Introduction
Lavina Rickwood was not an outgoing girl. Some students would even describe her as strange, and sometimes even unsettling. She was an observant girl, preferring to stick to her best friend, Astoria Greengrass's Shadow. Astoria, the more demonstrative of the two, led her pack of girls around Hogwarts with Lavina by her side. Lavina was quite a pretty girl, a shy beauty with soft, round features. Her thin gray eyes would flit around the room under her mane of black hair that she magically changed to blonde after the first week at Hogwarts. Lavina as lovely as she looked, was completely overshadowed by Astoria's sharp features. No one was a match for Astoria's striking beauty. The girl could have her pick of any of the boys her age at Hogwarts. As the years went by and the girls got older, Lavina seemed to find her voice. She was still a reserved little witch but her time at Astoria's side had hardened her, developing the cunning ability to detect one's insecurity and use it to her advantage. This was a skill Astoria used and abused to get herself to the top of the Hogwarts social food chain. Not that she needed it of course, she came from a proud Pureblood family and wasn't so quiet about her families ties to the Malfoys and the Blacks.
Lavina, as studious as she was, always getting close to full marks in all her classes excelled in potions and in herbology. Those were her passions. And as some cruel joke, she was gifted with a special talent of divination, regardless of her lack of passion in it. She was afflicted with visions of things she had nothing to do with and against Astoria's behest, occasionally aiding the Golden Trio with her gift of foresight.
Something changed, however, during her last year at Hogwarts. The pair fell out and Lavina became victim of Astoria's cruelness. No one but the two girls new what happened, and eventually their entire history was forgotten when they found themselves staring down each other as enemies on opposite sides at the battle of Hogwarts.
Years later, Lavina found herself on the run from Voldemort's snatchers. He'd heard of the girl who could willingly conjure visions, though this was a gross exaggeration of her ability for divination. Both Voldemort's army and the Order sought out Lavina for her ability. She'd managed to escape the order a few times, as they didn't believe in holding her against her will for too long but being Under Voldemort's custody was another thing entirely.
