Note
This is my second time making something to be posted on Ao3, like, ever.I'm a much better artist than a writer so forgive me for this not being top-tier. There's also the fact that this first chapter is short, but I hope to make more.

I'll find you

"Another day, another run!"

Was what Shelly told herself every morning.

Every single day she'd go on countless runs, looking for someone dear to her, who had gone missing.... almost a month ago now. A certain green robot was who. Nowadays, she could hardly remember the day she lost her beloved, it was a supply run, they reached the tenth floor.

But for whatever reason, Vee couldn't make it to the elevator, and likely ended up trapped on that floor... why can't Shelly remember what happened exactly? Oh well, it's time to go searching for her again.

Now then.

Shelly quickly got dressed, left her room and got a bite to eat, it was earlier than she had realized, atleast breakfast was already being made. The voice of a certain timid baker caught her off guard.

"Shelly, you're up early again"

"Oh! Hey Cosmo! Yep, I just wanted to get up early to do my first run of the day" Shelly said ever-so-cheerily, though her stressed out mind was the exact opposite of her tone

"...still looking for Vee?" Cosmo asked with a bit of hesitation

"Yep! I know she's been gone for a long time, but I can't just give up now!" After she spoke, she finished her food.

Cosmo sighed in response "I hope you find her this time, Shelly..."

"I hope so too!" Shelly shouted in response as she left and entered the hallway to the old tree and then ran over to the Elevators, entering the one in the very back. She decided to do a solo run this time, nobody was up and ready to go with her anyway -and down she went!

"I'm not sure how much longer I can do these" She began whispering to herself

"Tisha and the others keep telling me to take a break, have them look for her instead, or just... give up"

"But I can't...! Vee would've looked for me, and I'll look for her as long as I can!"

She's made it to the first floor, it went by rather quickly and so did the first few floors before the tenth, she's been doing so many runs ever since Vee's disappearance, she was bound to actually get good at doing things alone.

While she was going through the floors, she tried to reminisce on the times she had spent with her mechanical girlfriend, even if they had become fuzzy over time, she still loved her dearly. That's why she's been doing this after all, she missed her cold metallic hands, how Vee would play songs from the outside world for her when they were alone together, when she would share what felt like endless dinosaur facts that not even Shelly had known or when Vee would find old history or scientific books on floors and gave them to her as gifts.

She wanted her back, she NEEDED her back

Shelly finished the last machine, and now, she's reached the tenth floor.

Before the door opened, she swore she could hear loud footsteps and something electrical, a loud boom-like sound from afar. Yet when the door opened, no monster that'd match the noise was to be seen. She shrugged it off and continued to walk through the floor, It was one of the diner's, the same type of floor vee had been left on. She spotted the first machine before stopping right before she began to work on it.

A familiar voice she had oh-so-desperately wanted to hear again had spoken from afar

"H-Hey! Is someone there?"

Her voice was glitchy, and uncertain, but Shelly knew.

It was Vee

The ammonite shell turned around immediately and bolted in the direction of the voice, she wouldn't waste another second of her life waiting to see Vee again.

"Vee?! VEE! Where are you?!" Shelly shouted out, running past the tables and into the kitchen.

"Shelly?-" Something seemed to of happen to Vee's throat before she could continue, she's not in the kitchen though. Shelly then walked into the hallway, and noticed a familiar green between the racks beside the bookshelves, she stumbled into the little area behind, trying to catch her breath after running across the floor. The toon looked up and finally saw her.

Laying against the wall was her long lost lover herself, her once pristine and well kept clothes were now tattered and stained by ichor, metallic skin had become unclean and plating breaking, her antennae drooped and the robot's screen face was cracked. But she was alive. She must've gotten a heavy injury at some point, most of the ichor covering Vee was from her waist

"It's you..! Finally!" Shelly rushed over to her once more and hugged Vee, trying to hold back tears as she did so. Only a moment after, Vee shakily wrapped her arms around her.

"...I m-missed you" her voice glitched a little once more.

...Something feels off though.
