Memories
After a while Vi stopped crying and just held Caitlyn’s hand stroking it with her thumb “I still remember when you got me out of Stillwater I left you to get down to Zaun yourself. You don’t know this but I saw you” vi chuckled lightly “I thought it was so cute how you tried to do parkour, surprised you didn’t break anything” Vi said chucking lightly “I need to teach you properly, there are beautiful places in Zaun that I would love to show you”
All the memories were flooding back, she kept replaying them in her head, and maybe, just maybe there was a chance Caitlyn could hear her so Vi wanted to remind her
“And when we went into that brothel, I pinned you against the wall, you’re face, I will never forget it” vi laughed as tears started to slowly form in her eyes
“And when you got hurt, I helped you to your house, to your room” Vi said “We were on your bed and was telling you about the past, about Powder and I” Vi smiled bringing her hand to Cait’s cheek “You brought your hand to my cheek and stroke it” Vi stroked Caitlyn’s cheek “That was the moment I fell in love with you” Vi said wiping the tears falling down her face and sniffling
Vi sat down still holding Caitlyn’s hand, she looked down
“I want to marry you one day Caitlyn, I want to have a life with you, and everything in between. I want to keep writing our story from the beginning to the end, from the good to the bad, from the-“ Vi took a breath “from the always to the forever”
Vi sighed “you probably can’t even hear me”
“There’s probably no point in me even saying this” Vi muttered
She sighed again but carried on “Cait you are the most amazing person that has ever come into my life, I don’t know what I’d do without you. Actually I think I have an idea” Vi shook her head “But I don’t want to think about that at all. I’d never want to spend another day here if it wasn’t with you” tears start to form more in Vi’s eyes “you are my life Caitlyn” vi said again “I want to spend the rest of my life with you and no one else”
Vi put her forehead down on Caitlyn’s hand
In a low croaky voice
“Are you asking me to marry you, Violet?”
Vi looked up with tear stained eyes “oh my god”
She rushed up off her seat onto her feet, wiping her tears that were now falling down
Cait chuckled lightly “he-“
But before Caitlyn could even say ‘hey’, Vi kissed her passionately, cupping Caitlyn’s face with one hand. Caitlyn was shocked and didn’t expect this but eased into it immediately. As Vi was kissing her Caitlyn cupped Vi’s face too. They took a breath in between for a split second, Vi turned her head and kissed Caitlyn again, Caitlyn didn’t mind it whatsoever, in fact she missed it, she missed Vi
Vi put her head on Caitlyn’s. They looked into each others eyes and Vi smiled with a tear rolling down her cheek
Caitlyn smiled and wiped the tear rolling down Vi’s cheek and stroked her cheek with her thumb
“I missed you too” she said chuckling lightly in a low voice
Vi smiled with more tears rolling down her check “I’m so glad you’re okay, I couldn’t lose you too, Cait”
Caitlyn realised what Vi meant, and she immediately hugged Vi tightly “oh Vi, I’m so sorry”
Vi hugged Caitlyn back
She let go of the hug wiping her tears and looked at her
“Vi, you’re arm” Cait said worried as she saw she had a sling on
“I’m okay don’t worry, the main focus is that you’re you”
Without another moment Vi ran outside the door and shouted “SHE’S AWAKE! SHE’S AWAKE!”
As soon as Vi said those two words, Caitlyn’s doctor came running
He came in and smiled, slowly walking up to Caitlyn “How are you feeling Caitlyn?”
Caitlyn sighed and hesitantly said “I- I’m okay”
The doctor wasn’t convinced, neither was Vi, Vi knew that Caitlyn would say she’s okay even though she wasn’t “Caitlyn tell him the truth” Vi said
The doctor looked at Vi then at caitlyn smiling and said “Don’t worry I know she’s not telling the truth” The doctor’s face went serious “But really Caitlyn, how do you feel?”
Cait sighed “Like absolute shit”
Vi chuckled at Caitlyn swearing
The doctor chuckled lightly too “I thought so, I’ll get a nurse to come give put some medicine into your IV as soon as possible”
Caitlyn nodded
“Thank you”
The doctor turned to Vi
“Can I talk to you for a second, outside?”
Vi nodded she took Caitlyns hand and kissed it
“I’ll be 2 minutes”
Caitlyn smiled and Vi let go of her hand and followed the doctor outside
*outside Caitlyn’s room
“Regarding Caitlyn’s eye, I was going to ask do you want to tell her or should I?” The doctor asked
Vi looked down slightly knowing it should come from someone she knows “I’ll tell her, don’t worry”
The doctor nodded and walked away
Vi went back in and closed the door
She turned around and just stood there, her back now leaning on the door, smiling and just admiring Caitlyn
“What was that about?” Caitlyn asked
There was no answer
Caitlyn turned to look at Vi who was stood with her back against the door and arm, now crossed with her other
“What…?” Caitlyn asked smiling
“Nothing…” Vi said still smiling and not moving
“Well clearly it’s something you’re just stood there smiling” Caitlyn chuckled
Vi was still smiling, she’d been caught, not like she was trying to hide it
She uncrossed her arm and pushed herself away from the door walking to Caitlyn’s bed
“I’m just looking at the most gorgeous girl in the world” Vi said smiling
Putting her hand on the bed leaning closer to Caitlyn, smiling
Caitlyn chuckled and said “oh yeah? Missed me that much?”
