James and Regulus stood in the middle of the living room, Christmas songs flowing softly from the record player on the mantle above the fireplace. They swayed together slowly, singing along together and pressing kisses to each other during breaks between verses.
Both boys had a serene smile on their faces as they hum,
holding each other close as the dance, waltzing throughout the living room, matching each other’s breathing, little murmurs of “I love you”’s passed between chaste kisses and sleepy eyes, so blissfully domestic. The smell of fresh cookies wafts through the air from their previous baking session. James blissfully holds Regulus close, keeping the warmth between the two of them while the record cracks and breaks slightly, imperfect and beautiful like them both.
And they’re happy. They’re so very happy and at peace together, and nothing could be better than the two of them in this moment.
