Vi sat there with her eyes closed holding Caitlyn’s hand
She didn’t move, she didn’t want to.
She was in pain herself but it didn’t matter to her she didn’t want to leave Caitlyn’s side and she never would
All of a sudden Vi heard a rapid beeping coming from the machine Caitlyn was on
Vi immediately opened her eyes
Before she could even get up nurses and doctors came into the room rapidly.
One of the doctors shouting “She’s crashing, get a crash cart!”
Vi stood up worried and scared “W-What’s going on?!”
The nurses and doctors were all around Caitlyn in front of Vi, Vi tried pushing past them trying to see her “WHAT’S GOING ON?!” Vi said as she kept trying to push through, tears forming in her eyes again
The doctor saw Vi trying to push through to see Caitlyn “GET HER OUT OF HERE, NOW!” The doctor said
One of the nurses was in front of Vi and held her shoulders, trying to calm her down
Vi was trying to look over the nurse but the nurse kept pushing her back, Vi looked at the nurse “TELL ME WHAT’S GOING ON!”
The nurse kept trying to push Vi out the room not saying anything
The nurses and doctors around Caitlyn grabbed a board “1,2,3” on three they rolled Caitlyn to her side they put the board under her “down” they placed Caitlyn down on the board
Caitlyn’s doctor put his hands on her chest and shouted “STARTING CPR”
Vi heard what the doctor said and in fear shouted “CAITLYN! CAITLYN!”
The doctor said again “I TOLD YOU TO GET HER OUT
OF HERE!” Referring to Vi
Vi kept trying to fight to get back to Caitlyn but it was no use as 2 more nurses came and pulled Vi out the room “NO, NO, GET OFF ME!” Vi reached her hand out but one of the nurses held her by the stomach so her arm only went so far “CAITLYN!” Vi cried
After a lot of struggle the nurses got Vi out the room, closed the door and went back to helping Caitlyn.
Vi went to a wall and slid down it, crying
She could hear the doctor shouting in the room
“PUSH ONE OF EPI”
She quickly got up and went to the glass putting her hand on it, crying
*in the room
One of the other doctors
“CHARGING TO 120”
The doctor stopped CPR
“ALL CLEAR”
The doctor put the defibrillator on Caits chest
Everyone stopped, looking at the heart monitor
“Nothing” the doctor said carrying on with CPR. After 2 minutes “AGAIN” the doctor said
Without any hesitation
“CHARGING TO 180”
The doctor rubbed the defibrillator together and placed one on the right side of Caits sternum and the under paddle on an apex
“ALL CLEAR”
Everyone takes their hands off Caitlyn
The doctor pushes the defibrillator so it sends a shock through Caitlyn
It was still the same, the heartbeat wasn’t going back to normal
“AGAIN” the doctor said carrying on with CPR
“CHARGING TO 200”
The doctor places the defibrillator in the same place
“ALL CLEAR”
Everyone removed there hands off Caitlyn
Still the same
The doctor carried on with CPR
“Charge again!”
Everyone looked at each other as if to tell the doctor there’s no use, she’s gone
The doctor still doing CPR “WHY ARE YOU ALL STANDING AROUND DOING NOTHING! I SAID AGAIN”
Everyone was still standing around
“THIS IS TOBIAS KIRAMMAN’S DAUGHTER! SHE IS NOT DYING ON MY WATCH!”
He looked at the doctor with the defibrillator
“I said charge again!”
Without another word the doctor charged the defibrillators and said in a low voice with no hope
“Charging to 250”
The doctor rubbed the defibrillators and put them on in the same spot as before
“All clear”
It sent a shock through Caitlyn everyone looked at the heart monitor waiting
There was still no change
The doctor who was doing CPR was losing hope
He stopped CPR
Looked at the doctor with the defibrillator and heard a bang on the window
When The doctor heard is he said “No, this is Caitlyn Kiramman, she doesn’t give up without a fight!”
He started CPR again
“One more time, charge again”
“CHARGING TO 300”
The doctor places the defibrillator in the same spot as before
“ALL CLEAR”
Everyone stands back
The shock got sent through Caitlyn
*beep beep beep
Everyone saw Caitlyn heartbeat went back to normal
The doctor who was doing CPR sighed in relief
*outside the room
Vi was waiting and could see and hear everything
Ekko came “Vi”
Vi looked at Ekko and just cried, he ran to her and held her
“What’s happened?” Ekko asked looking at caitlyn through the window with doctors all around her
“I don’t know they won’t tell me, all I know is she was crashing”
One of the nurses closed the blinds so they couldn’t see in the room
Ekko looked worried, they could both still hear from outside the room “AGAIN”
“CHARGING TO 200”
“ALL CLEAR”
Which made Vi even more scared
Until they stopped
Vi knew this wasn’t good
She looked at Ekko “They’ve stopped, why have they stopped?!”