“You have no idea” Vi said
Vi kept talking “I’ve missed you so much Cait-“
Caitlyn nodded, leaning closer to Vi “Really?” Caitlyn said quietly and smirking
Vi kept talking
Caitlyn smirked, cupping Vi’s face, going closer to it “yeah?” Caitlyn said quietly her lips were about to touch Vi’s “Okay…” Caitlyn whispered “shut up now…” she smirked and captured Vi’s lips in another passionate kiss
Vi didn’t really expect it, she eased into it
“Mmm, okay” she said on Caitlyn’s lips
Vi’s voice on Caitlyn’s lips made her smile
She leaned back, bringing Vi on top of her, one leg on each side of Cait’s legs trapping her
Caitlyn grabbed the back of Vi’s neck, not letting go but bringing her closer
Vi put her hand on the side of Caitlyn’s neck, kissing her even more
The nurse who was coming to give Caitlyn’s medicine walked in
She saw Vi and Caitlyn and immediately stopped
“Oh-“ the nurse said in shock
Vi and Caitlyn looked at her in shock
The nurse looked at them in shock. She smiled awkwardly and said “I’ll come back later…”
The nurse closed the door wishing she’d never opened it in the first place
Vi, still on top of Caitlyn, looked at her and they both just started giggling
That didn’t stop Caitlyn though. Caitlyn pulled Vi back in from her neck and immediately kissed her again
Vi’s hand went from Cait’s neck to her waist
Caitlyn flinched in pain and moaned with a mix of pain and pleasure
Vi heard this, opened her eyes and looked down, she had accidentally touched Caitlyn’s wound
“Shit, sorry”
Vi quickly got off Caitlyn
“Are you okay?”
Caitlyn nodded “it’s okay, I’m fine”
“Maybe not the best idea right now” Vi said a small smirk tugging at the corner of her mouth
Caitlyn nodded and agreed
They both laughed a little
“Listen we need to talk anyway” Vi said in a serious tone
Caitlyn looked at Vi, curious but a little scared
Vi just came straight out with it “Cait, the doctors…“ Vi looked down unable to face Caitlyn “they couldn’t save your eye”
Caitlyn looked down but didn’t say anything
Vi looked at Caitlyn,she brought her hand to her chin and lifted it to meet her gaze
“Eye or no eye, you are still absolutely gorgeous, Caitlyn”
Cait looked at Vi and smiled
“I guess I knew my eye couldn’t be saved… but I had hope that maybe it could’ve been…”
Cait sighed putting her head back on her pillow “I’m gonna have to wear an eyepatch, aren’t I? I’m going to look stupid”
Vi looked at her and laughed
Caitlyn looked at Vi confused “What?! Why are you laughing?”
Vi still laughing “You, look stupid?” Vi stopped laughing and put her hand on Caits cheek stroking it with her thumb
“You could wear anything… or nothing” Vi chuckled, so did Caitlyn “and you’d still look absolutely beautiful, Caitlyn” Vi said smiling
Caitlyn smiled holding Vi’s hand that was on her faces, going into her embrace
The door opened
Mel ran in with Ekko behind
Vi got up off the bed
Mel ran to the bed and looked at Caitlyn “oh!” Mel said tears of joy in her eyes “y-you’re awake”
Mel hugged Caitlyn “I’m so glad you’re okay”
Mel let go of the hug and Caitlyn smiled at her
Mel looked at Vi and said “I told you, she doesn’t give up without a fight”
Vi smiled
Caitlyn looked at Ekko
“I’m sorry… a-about Jinx”
Ekko looked down and nodded he wanted to change the topic
“How are you feeling?”
“The truth” Vi said quickly, knowing Caitlyn wouldn’t tell the truth
Cait rolled her eyes at Vi’s comment “I’m fine” she said looking at Ekko
Vi looked at Ekko “She feels like shit, she just won’t say it”
“I’m not shocked after what you went through” Mel said
“We are all so glad you’re awake Caitlyn, you had us so worried” Mel said
Ekko smiled and nudged Vi “And you weren’t gonna go get checked out” Ekko scoffed rolling his eyes
Ekko said this out loud and Caitlyn heard
She turned to Ekko
“What do you mean she wasn’t going to get CHECKED out?!”
Vi gave Ekko a look
“Nothing, he means nothing”
Cait looked at Mel for answers
Mel sighed, laughing a bit “Vi wanted to stay with you, and she wasn’t going to get checked out”
Cait looked at Vi a little angry “You what?!”
Mel quickly said “But, she did go get checked out in the end, and she’s okay”
“Okay? Okay?! She looks like shit” Caitlyn said
“Thanks” Vi said sarcastically
“You know what I mean” Caitlyn said
“Your arm is broken! How is that okay?!” Caitlyn said annoyed but worried
Mel reassured Caitlyn and told her “I went to her doctor myself and asked, she’s going to be fine and she needs to keep that sling on for a few weeks”
Caitlyn sighed and said “okay…”
She looked at Vi and said “how could you be so daft!?”
Vi chuckled and went up to Caitlyn
Mel moved out the way
Vi leant down and kissed Caitlyn on her head
“You worry too much, you need to relax and worry about yourself, okay?”
“I worry because I love you” Caitlyn said
Vi stroking Caitlyn’s head, smiled and said “I love you too”
Cait turned to Mel and started panicking “Wait is everything okay? What about Piltover? Is it fully ruined? What’s going on with Zaun?!”
Mel stopped Caitlyn “Relax. I’ve got everything under control, you have nothing to worry about”
Caitlyn felt relaxed at Mel’s words but wasn’t convinced “But I-“
Mel stopped her again “I’ve got it sorted, don’t worry”
Caitlyn eased back into her pillow
Mel looked at her and smiled “It’s good to have you back, Caitlyn” she chuckled
