Harry Potter sat in the three broomsticks as he talked with Ron and Draco about his first term as a Hogwarts teacher. “It's a lot harder than what I thought it would be as I loved doing it when we were fifth years but it was the best decision. Absolutely love it. Everything is great!”
Ron looked closely at his friend. “Still haven't got Snape to agree to go out with you then?”
Harry's shoulders dropped. “No. I have asked him a few times, bought him gifts. Nothing.”
Draco patted Harry's hand. “I think that you need to do something that will even surprise him, so he will take notice.”
“Only thing that will surprise him now is if I do a strip dance.” Harry moaned.
Draco smirked. “That might not actually be a bad idea.” At the shocked looks he got, Draco laughed. “Listen. Here is what you do.”
Harry was mumbling to himself as he walked through the castle and made his way down to the dungeons, what Draco had suggested was a good idea if it actually worked, but he said he knew Severus, so Harry was really hoping this would work. He reached Severus’ office door and knocked.
Severus opened his door and looked Harry up and down. “No flowers or plants or potion ingredients today Professor Potter? Finally come to admit what I have been stating? You do not fancy me. It is a fad that will pass.”
“You are right in that the gifts didn't work. I have had to change tactics in hopes you will finally believe that I do like you and do want you Severus.”
“Oh? And what is this new tactic?”
Harry smiled. “You have your own private Harry Potter advent calendar, instead of opening a little door each morning and getting a sweet, you see me each morning and get one item of clothing.” when Severus seemed to be thinking. Harry pressed on. “Come on, Severus. What have you got to lose?”
Severus said nothing, he merely reached out and pulled the scarf from around Harry's neck.
Harry smiled. “See you tomorrow.”
