Chapter 1
As the meeting with Mel and Jayce comes to an end Cait says “then we best stop him” talking about viktor.
The meeting ends
Vi and Caitlyn go to get changed and ready for the war that’s about to come.
They have their backs turned to each other and the room is silent.
After a while Cait breaks the silence
“Vi… listen if we-“
Cait wasn’t able to finish her words she was scared for what may come out and if it was said it would mean it could actually happen, they could lose each other.
Stuttering and shaking Caitlyn carries on “If we don’t-“
Vi can tell caitlyn’s struggling to get her words out but she knows what she means
Whilst Caitlyns back is still turned Vi goes up behind her slowly, turns her around puts both her hands on each side of her face, cupping her face and puts her head on Caits
Vi- “Don’t, don’t say it”
Cait *sighs*
Cait - “Vi, just listen, if…”
Caitlyn sighs again getting ready to say it
“If I don’t make it, I- I wasn’t you to know-“
Vi cuts Caitlyn off
Vi - “I know cupcake”
A small smile forms on Caitlyn’s face
“You’re never going to let me speak are you”
Cait making light of the situation made a smile form on Vi’s face too.
Cait - “Please, let me speak, okay?”
Vi - “Cait I know what you’re gonna say, we’ve been though everything together, there is no way we are not making it out of this together”
Caitlyn gets tears in her eyes and looks away pushing Vi’s hands away gently.
Vi pulls Caits face back to hers with her finger
“Hey, look at me”
Cait looks at Vi
Vi wipes the tears rolling down Caitlyns face
Cait holds Vi’s hand on her face going into her touch
Cait looks at Vi and speaks
“I know I’ve screwed up, and hurt you in countless ways, and I- I’m so sorry, and I want you to know, before anything happens
Cait takes a breath
“When I hurt you, when I left you, the time we were separated was horrible, you are the only thing that makes me see colour when everything’s grey. I can’t live without you and I don’t have any intention to either. You are my everything, I love you, Violet, more than anything in this entire world.
Cait cups Vi’s face and puts her head on Vi’s, looking down at her lips
Cait - “I don’t want to lose you, it’s me and you against the world. Always and forever”
Vi smiles softly and cups Caitlyn’s face too
Vi - “I love you too cupcake”
With that and wasting no more time Vi captured Caitlyns lips, making it a slow passionate kiss, it was the goodbye kiss
Vi pulls away from the kiss her head still on caits and her hands still cupping her face a smile tugs at the corner of her mouth
Vi whispers - “Always and Forever”
Whilst their heads were together they were having a moment, but it got interrupted by Loris.
Loris cleared his throat which caught Cait and Vi’s attention
“Sorry to interrupt, but it’s time”
Loris walks away leaving them to say goodbye
Vi had tears in her eyes and so did Caitlyn.
Vi - “Give them all you got cupcake, you’re an alright shot, remember”
Vi chuckled a little
This made Cait chuckle lightly
“I’m an excellent shot”
Vi pulls her head away, her and Cait are both looking at each other, not saying anything and they are holding each others hand
Vi walks away slowly until their fingertips are just touching. When Vi couldn’t feel Caits hand anymore she turned around and walked out, she wanted to look back, but she couldn’t bring herself to do it
Cait watched Vi walk away, as she had many times before, but this time it was different.
When Vi walked out she was wiping tears as they kept strolling down her face rapidly.
Once Vi left tears started streaming down Cait face too, she pulled herself together, grabbed her gun and went to her post.
They didn’t want to cry that much in front of each other in case one of them didn’t make it back, it was easier this way and they both knew that.
