Decorating

"Do we have to?" Regulus pouted, lain on the couch dramatically. It was James and Regulus' first Christmas spent together as a married couple in their own house.

"Yes, love, we have to put up decorations," James returned amusedly, a fond smile gracing his lips.
"Halloween was barely a month ago," quipped Regulus, standing with a sigh to help James with the tree.

James gave him an appreciative peck on the forehead, standing the tree upright with Regulus' help.
"I understand that, however Christmas will come soon enough," said James fondly. Regulus just sighed, grabbing a silver sparkly ornament and hanging it right in the middle.

"That's the spirit, love. Looks great," James says encouraging, placing a gold one around it as Regulus grabs the candy-cane striped garland to spiral the tree's body.

And so it goes, ornaments hung, lights strung, and bells rung. Soon enough, they're placing the last mistletoe hanging from the kitchen doorway up together. James kisses Regulus gently on the cheek, then the nose, then the other cheek, and finally his lips, holding him close as the smaller boy halfheartedly pushes him away with a fond roll of his eyes.

They spend the rest of the day admiring the decorations, singing and dancing to silly Christmas songs and watching stupid movies to get in the spirit of Christmas.
