Sirius
I laughed as the one year old toddled about the garden. He had barely been walking a month but it seemed rather instant that there were places to be. I was reading a book against one of the garden trees, watching to make sure he didn’t wander too far away.
“That’s far enough fy ngolau lleuad bach.” I used my wand and floated the boy back over to me. He giggled as he went through the air, happy to land back in my lap, but eager to do it again.
I let him toddle off again before I pulled him back with magic. He seemed to really enjoy it so I set down my book and let him play that way for a bit. Every time he got to a point I deemed far enough I would use my wand and in a minute he was back in my lap.
We continued that game until I knew it was close enough to the time we had to leave and join Remus for dinner. I let him toddle off one last time before pulling him back. He giggled but quickly turned sad when he realized I wasn’t letting him go that time. He let out a scream and in one motion got free and stole my wand.
“Teddy baby give that back. Come on, give that back to Paddy.” I tried to be cautious as a baby with a wand could be dangerous. He started to toddle away from me and I quickly stood up and tried to follow him without scaring him into using the wand.
I started to get worried as he sped up giggling, but getting far too close to the ‘forbidden’ part of the garden. It was surrounded by metal spiked fences and I knew Teddy could get hurt if he went near them.
“Teddy come here!” I started to get really panicked as I picked up speed, I was able to grab my wand from the baby. As I did it nudged him off balance and I watched as in slow motion he fell and hit his head on the edge of one of the spikes.
“Teddy!” I screamed as I finally reached the boy and lifted him up into my arms. The left side of his face was cut and bleeding and the poor baby was screaming his lungs out. I quickly used a healing spell to heal his face as best as possible before I wrapped him up in my arms and raced back into the castle.
“Remus! Remus help!” I screamed as I ran through the castle trying to find Remus. I was panicked and scared, I hoped the baby’s father would help me. Teddy was still crying and I think the pain had scared him a lot, I knew I was also crying.
“Sirius? Hey Pads, what’s wrong, what happened?” Remus opened the door to his office and I stopped, my lungs burned. He looked worried, he would help me.
“It’s Teddy, he got hurt in the garden. Please help, I don’t know what to do.” I cried, handing him his son who had calmed down to a sad whimper. I leaned forward and rested into the doorframe, finally grabbing my barings after everything that happened.
