Impulse
"I missed you too, I'm so sorry you got left behind! But I can get you out of here, I promise!"
Shelly couldn't exactly figure out what was wrong other than Vee being injured, but she felt a little dizzy. Whatever, she has to get her out of here. Shelly let go of her and stood back up, then offered her hand to help her up.
As Vee took the Fossil's hand and got up, Shelly couldn't help but notice how Vee had seemingly gotten taller? Well, the robot had always been much taller than her, it's probably just her memory being off considering she's been missing for about a month. Though she did still worry about that injury.
"I don't remember the twisteds on this floor being too dangerous... what happened?" Shelly questioned, her concern raised as it looked like Vee could hardly stand at the moment
Vee balanced herself before answering, her left sleeve was torn and the wires exposed underneath stung, the other sleeve was relatively fine- but stained. She held the microphone at the end of her limp tail in her right hand.
"Some others appeared after the Elevator left, I'm not sure how. But I don't know if there's any here right now" fortunately Vee's voice didn't get interrupted too much this time.
"Hm, I didn't see anyone when I got here, but we should still be cautious"
Shelly held onto Vee's left hand as she peeked through the racks, and led the robot out and into the kitchen. Shelly partly took notice to how the others hands seemed oddly claw-like, strange, but maybe she just did that to defend herself at some point.
She hadn't done any of the machines just yet, as she ran as soon as she heard her partner's voice, so they can't leave just yet. Fortunately one was in the kitchen "Can you stay near me while I do the machines? It won't take too long" Shelly asked, the thought of Vee wandering off and getting caught by a twisted suddenly appearing horrified her
"That's fine, I was going to anyway." The other replied.
The machine was done rather quickly, though as she was doing it and had Vee follow her as she looked for the others, Shelly couldn't help but glance at the TV's screen occasionally. Vee looked rather on the edge most of the time, yet there was a slight smile... was there red in her eyes? Probably just seeing things.
The second machine was found, and done as quickly as the first. Whilst they walked, Shelly made sure to pick up any useful items she could find, may as well get supplies while they're at it.... "Vee are you alright? You kinda tense up whenever I do a skillcheck" Shelly asked while doing the third machine
"Eh? Oh, I do? Didn't realize, well, it'd be bad if you missed it and something heard" Vee replied, stumbling on her fuzzy words. She was acting a little off now that the fossil was paying a bit more attention.
But honestly, all the oddities could be blamed on how long she'd been trapped down here, alone, it had to of messed her up atleast a bit.
But Shelly couldn't help but think about it, maybe a little too much. The fourth machine was around the counter, and the two went over. As she did the machine while still lost in thought, she accidentally missed a skillcheck, and right after what Vee told her, lovely. "Shoot-" she said right after, wait what was-
There was a cold, and tight grip on her shoulder abruptly, Vee's shaking hand. Shelly felt paralyzed, almost fearful. "...how about I try instead" Vee finally spoke, releasing her grip on Shelly's shoulder. "O-oh! Alright!"
Vee set her aside and began to work on the machine. "Though.. why did you do that?" Shelly asked nervously
"...just... impulse"
"What do you mean?"
"...don't worry about it, I'll do the fifth machine" and the fourth was completed.
"Okay.."
They went back near the Elevator, Vee doing the last machine as she said she would. It felt a little awkward, but letting her do the machine would make it alot faster, and the machine was completed within less than a minute. After, Vee grabbed Shelly's hand and rushed over and into the elevator, her tail mic dragged across the floor, the elevators door nearly slammed on it when the they made it inside.
"Oh be careful!" Shelly exclaimed, noticing the near-accident.
"Huh?"
"The door almost shut on your tail, that's all"
"..ah"
"I remember how much you said it hurt when someone stepped on it so uh, y-yeah-"
She glanced around, she still felt a little off even when being in a safe area for some reason, atleast she's found who she'd been looking for- oh.
The elevators doors opened to Floor 11, Shelly forgot to set it to where they'd be going back up.
"...whoops"
