The Train
Remus' POV
As I get off the train in Kings Cross, I could feel my heart beating faster. I head for the passageway. I can't wait to see everyone again! I've gotten plenty of letters from everyone and I told Lily about my furry-little-problem over the summer. That was really hard as we weren't able to meet but we managed. I'm barely through the gate when I hear my name. Peter is about 4 meters further waving like his life depends on it.
"How did you get even taller?!"
"Hello and good morning to you too"
We laugh and talk about Peter's travels during the summer.
On the train we look for our usual compartment to find James and Alice already there.
We usually take two compartments because us Marauders have to start planning our pranks early so we need the privacy.
James looks like he had his summer on some faraway sunny island and Alice is talking to Peter about Berlin as they both went there this summer.
After a while I hear familiar voices in the passageway. Lily, Dorcas and Marlene stumble in, but someone else is with them. l don't recognize her. Lily jumps towards me out of excitement. Now we're only missing Sirius.
I haven't heard from him since the beginning of the summer. Apparently he got in a fight with his parents (again) and wasn't allowed to receive or send letters. James says he got one saying that it'd be the last one for the summer.
We're all packed in one compartment with our stuff claiming a second one when Sirius walks in. He's grown over the summer, his hair is different as well. It's no longer short and messy but long and wavey and looks healthy and taken care of. He's not that tall but handsome tall and slim, yet his muscly quidditch-arms are perfectly toned in comparison with his slim body. l feel stupid, other people don't look at their friends that way. He could never look at me that way.
His stupid smile.
Butterflies.
God he is perfect.
Sirius Black
Sirius' POV
Fuck we're late.
But what were they thinking?! That all our luggage AND 6 teenagers would be able to be ready on time? Forget it.
At least we all actually caught the train.
I'm SO happy to finally go back, I really missed them all. When I enter our usual compartment, everyone is already there, chattering on and on about their summer.
I can feel everyone's eyes scanning me as I walk laughing out loud to Prongs.
The train finally starts moving. Peter already looks like he's ready for a nap and Marlene and Dorcas are loudly gossiping about some Ravenclaws and summer romances. The compartment really is too small for all 9 of us.
Suddenly Lily stands up, saying she and Remus have to get to the front of the train for the 'prefect talks' where they will also receive their badges and blablabla.
"We have to change fist", Remus answers. "Don't do hankypanky in the other compartment eh!!" Prongs yells as they walk out the door. Remus throws his middle fingers in the air. "Is that an invitation Moony?!" he yells again. "Oh fuck off, in your dreams!" Remus answers from the hallway.
He has such elegant hands.
Is that a normal thing to notice on your friends?
"Anyone else notice Moony's gotten really tall?" I ask. "I'm sorry Prongs, but I don't think you're tallest anymore." Remus was really tall, especially next to Lily. We joke around some more and Marlene fills me in on all the gossip. And after a while Remus and Lily enter again.
"Guess who's Slytherin prefect!" Remus asks. "No way, is little Snivellus a little prefect?!" Prongs yells. We're not really shocked, I saw it coming. It just sucks for Lily because this means she'll have to work together with him and that's gonna be tough after what happened last year.
Lily slides back next to Marlene and Dorcas. As Remus is moving towards the empty spot between me and the window, Peter lifts up his leg. He trips and falls right on top of me. His elbow in my stomach which really hurts, but fuck he smells good. And it feels as though he's not only gotten taller but also more muscly.
His hair looks soft.
I should probably do something to get him off of me right?
He stands up looking rather dumb, Peter and James dying from laughter.
His smell is gone now. Why does that make me feel kinda weird? This is normal right? I mean James also smells good. And we've all been on top of each other multiple times right. But this felt weird, different.
It's probably nothing, I'm just hungry.
