Remus
The world turned into white noise as I stood there hearing what Sirius had told me. Teddy had been hurt, while Sirius was supposed to keep him safe. Teddy was hurt, Sirius had let him get hurt.
“He got hurt?” I asked as I looked down at my son. His eye on the left had a small scar that hadn’t been there when we had lunch together that day. His eyes were puffy and he was whimpering as he calmed down.
“Yes, we were playing, he got my wand, I got it back but he tumbled and hit his eye on one of your fences. I healed it as best I could Remus.” He rambled, his face was red and puffy, same as my sons, but the hurt was far less than I cared for.
“Did you shove my son?” It came out rather cold and harsh. I walked behind my desk and sat down brushing my son's hair with my fingers to calm him down.
“No! Merlin no! He got my wand right, and I was trying to be gentle with him because he’s a baby and he had a wand. I didn’t want it to hurt him, so when I took it back I didn’t expect him to lose his balance. He’s only been walking for about a month now, I should have expected it.” He pushed off the doorframe and came further into my office.
“And you think that a one year old has any concept of what a wand is? Why the fuck did you have it out around him Sirius? He got hurt and you could have stopped that so easily!” I started to get really angry at how stupid Sirius had been.
“We were playing, it involved magic. I was getting him ready to come back inside so we could have dinner together. He got upset and grabbed it so fast, I didn’t have time to react because he was already moving away from me.” Sirius started to shrink into himself.
“You let my son get hurt, and let him near my forbidden fucking garden! How could you be so fucking stupid Sirius?” I raised my voice. He flinched before more tears started to fall down his face.
“I tried to stop him, I really did. You know how much I’ve been helping you with raising him, I wouldn’t do this on purpose.” He almost whispered. His head was hanging low and he looked to be sizing up his hands as he talked.
“You haven’t done shit to raise him. You’ve been here for fucking six and a half months. You don’t deserve to see my son ever again. Get out. I don’t want to see or hear from you right now.” I commanded him. I knew it was the full moon having been only a few days before but I couldn’t stop the anger.
“Remus, what do you mean?” He looked at me, scared and broken. I hated to admit it to myself, I relished in that look.
“You’re not allowed to call me that anymore. I forbid you from calling me Remus or Moony, ever. Am I understood?” He gave a quick nod before he slowly started to back away from where he had been standing. “Good. Now get out!”
He turned and raced out of my office. I slumped down, the anger disappearing as I saw my son who was watching the door. He looked so confused and so sad.
“Pa-Paddy?” He stumbled out as he watched the doors to my office close. His eyes welled up as he started to cry again. I also began to tear up, he had said his first word and it wasn’t Papa. It was Paddy, because of course it was.
“Na, fy nghi bach. Nid yw Paddy yma.” I kissed his forehead. He let out a scream before crying again, even harder. I let out a shaky breath before repeating myself. “Paddy is not here.”