Ekko put a hand on Vi’s shoulder telling her it’s over, Caitlyn’s gone
“No, no, NO!” Vi said banging her fist once on the glass window
The doctor heard the bang and knew it was Vi and knew he had to try one more time because like he said, and like everyone knows, Caitlyn Kiramman doesn’t give up without a fight!
Vi and Ekko heard the doctors try again
“CHARGING TO 300”
“ALL CLEAR”
Vi and Ekko waited
The beeping went back to normal
After a few minutes Caitlyn’s doctor who was performing CPR came outside the door
Vi looked at the doctor scared for what he was about to say
“She’s okay”
Vi was relieved and Ekko was there to support her
The doctor carried on “Caitlyn’s heart rate dropped, that’s why she crashed”
Vi didn’t say anything but nodded understanding, she didn’t know what to say
Ekko spoke up asking “can we see her?”
The doctor replied “Just give them a few minutes to get her settled”
Vi and Ekko nodded
“Thank you” Vi said
The doctor nodded and walked away leaving Vi and Ekko to talk
Vi turned and looked at Ekko “where did you go after Mel talked to you”
Ekko looked down and said “she told me about Jinx, and what happened, I needed to take a walk, clear my head. I’m sorry I wasn’t there for you”
Vi hugged him holding the back of his head and said “shut up”
Ekko hugged her back with tears in his eyes
“I’m so sorry Ekko” Vi said
Ekko hugged Vi tighter
“What happened?” Ekko and Vi turned to see who it was
It was Mel
Ekko told Mel what the doctor said
Mel understood and said “she’s okay now though, right?”
Ekko nodded and Mel was relieved
“I wanted to talk to you, both of you actually” Mel said
Vi and Ekko looked at Mel confused but curious
“Before Caitlyn went unconscious something happened and I know it did”
Vi looked at Mel and said “What do you mean, something happened?”
Mel didn’t really know how to say it “I saw Caitlyn after my mother died, she was awake and fine, about to get up actually, even though she had just lost an eye and was stabbed”
Mel said shaking her head getting back to the point
“But then everything went blank and we all fell to the floor and I looked at caitlyn and she’s unconscious”
Vi looked at Mel and said “what? So you’re saying that something happened that we don’t remember”
“Exactly” Mel said
Ekko was silent
Vi nudged him
Ekko responded and said “yeah, I may know something about that”
“What?” Vi and Mel said in unison
Ekko scratched his head and said “well it’s a long story but after we crashed” Ekko looked at Vi “I was unconscious and I woke up, when I woke up I was floating in the air, and I saw you and jinx in the air with these white things connected to you”
Vi looked at Ekko “I remember that, I saw a white thing and then everything went blank” Vi said “And then we fell from out of nowhere”
Mel was listening taking in all the information “I just remember waking up”
Ekko carried on and said “well Viktor had these like soldiers, and when I woke up I grabbed my board and went to him to stop him”
Vi looked at Ekko “wait you stopped this?!”
Vi kept looking at him in shock “with what?”
“I had this thing called a Z Drive and…
Ekko stopped and said “long story short you guys don’t remember anything because of Viktor”
He carried on “but what I can tell you is after everything happened, after Viktor was defeated you all woke up, right?”
Mel nodded and said “I also remember Viktor’s soldiers falling after we woke up”
After a while a nurse came out of Caitlyns room, interrupting their conversation, the nurse looked at all three of them “you can go see her now”
They all walked in the room and Caitlyn was laying there still unconscious
One of the doctors came back, knocked on the door and said “can I talk to one of you”
Mel nodded and said “I’ll go” leaving Vi, Ekko and Caitlyn
After a few minutes the doctor and Mel came inside “I thought you should hear this from the doctor instead of me” Mel said
Vi held Caitlyn’s hand looking at her but listening to the doctor
Ekko turned to the doctor
“Even though Caitlyn is okay, there is a chance she may not wake up”
Vi turned to look at the doctor rapidly “what?! What do you mean?!”
The doctor responded “Caitlyn’s injuries are really severe, we don’t know if her body will be able to take it”
“What are the chances of her waking up?!” Vi asked
The doctor looked down and said “chances are… 30% at the least”
Vi, Mel and Ekko couldn’t believe what they were hearing
The doctor looked at Vi, Ekko and Mel and said “I’m sorry, I’ll leave you all to talk”
The doctor left
The room was silent for a while everyone just looking at Caitlyn
Mel put a hand on Vi’s shoulder and asked “I’m going to get a coffee, do you want anything?”
Vi didn’t say anything
Ekko went with Mel so Vi and Caitlyn could be alone
After Mel and Ekko left Vi broke down into tears, still holding Caitlyn’s hand
She kissed her on the head, holding the kiss with tears running down her eyes she whispered, her lips still on Caits forehead “please wake up Caitlyn”
Vi put her head on Caitlyn’s and said quietly “I need you”
