook at last, enters an empty classroom and closes the door soon after. I hope he hasn't locked it.
I stride to the door of the classroom. Hah! He hasn't locked it! Foolish! I pull the door a little. So that I could listen or see what's going on in there with the gap.
Suddenly I heard Jungkook's voice.
"I know, but I've hunted even the restricted section but I cannot find anything yet...." Jungkook sighed. "But don't worry, even if I fail to break off this marriage, I will elope with you. Now come here."
And then I heard those weird sounds that are made when one snogs.
Well, first of all, ew. But, isn't this a great opportunity? I smirk to myself as a plan erupt in my mind. Finally, it's time to uncover Jungkook's secret.
I jostled the door ajar and leaned on the doorframe. "Jeon Jungkook. I guess I finally managed to catch you red handed with your secret girl," Wait what "-friend." I ended my sentence.
Though the room was dimly lit. You could still make the outlines of people. And, the person Jungkook was with, wasn't his girlfriend. It couldn't be his girlfriend. For, it was not a girl.
It was.....a guy.
Jungkook quickly released the guy, hastily. I couldn't see his face tho. With a swing of my wand, I lit up the candles of the room, bringing in brightness in the room.
"KIM TAEHYUNG?!" I shrieked as I was finally able to see the face of the guy with Jungkook.
Kim Taehyung, a 7th year Gryffindor, half-blood. The Gryffindor guy that I often spot Jungkook with. Merlin's beard-
"What the hell are you doing here?!" Jungkook barked. "I thought you said you had a girlfriend?" I raised a brow. "You have a girlfriend?" Taehyung abruptly turned to Jungkook. "What? No!" Jungkook defended himself.
"I never said I had a girlfriend." Jungkook moved his hands furiously.
It made me realise. He's right. He never mentioned a girlfriend. He just said that he loved someone else. He never brought up anything related to a girl.
"So, this is why you cannot marry him? Because he's a guy....oh wait... Aren't you a blood traito-" I recieved a glare from Jungkook. Let's not start a fight. "Aren't you a half-blood?" I mended the sentence.
"I am." Taehyung nodded.
I turn to Jungkook, expecting an answer. "Yeah, it's not because he's a guy... It's because he's a half-blood." Jungkook sighed, helplessly.
It made me crack up. "How pathetic!!"
"Y/n, please keep this a secret..." Jungkook's voice grew gentler. My laughter came to a halt. "Why should I? What's in it for me?" I'm already scheming to inform this to our parents. Oh, how humiliated Jungkook would be.
"I'll give you my time-turner." Jungkook suddenly said. I thought I heard that wrong. "Wait what?" I questioned. I'm sure I've misheard it.
"I said, I'll give you my time-turner. Also, I've been looking up to find a solution for-" I didn't let Jungkook finish his sentence. "I have a way. Keep your time-turner ready. I'll break off this marriage soon."
I'll get my hands on that time-turner soon!
