I Hope You Get Better
James’s POV
I wake up to arguing.
“guys! He’s awake!” Peter an Sirius leave their game of chess for what it was and run over. Everything is so blurry. “How are you feeling?” Moony asks gently. “Everything hurts and I remember- someone was yelling, I think I fell off my broom? Everything is vague, my head hurts.” As I regain conscience they tell me about the Quidditch match and about how Lily saved me and how much homework I have. “Oh and there’s a ball next week!” Wormtail yells. “Yeah, we were just thinking, perfect opportunity for a good old joke.” Sirius says with a smug smile on his face.
“BOYS, I need a word with Mr. Potter, he will be out the hospital in about two to three hours.”
They know better than to argue with Mrs. Pomfrey and leave the hospital wing.
She gives me a few potions, takes a few more tests, tells me to stretch every day. And no flying for at least three weeks!
Let’s not think about that, I head to Gryffindor-tower to once again unite the marauders and start planning an amazing prank for the ball.
We head down to the library, Remus has devised a great plan but we’re gonna need some magic that they don’t really cover in class.
Lilys' POV
Alice, Dorcas, Yazmin and me are sitting in the library, studying transfiguration but we are having trouble concentrating on our homework. Because it is such a beautiful day and we have to study while we’d rather be outside. But anyway.
A few tables ahead of us, we see Potter, Sirius, Peter and Remus with their noses in books. Which is actually really unusual.
The Marauders, studying? This must be a miracle!
Well, they don’t seem to actually study. They are reading books I have never seen. They must be planning something, again. Remus looks tired, but seems very interested in whatever he is reading. Peter is scribbling something down on a piece of paper, Sirius is just staring at Remus. And James is carrying a tower of books towards their table, he looks good.
Suddenly Alice is shaking my arm, whisper-screaming "Lily, wake up!!!".
Alice and Dorcas can't hold their laugh. And soon we are all giggling. We decide that we studied enough, and we go outside to find Marlene. She is practicing a weird move on her broom. And when she sees us, she comes down to say hi.
Dorcas' POV
Marlene lands in front of us.
She looks energetic and sweaty and her short blonde hair is in a messy bun with some strands hanging in her red face. Her clothes are damp from her sweat and she is breathing heavily.
She is kind of hot, and she likes me. Nobody has ever liked me before.
I know she is avoiding me. Which is probably fair. She isn't looking at me and seems to try and explain to the others what she was practicing. I don't blame her for trying to completely ignore me, I mean, I was the one who ran away. I am the one who has been avoiding her for weeks. She has EVERY right to avoid me. But I do miss her, you know as a friend.
“Hey have any of you been asked to the ball?” Alice asks to switch the topic. “Yeah, I’m going with Sirius” Marlene says. Oh. The others are screaming “how did we not know that yet” “do you like hiiimmmm” “he is so hot!” so has she just gotten over it? Am I once again just a friend to her? Suddenly she looks right at me and I realize I’ve been staring at her for the past minutes. She just laughs and answers the questions as we start moving back to the castle. I feel sick. Sirius? Really?
“Guys, I feel sick” My stomach is twisting, what is happening? “let’s get you back to your bed then” Lily says looking concerned. We get back to the Ravenclaw common room and as they get me to bed suddenly Marlene is next to me whispering “I really hope you get better”. What does it mean?! “Yeah it would be a shame if you couldn’t go to the ball” Alice says giving me an extra blanket.
“Thanks girls, I think I’ll rest now” and they leave.
